Is anyone else annoyed by all the articles that say Wallace and J-Rich play the same position? I mean .. isn't it clear that J-Rich played SF in a system of smaller players? Its really bothering me how uninformed some of my colleagues have become.

It annoys me too. I've probably read half a dozen articles today saying that they play the same spot.
If they did their research, they would realize that In this offense J-Rich is a 2 and Crash is a 3.

Wallace on Mavs' wish list
Posted: Monday July 02, 2007 08:12AM ET

Gerald Wallace is near or at the top of the Mavs' wish list, even though acquiring him will take much more than the mid-level exception, which is expected to be between $5.8 million and $6 million. It will be difficult to get anything done with Wallace. Most insiders believe he will stay with Charlotte even though the Bobcats last week traded for Jason Richardson, who plays the same position as Wallace.

Yea people need to get their facts strait...nobody really knows anythang about the bobcats outside of north carolina...its just how the national media used to treat the panthers

I'm in LA and I'd like to think I've got my finger on the team's pulse!

haha pree you seem to have your finger on the bobcats pulse out there in LA, while people who live here are hunting around the knee cap looking for a pulse.

its the same thing with Stephen A Smith. a guy that hasnt the slightest inside clue on this team, yet spouts his mouth off anyway.

I certainly avoid writing about things I don't know anything about .. that's why I don't write about the Knicks - no one knows what the heck is going on there as far as I'm concerned.

That is the only logical reason for everyone hating on this trade, they jsut have now clue about the status of the team. They don't realize that JRich is a more natural 2 and GW is a 3. They also must not know that the Cats have more than enough space to sign both of them.

Jordan addressed the single biggest need for this team in my opinion. a scoring 2. If anyone thinks other wise then they are fooling themselves. Regarless they weren't servicing a need with B.Wright regadless of how he turns out in 3 years.

I am furious at the national media and so called basketball experts lack of rational and objective thought about this. Especially with the need for this team to be relevant now rather than later.

The national media can kiss my ass for all I care, all I need are you guys and the occasional Observer info, along with the Morning Sports Page to keep me informed on the Bobcats. ESPN will never show us love, even when the Hornets were pretty good we were an afterthought, and nothing has changed. The Panthers get some love thanks to being in the big game recently, but they still don't get what they deserve.

Yeah, to hell with any media like ESPN, foxsports, SI, etc etc as they are just biased for the big market teams or teams that have been good in recent years.

Well you don't count because you're an individual who gets to choose his stories, not big market media that gets assigned topics and is controlled in that aspect. You mentioned in one of your posts that you do topics that you're knowledgeable about and want to do, so that makes you exempt.

It's not that hard to see that JRich is a SG and Wallace is a SF. People must be really dumb if they think they play the same position.

I think people got used to seeing Wallace playing SG on Sacramento when he was filling for injuries. (And that might be why Sac. didn't think much of him! ??? )When he got traded, our team was so nebulous that it wasn't clear to anyone but real fans what position he played.

Not that this excuses a basketball columnists from the error, but I think that's the reason why a few different columnists still see GW as a 2.

Congratulate Jason for a job well done!! Completely agree (obviously on his first point!!) on both cases. Richardson+GW=MONEY!!! Allen+Pierce=Not enough basketballs to go around.
