I know this sounds like a stupid question, but Dudley was the ACC's leading rebounder last year and 2nd in scoring, he's a solid power forward as well. Coach Vincent loves him, so it made me wonder, does anyone thing he could get some time starting this year?

PG-Raymond Felton (Backup --> ???)
SG- Jason Richardson (Backup --> Matt Carroll)
SF- Gerald Wallace (Backup --> Adam Morrison)
PF- Jared Dudley (Backup --> Sean May)
C- Emeka Okafor (Backup --> Primoz Brezec)

It's certainly not out of the question, but he's pretty short to be our starter. I'm guessing that Brezec is still the starter, but we rotate our guys a lot this year. Hermann will probably get the bulk of the PF minutes even though he doesn't start.

That's just my guess.

I don't see a rookie bumping an NBA front court starter. He will be coming off the bench until we get our annual Okafor and May injury bug.

May has a huge question mark on him right now after reading that artical on the observer I don't expect him to start next season.

I like Okafor at the 4. Not at Center. He's more effective as a 4

dudley could start a few games i would think, but not the permanent starter. i would think he may be ahead of may on the depth chart because he stays healthy. but i think walter may start there for the bulk of the season in our new running attack

Agreed but who would you play at the 5?

In the East Primo is fine. But I personally would try to sign Chris Mihm or Jamal Maglorie

I try to read the paper everyday, I missed that article on May. I will look it up...

Okafor as starting F: 14.4 PPG, 11.1 RPG, 2 BPG on 45% shooting.
Okafor as starting C: 14.9 PPG, 10.3 RPG, 2.5 BPG on 52.6 % shooting.

I'd be happy with production from either spot.

good stats bumpus. ive heard people talking about okafor better at the 4... and never agreed. I think he does better at the 5 because hes usually a mismatch with a bigger lumbering center. where as a lot of PFs in this league are more atheletic than Okafor.

Yea, I always thought he was better at C. The only reason I'd ever like to see him at PF is if we got a good C and from what I heard, he prefers to play PF.

Well I labeled him at center cause I've heard that possibilty a few times, Herrmann and Dudley will fight it out at PF, but if we can use them and move Okafor to Center and his only difference is maybe one less rebound, I'm pretty sure having Dudley or Herrmann in there would make up for it over Primoz

as far as Dudley being too short for a PF starter... hes only one inch shorter than Brandon Wright, someone a lot of people were predicting to be our franchise power forward for years to come (crazy talk). Dudley is stronger, and had a much more decorated college career with better numbers.
Hes also the same height as Hermann, whom people expect to start at PF this year.

The way he plays, his ability to run with the team, i could see dudley, hermann, davidson, may pushing okafor to C, and rotating at the PF spot... and i could see some starters minutes from Dudley in the future.

Id rather have Okafor at the 5 with Brezec backing him up. ESPECIALLY if we are gonna be a running team.

Yeah, I think you pegged it with Dudley at the 4 and Okafor at the 5. That also would give us some outside shooting at the 4 spot while not sacrificing rebounding. Of course, Hermann did a pretty good job of getting boards too.

I think Hermann will play most of the the minutes at PF
