It depends on our record this season. Next year he'll probably draw attention from a lot of teams, including contenders. He may settle for MLE if he signs i.e. Dallas. We have to show that we are nominees for the top spot in the East.

I wouldn't mind him coming to play for the Bobcats, he'll be 32 and he should still have a few more years with him. It would bring another veteran to the team, and we could move Emeka to Center, that would be a good looking line-up

PG: Felton
SG: J-Rich
SF: Crash
PF: Jamison
C: Okafor

wow...

if hes still got it at the end of next year, and hes worth the money... for a couple year deal or so. THAT lineup provides an absolute ton of scoring.

If Gil leaves, then adding Antawn is a possibility, but I see it more as a sign and trade probably giving up someone in the starting lineup. So I would not pray to much for Jamison.

Primoz? I'd do that.

lol...nah I wish. This is all speculation, but it would have to be like Herrmann or Felton. The only reason I brought up the sign and trade is the Wiz are not going to be like the Lakers and lose BOTH Jamison and Arenas and get nothing in return. Gil is already playing the "I'm going to opt out" card and Jamison is not going to resign to a team that will not even make the playoffs (minus Gil of course) If all those things line up, then Maybe we can hope that Jamison could swing down here.

I think the only reason Arenas is going to opt out is to get the highest salary possible.

He's making 12 this year and will probably get a new deal the highest possible.

No thanks. At this point, I'd rather have sorry Brendan Haywood than Antawn Jamison. Can the Bobcats, for the love of God, get another inside player for next season. They have enough players like Jameson in Morrison, Dudley, Carroll, and Hermann. They don't need for upright, wing players, with slow feet and suspect defense.

Get another PF or C.

I am from DC...I have watched Haywood for years. We do not want him. He is SOFT. He has the same production as Kwame Brown without the expectation set by being the #1 pick. Complete waste of NBA space.

I agree with your assessment of Brendan Haywood, however, I'd rather have an inside player, and he might actually try to do something in Charlotte.  It's not like Washington is a good fit for him anyway.  The Wizards are a poor man's Phoenix.  I think a big body in the paint would help Okafor.

In some ways the Wiz are a poor mans PHX, but remember Brendan has been around since the Jordan years. Back then they walked the ball up and played half court with MJ and Rip. Brendan still sucked. But anyway we do need another quality big here in Charlotte.

I guess we will have to wait and see.

I agree about Jamison's desire to be a Bobcat. I was watching News 14 last night, and he was being interviewed, and when asked about how he thinks the Bobcats will fare this season he used "we" on numerous occassions. For example, "We've made some good moves, and with Gerald and Jason Richardson and Okafor, we're moving in the right direction," to paraphrase. If nothing else can be read into it, I think it's still cool that he thinks of the Bobcats as his hometown team, and that, in that respect, he is a part of the team whether or not he ver suits up for them. One of my all-time faves: very friendly, great character, we could do a lot worse than have him on our team!! Despite what others on this board think, an All-Star caliber 4 who can rebound, shoot, and has catlike quickness (still at 31!!!) in the post is much more preferable to a lackluster 5, such as Haywood or Darko.

I truely belive he will finish this year with Washington . Then hes coming home to finish his carer at Charlotte playing for a veteran mim. He would be a good leader and great to come off the beanch as we head to a NBA championship.

^ That would be sweet but it's completely unrealistic to think he'd pass up $10 million/season to play for pennies.

He'll sign one more big deal and then perhaps he'll sign with us for the minumum ~5 years from now when he's washed up.
