Who do you guys think will be the worst team in the NBA this upcoming season?
This may surprise some people, but I think that it'll be the Sonics. Kevin Durant is going to be a serious player, but they are way, waaayyy too young. They'll likely have 2 rookies in their starting lineup and they've lost their 2 most talented veterans. In my opinion, Its going to be big trouble for the Sonics this season.

Actually, I think they'll battle Portland as the worst team. Both teams basically blew up their squads and got young talent. Roy's good, but he's not going to carry Portland to too many wins in the West. Odin doesn't look ready to me yet. I think they could easily end up with the first two picks next year. :g:

Ziggy i agree with you the sonics are in for a rough year. I found this power ranking it says Boston is the worst. With us not much better at number 22. Hell i think we a playoff team [NO RESPECT] YET...............

Jarret Jack, Rodriguez, Lemarcus, Oden, and Roy will be able to carry the team to at least the eraly 20's at worst.
I can see Seattle, The Clippers, and Minnesota sucking it up this year...

I think Boston will be the worst. I also think that Portland will make the playoffs. Not only because Oden is a beast (young yes), but with Aldrige having a year under his belt and Roy being as good as he is they will have a better record than us.

Good call I forgot about Boston. I think with the addition of Allen and Big Baby Davis they will not be the worst, but still one of the worst.

anybody forgetting on the pacers? :g:
if they don't get anyone to help out J_o'neal, there's no way they're gonna be winning games this year. PLUS, if they actually ship him(jermaine) out, bottom's yours boys!

That's true, I guess you're right there. They do have Danny Granger...and Mike Dunleavy/Troy Murphy ::)
Just remember guys, the Pacers have Kareem Rush, that's more than enough talent to get you through!

Pacers and Timberwolves are my candidates. I believe Celtics will definitely be in the playoffs.

As Long as we stay healthy I think we are a playoff contender, but if not we could be in this competition as well as anyone, but my answer would be the Sonics...
Boston I think has improved, and Knicks improved, but the Sonics are just too young to go anywhere, I think they could get younger next year with a top 5 pick again, with Minnesota T-Wolves not far behind...

i too will have to say seattle. in 3-4 years, they could be an elite team, but they are just too young right now. however, i just don't see them being very consistent.

T Wolves is my pick right now they're going to be in rebuilding mode the next few years especially if this KG to Boston deal doesn't fall threw.

Everything changes if KG is going to be dealt to Boston. Man, they would be definite top 4 team in East and contend for championship.
And as eaton said, Timberwolves is absolute tanker of the next year and no.1 candidate for 1st overall pick in 2008 Draft.

T-Wolves will have one bad year IMO, without Garnett's contract they'll be able to compete in free agency again, they have some nice young players, and even with Garnett wasn't that good, giving a few more young guys and a chance to go and sign others and get other guys, could help them out a lot....

I'll have to retract my boston vote. now that they have KG they are playoff bound. I don't see the wolves being that bad though they got Al Jefferson,Gerald Green, and 3 other players and they still have McCants who hasn't had a full year yet. They also drafted Corey Brewer so that's just more young talent. They are not heading for a the #1 pick.

Boston definitely is not at the bottom any more, but their not at the top either, when they get a true bench, they'll be at the top. I still see the Sonics the worse, Pacers second worse...T-Wolves won't do too bad...

I'm pretty shocked how much credit you guys are giving Portland.
Oden will be good, but he's going to have a huge learning curve. The other guys on the roster are all promising, but who are they going to win against? Other than Seattle, I don't see a team in the West that won't be able to handle them. The Clippers have some question marks because of the pg spot, but they've got a ton of guns there. Kaman had a bad year, but he still showed he can ball. That gives them two great bigs and a ton of scorers around them. They probably won't make the playoffs, but they'll be a solid team.
Minnesota might be in the running now, also. They got some solid young talent. But consider this: there best player right now is Ricky Davis. He's also the most significant veteran voice outside of possibly Howard. I can't imagine a worse guy than Davis to be the center of a locker room filled with guys under 22 years old. I just think they're going to have a world of troubles coordinating any kind of "team" with all of the youngsters and questionable veterans they have.
So, now I've got a three way race: Seattle, Portland, and Minnesota.

I will never count out the Knicks as being the worst team. Their team chemistry is god awful.
Can any other team in history have two 20/10 players and they are still some of the least effective players on the roster?

Remember too, Curry isn't a 20/10 guy. He only averaged 7 boards a game last year and 5.5 for his career. He's got to be the worst rebounding center that any GM has considered a franchise cornerstone.
The Knicks are still iffy, but they did a good job in the off season. Now they have a legit rebounder, even if he is mediocre on D, starting with another big time rebounder (Lee) coming off the bench. I'm also very curious to see how Balkman progresses after his first season. He was all over the place at USC. If he can develop more of an offensive game, he'd be one of the best bench players in the league. I know the Knicks and Isiah are never a team anyone likes to give credit to. However, for the first time since the mid 90s, they seem like they're starting to make sense.
