Hes a 6.10 foward whos just 20 years old but has been in the league 2 years. He dont have great numbers but his number per 48 mins is great . Long lean and looks fast . They compare him to a young Chris Bosh . He might just be a perfect fit for Charlotte . Does any one know any thing about this guy.

I don't know much about this guy, but if he'd help out Emeka, then we should definitely try for him. Plus, he's been shot before, which means he's tough and has street cred. (In all seriousness, it seems to have given him some perspective and maturity, which the bobcats welcome.)
However, ESPN has "Status Alert: The Wizards are expected to retain Blatche, a restricted free agent, the Washington Post reports. (Jul 27)" on his player page. So, he might be gone already.
Also on the SI list, though, is Earl Boykins. What do people think about him as a back-up? He turned down $3mill from the bucks, so he'll be wanting more, but he won't have a problem playing behind Felton. All this down time with empty roster spots and no word outta Charlotte... any other thoughts?

i wouldnt mind taking a chance on blatch if he's still available...he'll be fairly cheap...probably around voskuhl salary...and he has great potential
boykins im not so keen on...he's pretty much felton in a smaller package...though felton is beginning to shoot less and pass more...boykins shoots way more than he should...and is more of a SG...but is too undersized to play that position
though he did have that monster block on yao that made me laugh for about 20 minutes straight

Shoot/pass/whatever. It cracks me up to watch him run circles around much taller players.
Seriously, though, I know he's more of a shooter, and MAYBE we don't really need that kind of influence on Raymond.
He is entertaining though.

i believe he was very very highly rated out of HS. maybe the #3 or #4 overall prospect in his HS class. he seems raw a bit still, but if he's got potential and comes cheap, i'd go after him

I've heard people say he's ready to turn the corner, but don't know much about him. I've heard he's most similar to Chris Bosh, and I would take a risk on that, depending on what he's gonna cost.
As for Boykins, NO! 5'5 defensive liability that does not make the other players better. He also costs too much(more than 3 mil?) - I would rather grab Allan Ray from the celtics, who was recently cut.

I don't know how it ended up, but at one time Antawn was his mentor, teaching him the ropes of the NBA, and how to conduct himself. Also, I remeber him being a favorite among his teammates. I would be surprised if he didn't re-sign. Also, I think I prefer Hollins and Davidson as back-ups. Good thought though!

Allan Ray will sign with Italian club Lottomatica Roma.
I've heard that Dallas was interested in Blatche for a long time. But they signed Fazekas and Bass, so I don't think they'll pursue him anymore. It was said that Cuban was considering to offer a majority portion of MLE to Blatche.
When you're talking about a "potential", the salary range differs greatly. Some teams offer 4 mil/year to a player with averages 6.1 ppg and 3.7 rpg in 11 matches in two years(Amir Johnson of Pistons), while some others would find 2.5 mil too much for "hot like hell" prospect who has shown a magnificent display only one year ago and let him go to Europe(Ersan İlyasova).
Dallas love to find "former" project players who has shown little progress through years and make them quite useful role player in the system. DeSagana Diop was just that kind of a player. I believe Brandon Bass will be so. He was drafted as a freshman with high expectations but hasn't accomplished anything yet. But he's still 22 and although big men rotation is crowded he may be very reliable back-up if he fits Dallas system as expected. Dallas signed him for only minimum.

Wizards offer Blatche $11 million
Posted: Saturday July 28, 2007 07:35AM ET
According to two league sources, the Wizards last night offered restricted free agent forward Andray Blatche a three-year deal worth about $11 million. One team that had been mentioned in connection with Blatche was Dallas. But the Mavericks, who are over the luxury tax, had not made Blatche an offer as of last night.

They're saying now that they didn't offer 11 for 3 years but less than that. If we have the money available why not throw something out there? At the least we force WAS to spend more money.

Agreed. If we get him, then we can definitely use him, but if the Wizards match, then we screw up their cap space.

Agreed we got to get a big one way or another . So why not make a offer and make the wizzards mathch it . This guy would be great in a run and gun offence.

Why don't we just resign Jeff McInnis this year as the back-up, he'd be a veteran and did pretty well while he was in, he'd probably see a bit more playing time with Knight gone as well...I don't believe any team is interested in him, so he'd have to take less...

Two reasons to NOT sign Jeff, [PHIL FORD] lol

you said it dave. plus the fact that the last good decision Jeff made was going to college, he turned pro to early and has been in a argument with at least half of his team mates every where he's been. Don't want him.

jeff's a real nice guy...iv never seen him get into any arguments with his teamates here in charlotte...plus he's real good with the community...the last game of the year he was putting together all sorts of shoes, jersey's, and stuff like that to give back to the kids that lived where he grew up...i think this whole phil ford thang has been blown out of proportion

Seems to me that if Jeff is such a nice guy (and it does seem to me to be this way) then maybe Phil's wife realized that Jeff was the better man.
So, we should keep Jeff and boot Phil. Or, we could keep McInnis and try to keep it a secret from Phil. Precedent, however, shows that will never work.
Really, though, I bet nothing ever happened.

Andray Blatche was arrested this morning for solicitation
read the story here (http://www.examiner.com/a-860551~Wizards_free_agent_Blatche_charged_with_sol icitation.html)
This certainly won't help his free agency negotiations at all.

You can get arrested for that!? :o
Seriously what is it with pro athletes and 1)strip clubs and 2)hookers? I've never even considered either one, well only rarely considered, well maybe sometimes considered LOL I remember one time I was with my buds at a club in Albuquerque...
Seems he was also "Wanted" for a prior offense of not showing up in court for driving without a license.
Andray sounds like a serious threat to society to me. Call me busted.

This also confuses me. I thought pro-atheletes (especially basketball players) could get laid based solely on, "Hi, I play basketball. Professionally."
This is lame.

It appears that Blatche was falsely accused, as it was his friend that was arrested for solicitation, and not him. He was brought in by Police for unrelated issues.
