I thought it would be fun to take each player and have everyone give their best case scenario, worst case scenario and most importantly their prediction of what they thought this player would do on the court this upcoming season. As the season progresses, we'll be able to refer back to these threads to see who had the best handle on what the players were going to do on the court.
We'll add one or two more players on the Bobcat's roster each day until we get predictions for the entire team.
First on the list: Ryan Hollins

Best Case Scenario
The light comes on and Ryan figures out how to play for extended minutes in the NBA, he uses his incredible athleticism to snag rebounds, block shots and make the occasional Sportscenter highlight.
7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.4 blocks per game
Worst Case Scenario
Ryan gets bullied on the court and exposed for not having enough true basketball skills to become a true NBA player
1ppg, 1rpg - shipped back down to the NBDL
My Prediction
Ryan shows flashes of potential and becomes a 10 minute a night guy in the rotation taking the a lot of Primoz' minutes.
5ppg, 5rpg, 1bpg

Hollins looked pretty good IMO at the Summer league, his reverse slam still is in my head, but he won't get the minutes he did there. He's a better runner than Primoz and I think he could end up taking the second spot from him by the end of the season if Okafor starts there. If Okafor starts at PF, than I think he could see some games what he starts, but he won't do many. I could see him at a nice 7-8 points per games 6 rebounds, and maybe 2 blocks with 1-2 apg...

I think he starts the season on the injered reserve . Not being a top 12 player along with Davidson, who develops the most breaks into the top 12 . As of now both players are projects. But i look to see at least one of the two be key coming off the beanch late season.
Bobcat4ever welcome to the board looking foward to reading your post.

Best case scenario: He somehow gains muscle and can hold position in the paint making it harder to double Oak50. Adds 12 pts 5 boards a game.
Worst case scenario: Gets posted up by Raymond on a daily basis, and get's shipped back to the D-League.
Prediction: I think he'll hold on to his roster spot, but really don't see him being much of a contributor. Now if we lose Sean,Dudley,Oak50, and Primo, then he'll get some numbers cause he'll be our only big left.

I think a good case scenario is a full year in the D-League developing his basketball skills. He is a great athlete but he would thrive in the DLeague where he would get PT. For the bobcats, a full season of 20+ mins per game for this kid could earn him a #2 center role behind primoz

I'm gonna have to go with the worst case scenario. He looked decent in the summer league games, against marginal talent. Don't forget that most of the guys he played against aren't in the NBA. I think he needs to focus on being a rebounder. He has the hops to get 7-8 boards while he is in the game. I think Davidson, is more skilled than Holllins, and should get more playing time.

He's already a big reach considering his raw skills. If he can't get the basics down like boxing out, rebounding etc..then I don't see him getting much PT. I love his athleticism though.
IMO Davidson is already better than Ryan. Still Davidson needs to work on his boarding too.

with both our projects struggling to get rebounds, i'm not so sure if their PTs are guaranteed IMO, but since we now have a new coach i believe that hollins will get significant time for improvement... or it's gonna be back to the NBADL for him

IMO I think that Davidson or Hollins needs NBDL time, rather than rot on the bench. It's absolutely necessary for the less seasoned player to play. They both have the potential, but need to prove it.
If Hollins doesn't show promise this year, I can see his plane ticket outta Charlotte permanently.
Best Case:
8 ppg, 6 rpg, 1.5 bpg
Hollins develops into a strong bench option and solid sub for Okafor. His obvious muscle build-up in the off-season helps him become more strong down on the block and he's able to impose himself both on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.
Worst Case:
2 ppg, 2 rpg, 0.5 bpg
His summer proved to be just a fluke and even though he worked hard, he continues to struggle and soon we realize that he's nothing more than just D-League talent.
My Prediction:
4.5 ppg, 6 rpg, 1.0 bpg
He will continue to struggle on offense but the muscle that he put on in the off-season will help him get more rebounds. He will step into Jake's role and be happy with it until he will be able to develop any sort of offensive game.
Best case
McMay still isn't ready at the start of the season so Hollins gets some burn. With his added muscle (did you guys think he looked a little bulkier at SL? I did) he doesn't gets pushed around as much. He also has a season under his belt and working with EO50 will help him learn to not foul every 2.4 seconds. He harnesses his athletic abilty making it easy to get past defenders and shows a suprising improvement to his offensive game.
8ppg, 6rpg, 2bpg (and one SICK dunk per game!!)
Worst case
Davidson beats him out over training camp and Hollins rides the bus all season long in the D getting called up only when McMay, Piggy and Primoz are all hurt at the same time.
2ppg, 2rpg, .5bpg
My prediction
I believe in this kid. He's 100% energy - he just needs to learn how to chanel it a little better. I actually think he has some nice offensive moves and his amazing length and athletic ability is a huge plus. I'd love for him to work out and becoming our full time starting PF/C next to EO50
6ppg, 4rpg, 1bpg
