Hes on his way out the door at Golden State (http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/08/13/adonal-foyle-an-institution-out-in-oakland/), and the Bobcats desperately need another big man. What are you thoughts on Adonal and would he be a good fit for the Bobcats.

I think that he would be great! Good defender and great locker room presence. I think we have a good shot at signing him because of the Rod Higgins connections and J-Rich.

I wouldnt mind him at all, he's a good defender from what I hear and could do well here...I haven't see too much of him, but can he run?

Foyle was kicked out of Warriors because of;
1) His extra-loaded contract (3 years 29 millions)
2) His body was too heavy and slow to cope with Don Nelson's up-tempo system.
Mullin's problem with Foyle is more because of his lack of harmony with system. Now they will not sign a player like Cato. They'll probably sign Stephane Lasme, who is extremely thin but athletic.
Now, all indications show that we'll adopt an up-tempo system as well. In this case, how can we use Foyle as the center? But if we'll play similar to Dallas, then Foyle would be OK. But he'll probably sign with a contender or Magic.

If that is the case, then I'll take a pass. He wouldn't fit into what the Bobcats are trying to do on the court next season.

Foyle, if can be bought cheap, would be a good fit as a Disagana Diop type in our system. A possibility, but more likely a longshot.

Depending on how much he wants (I believe he just received $13 million from GS to buyout the remainder of his contract), I think he would be a solid backup for us. Really, anyone with some size at this point, who can rebound and defend the paint is wait is needed. Last year, anytime Emeka was out, we had no one who fit that description. I'd rather not have it happen again this year.

Everything you've always wanted to know about Adonal Foyle
from GoldenStateofMind (http://www.goldenstateofmind.com/story/2007/8/14/25922/9777) :)
Unless we can have him for 1-2 mill a year, I'd pass. He's a plodder and as tamburello rightfully pointed out, wont fit in the system that Coach V has been preaching.
I'd rather bring in Andray Blatche.

Whats the latest on Blatche, he wound up not being involved in the prostitution mess from a week or so ago, so that isn't a roadblock to him being signed by some team.

he would be a nice insurance policy for the bobcats, but i wouldn't throw more than 3 mil at him

According to the most important local Magic source, Orlando Sentinel, Adonal Foyle is headed to Orlando Magic.

According to that article, it looks like the Bobcats were in the hunt to get him.
Although several teams were courting Foyle -- including Charlotte and Boston -- coming to Orlando was attractive to Foyle because of the proximity to family still living in the Caribbean, a league source said.

It does Zig!
That throws a huge monkey wrench into what a lot of us are thinking if that's true. We have 2 spots available assuming AA doesn't accept or his offer is withdrawn (we can withdraw it right?). One HAS to go to a backup PG, and all signs are pointing at an older vet min guy.
Would we start the season with only 2 guys capable of bringing it up the court? After last season I can't imagine they'd put themselves in the exact same position. Yet here we are rumored to be interested in Foyle.
Dare I say it? Could we possibly be thinking of buying out Fat Boy???? Nah, no way we could be that lucky...

We have withdrawn our qualifying offer to Alan Anderson. He'll probably be going to Europe.
We have 13 guaranteed contracts. If we'd sign a 3rd player, I guess Othella is the first odd man out. We can pay whole the money we owe and release him. We should be that lucky :)

If only we were that lucky to buy Othella out. He's good to have at a vet minimum rate, but not any more than that. We're probably not going to find anyone better out there though.
