Madden '08

OK... who got it? And is it true that its the best football video game of all time, or is that just marketing hype?

I bought it, it's good, but I think there are always rooms for improvement, I have it for PS2, I haven't wasted my money on a PS3 yet. Graphics aren't bad for PS2, but I think they could get better, a few more improvements from Madden '07, but I wouldn't call it the best game ever....

I got it for the Wii...

It feels a whole lot more realistic then other Maddens. It's not as fast paced.

I picked it up from Best Buy for 360 of course yesterday besides the constant turnovers I love it so far.

A lot of great games coming out the next few weeks I'm buying Bioshock when it comes out.

I succumbed to the proverbial Madden hype again this year. I tried to stray away from EA, being that I was extremely disappointed with NASCAR 08, FIFA 07, and Madden 07, respectively.

About a month or two ago, I bought 2k's All Pro Football 2k8. That game is pretty sick. Unfortunately, you can only have so much fun playing with a created team before you start missing your real squad....

Which brings me to Madden. I think EA finally put a little bit of effort into this one. The turnovers are crazy, but I think the developers were trying to eliminate cheesy 60 yard bombs of the quarterback's back foot type of plays. Once you get the hang of having to cover up the ball when you run, it's not that bad. The Franchise mode is deep.

So...if you have the means, I'd get both. The All Pro Football for online, and the Madden 08 for your franchise stuff. It sounds financially irresponsible to get both, but 2K has their online servers down to a science, while it seems EA's servers are still notoriously ass. I tried to play an online game of Madden yesterday and it was horrid. Yet if I play an online game of APF2k8, it's completely fluid.

If you only want one, then I would definitely rent both first.

Anyways, that's just my 2 cents.
