I read on some post some people think Herrmann is the better shooter from the 3point line. While i think the Hammer is a better three point shooter. Not thet it really matters. But its off season. So what do ya think.

Bobcats Top 5 3 Point Shooters

Herrmann 46.1%
Carrol 41.6%
Derek Anderson 35.5%
Adam Morrison 33.7%
Raymond Felton 33%

I think this is one of the few times the stats pretty much say everything...

(Ignoring that Primoz shot 33.3% and May shot 66.7%...but they both only took 3 shots.)

Stats wont tell you that the Hammer is a better catch and shoot guy and also better at shooting on the move while getting his shot off much, much quicker than Fabio.

Fabio from the corner left all alone and long enough to get his feet set (in a pigeon toed sort of way!!) is money, but the Hammer can light it up from any where and in a number of ways.

Check out their hot zones for eg:

I see what you saying but Carroll had a whole lot more 3pt shots and carried that 41percent for a full year.Slumps and etc. Where Herrmann had most of his shots at the end of the year. If hes able to carry that kind of a shooting percentage playing a full season i will concead your point.

Good post REP IT UP

In the games that I have seen Fabio looked to be one of the best outside shooters that I have ever seen. I'm sorry I love Matt as much as anyone here, but he is not a better shooter than Walter.

Carroll is better but Walter isn't far behind.

Time will tell. Matt is good. But Walt looks automatic.

I'm going to go Hammer for reasons already mentioned.

I don't really doubt Hermann, but he reminds me of Donyell Marshall, a guy who can get hot and takes advantage of his man often playing inside. Hermann, meanwhile, is usually guarded by a guard who's quicker and more up on him. Hammer has less time to take shots and more to contend with when taking them.

Honestly, I'm just glad we have both guys!!!

Remember Walt did his thing for the last 20ish games in the season, and may have had the benifit of people laying off him for various reasons (tanking/apathy/surprise), while Matt did it for the whole year, took some 500+ or more 3's, and at certain times was the primary offensive option of the team (during the lean times of course). I also will give credence to the point regarding Walter have the advanatge of playing against less perimeter inclined guys.

I agree; Im glad we have both players but the "Herrmannator" is the 3pt man between the 2. :g:

Right now Hammer. As has been said he did it thru the entire season with some of the best defenders in the league on him. Fabio kind of came out of nowhere at the last of the season.

Hopefully it wasn't a fluke and the true Herrmann has arrived...but until we know that for sure I'm sticking with Jordan's boy.

this has to go for my boy Matt Carroll. Man he's the quick 3 point shooter like we had when Jason Kapono was with us. Im suprised he wasnt invited to the 3 point shootout though.

I respect both players shot. I think Hammer has a quicker release . Fabio i look to see more posting up out of him this year. With claws as big as his they wrap the whole ball. Hes going to show us a inside out game this year.

As much as we need 3 pt shooting as a part of the game I also think we need to get into the paint for lay ups, more trips to the foul line, Etc. Herrmann can do both and I think he is the better at both. I like Carroll too dont get me wrong he's good too but Herrmann is the bigger force. I think we would miss Herrmann more than Carroll if they were gone. :g:

matt was a better 3 point shooter last year when it came to shooting off screens and catch an shoot.....once hermmann got some actuall playing time an his confidence went up, he started shotting the 3 ball real good...but he was more of wide open 3 scorer...if that makes any sense??....an lastly, after rebounding for them, i can definitly say that herrmann has better rotation on his shot an it just looks better

I think Carroll has a better handle and gets to the rim better. He all so creates his shots better. Matt all so comes off screans better.
Walter might have a better open shot. All so because of his size he can post you up.And in my openion he plays better defence.

I went with Matt, because he had twice as many attempts, and as others have noted, Herrmann had more (perhaps a higher percentage) of wide open attempts, while defenses would be more careful about giving Carroll those same looks. Comparable circumstance in my mind: JJ Redick in his junior season hit only 40.3% on his 3's, but Sean Dockery hit 42.9%. Would you consider Sean Dockery the better 3 point shooter, despite JJ taking over 5 times as many (300 to 56)?

Depends on the day. I'd say that Matt has done it over longer periods of time, so he gets the nod, currently....

if hammer can agitate other NBA fans more than hammer can (i.e. D-E-T-R-O-I-T) then he'll get my vote. but i'm going for hammer, haha, since he's already noticed by the other coaches more than fabio IMO, but i sure like their game!
