After watching the Two a Days on the Panthers on Mike & Mike this morning it got me thinking about how good or bad the Panthers nation think we'll be this upcoming season.
Looking at our schedule I can see us winning 10 and dropping 6.
Thoughts?

I thought that at first but after seeing whats been going on on the pre season games Im having my doubts at the safty positions. I hope we can get the new system down quick and start playing ball. Right we are hurting in all areas. I hope we can pull off a 8-8 record again. :g:

I predict a 7-9 record. Too many question marks and too many injury risks.

I have no idea why, but for some reason, I feel like Smith and Delhomme are going to get injured fairly soon in the season...
THEN ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE!

I'm predicting 8-8. This preseason they haven't shown me much offensively or defensively.

Defensively they were alright tonight I thought, but the offense scares me to death injured or not. They cant get it together what so ever and Ive never seen so many turn overs by a Panther team pre season or not. They got alot of things to figure out and to get better at before they go to St Louis against a Ram team that remembers last years game. :g:

Well I wont account for score in the preseason games because that's meaningless considering the teams dont use a gameplan.
I look at the rhythem of the team. Personally I dont think the zone blocking scheme looks any better than the one last year. I think the O-line is just pretty poor overall. They opened VERY few visible holes in the preseason.
Delhomme looked to be off in his timing in most of the preseason. Guys dropped alot of nicely thrown balls too.
I wont account for injuries that haven't happened because that's just too hypothetical.
I think if the team performs up to their expected capability, I have them at 10-6 (losing in week 1).
I think if they perform better than expected that they can go 11-5 .
I think if they come out looking like they looked in the preseason, I'll give them 8-8.
HOWEVER, if that defense looks in the regular season like it did in the preseason, we may as well go ahead and forfeit the games and just plan for next year.

off topic a bit but Screaming A Smith actually picked us to be a wild card at 9-7.

Damnit. Oh well, we might as well cancel the season now.

I'll believe it when I see it. Jake better get off his butt this season because most people I talk to have all noticed that he has slacked off more and more since the super bowl year. If he dont get it together I think Carr will end up in that spot before seasons end and thats not really getting any better at the position. Unless we have signed some good safties we are going to be chasing recievers all over the field. To me it isnt looking too pretty right now, hopefully Coach Fox has some trumps hidden away up his sleeves. :g:
Go Panthers! Go Bobcats!
