Well the Panthers are 1-0 who would have thought? Next week we play the Texans at home in Charlotte who are also 1-0 and looked really good in their 20-3 butt kicking of KC. What are our chances that we win? I myself think if we play as we did in week 1 we will win the game. We are 0-1 against the Texans during regular season and Im not sure if we have ever beaten them during preseason because all I can remember is losing to them and losing the SuperBowl in their stadium.

Mario Williams scares me a bit gotta admit that dudes is a beast but I think we'll win in a pretty tight game.

Dude, Kansas City looked god awful against the Browns of all teams, so they're probably not as good as they indicated in their week 1 game.
Panthers win 24 - 20.

I also predict the Panthers to win. I just think the score will be more lopsided. 35-17 Panthers. Next week it'll be Keary Colbert's week to catch passes. Texans will be prepared for Drew, and well NOBODY is prepared for steve smith. Who do you think poses a threat for scoring on us in their running game as much as the rams back did. He is ranked as like the 2nd best back in the league and we shut him down quick. Not to mention what we did against their WR's. Sorry I don't see this as a very difficult game. Colbert will have 2 TD's at least.

Yeah, I gotta say, what we did to Jackson last week was incredible. Any time you can keep him down to 3.2 yds/carry, you're doing your job right. He was getting nowhere, and we caused two fumbles on him. In addition, the only receiver that put up any kind of numbers for the Rams was Holt (my personal favorite player in the NFL I might add), but by the second half, he wasn't doing much either.
I won't guess a score for this week, but I'll bet we win by around two touchdowns. I think that the key for this weekend will be to take what we did last weekend and rinse and repeat. The Panthers should be 2-0 by Monday.

Assuming all Panthers players stay healthy:
Panthers win 24-10.
Peppers gets two sacks.
Beason and Morgan get six tackles a piece.
Jake throws one really bad interception, one long touchdown to Smitty, and one short pass from inside the red zone to Jeff King.
Kasay hits a field goal.
DeAngelo (My apologies if this is spelled wrong) gets his first touchdown of the season.
And yes, I have football fever =) God I love the sports season!

I like everything except the really bad interception that Jake throws. I think Foster gets 75 yards and Williams gets 70 yards for a combined 20 carries. I think the defence even scores this week. :g:

Speaking of scoring on D I want to see a INT returned for a TD just to show our corner backs/Safety's are being active.

My boy said he was talking to Jenkins, King, and Jerrett, at the bar monday night . And they told him they could easly go five and zero to start the season .
BTW - My son said Jinkins is a monster and fat as hell. Clocking in at around 350 or so.He said King AND Jerrett are jacked hardly any fat just mussle.
He all so said he was trying to get in with one of the babes they had with them . But the girls wanted no part of it. [He can get all most any gril he wants ] but not those grils. They left the bar a couple hours later with a hot chick on each arm . He all so said all three was nice guys buying him and his best frind drinks.

One thing we all need to remember is that the Texans arent coming here to lose Sunday, they want to win as much as we do and from alot of the articles Ive read and things Ive heard on ESPN the Texans are alot better this year so we dont want to take them too lightly because they can sneak up on us and "nip us in the bud". I hope coach Fox relizes that and can get the guys right in the head for the game. :g:

nobody sneaks up on Fox!
I agree with everybody who has said the Texans are improved, they are very much so.
I just think that Carolina has become what they were supposed to be last year and will be there at the end of the season fighting to go lose to the patriot's in the Super Bowl. Oh, the pat's will have a good year. They will not lose! I hate them, but they are the most talented team I've seen since the Cowboys with Aikman and Smith etc. 72 Dolphins won't be drinking champain this year.

We need to win this game and go 2-0, that way we'll still have a winning record when Joey Harrington leads the Falcons to a victory over us. ^-^

this game will go a big way in predicting how their season will go. if they win, they will have shown they can be consistent on offense and defense. if they lose, they most likely will have a stagnant offense like they did the whole preseason (which by the way means nothing, but their O looked horrible before the season). i'll say they win 20-14.
mario williams will be the 2nd best defensive end in the game by the way

The Texans are a very good team as seen today but 30+ unanswered points is terrible not many positives to speak on today.

I got tired of hearing the annoucers saying that the Texans did such a great job stopping our run. We only tried to run it 8 times! From a team that is supposed to be run first. We also were averaging over 4 yards a carry! That is good! Keep running it.
I don't think we over looked them, but we sure couldn't play worth a shit this week. I also was saying this was going to be Colbert's week to shine, I now think it's his week to be cut. The boy just can't catch a football.

I don't think I've ever seen the wheels come off like that before. The mood at the game was sickening guys, everybody could feel it coming and then..BAM. It just seemed as if the team just gave up. The only positives I saw out of the game were: Steve Smith (As usual, this guy has so much heart, it's very admirable).
Jon Beason (Literally every other play his name was getting called).
Other than those two, two thumbs down from me as far as effort goes. Not a happy Panther fan today.
On an interesting side note, I overhead a few people talking about the good ole Bobcats. I even saw a few pieces of merchandise, so that was encouraging to see.

Just to correct you, The Panthers ran it 19 times for 67 yards, averaging 3.7 yards/carry.
I agree that up until after the Texans first score in the 3rd quarter, they should kept pounding the ball to Williams. They definitely need a banger.

Yeah, no more predictions from me. We looked like a bunch of little boys out there this week the way our balls were dropped. I'll give Carter his diving miss. We sure could've used it and it went right through his arms, but that would be real tough to make. But Colbert... I don't know what to say. Hit in the numbers twice and not catching the ball is a sure-fire way to break an offenses spirit. I hope we can look better against Atlanta, because if we can't get it together against Atlanta....

Same ole Panthers. Cant win at home against a team they should beat. Smitty's 3 TDs were amazing, but outside of that this team got their ass kicked. Julius Peppers has dissapeared.

Dude, I couldn't agree more. Especially with your statement about Pep. Where the hell has he gone? It's like he just stopped playing football. They need to stop trying to be cute with him, and stick his ass at DE where he is supposed to play.

For us to supposely have a "Top 5 DL" we sure as hell haven't shown it. We've gotten zero pass rush what so ever. 1 sack in 2 games against the Rams without Pace for a good portion of the game and the Texans who have given up 381684579814731683476 sacks in recent history. Not good at all.
Colbert can't catch. I honestly don't know how he wasn't cut this past off-season. Carter's WAY to inconsistent. I mean damn. Just put Jarret out there and see what he can do. There's no way he can do any worse than Colbert and Carter.
For the Love of God. We sure as hell show a better peformance against the Falcons. They're awful this year and there's no reason why we shouldn't stomp them on Sunday.

I have my own theories about our passive approach to a so called pass rush.
For some reason, Trgo does not have much confidence in our secondary. That's because they suck. However, for a good zone coverage to work, we have to have a fast middle linebacker who can cover receivers to decent effect. Our middle linebacker is Dan Morgan...who seems to forget that a receiver can run deep if he wants to.
I'd much rather get burnt on a blitz than in our sad zone coverage attempt at defensive football. We give up free yards on every play. It's a joke.
Don't even get me started on the D-line.
The good news?
Sometimes our defense looks really good. But, to quote my brother, it's like their inconsistency runs from quarter to quarter. One quarter they are the defense that everybody thinks they can be, and another they are the most overrated in the NFL.
At least we get Atlanta this weekend. We REALLY need to beat them and the Bucs.

After watching todays game; I think our defence has some serious issues, the secondary isnt playing good at all and the line isnt playing very good. Right now they dont look like a championship defence to me. Now Jake is hurt (elbow) and Carr is in, Jake better get well quick if Carr plays good. Running game looked great and passing game didnt......Its going to be a long season, next week home against Tampa Bay and we better be on our toes for them or they "WILL" beat us good.... :g:

Or that he had a good day against a god awful secondary. Among the names of Palmer, Manning, Brady, and Rivers or among the Kitna's, Garrards of the world?

That's the most frustrating thing with him. He looks great, then gets injured or falls back to earth.
