Carolinas Caravan

I got an email from the Bobcats saying the Carolinas Caravan would be going to Asheville, NC on Thursday of this week. Has anyone here ever been to one of these events? I am trying to determine if I should drive the hour it would take me to get there.

I've never been, but I think there's usually 2 or 3 players there...Felton's been around as well as Knight.

I know one thing; I'm going to be at the YMCA in Raleigh on September 27.

Natasha is in that pic...is she still with the squad? I hope, as she's to drool for. :dribble:

The Bobcats site now has it on there. It says it will be Jason Richardson, Raymond Felton, Matt Carroll, Adam Morrison, Ryan Hollins, and Coach Vincent. It sounds cool, so I hope I can make it to Asheville on Thursday.

That logo is actually pretty rad :afro: I hope I can hit the event in Cornelius up. Sounds like a fun way for the fans to give some players their due props.

It would be nice if they just scrapped that ugly primary they have a midcourt and just used that "pretty rad" one instead as our primary and the current secondary would remain our secondary.

And I agree that if that's our new logo, it's pretty cool. It's more fierce to represent our new team better. The addition of JRich needed a fierce change!

So I went to the YMCA in Asheville today. It was a sad turnout of fans which was disappointing. Adam Morrison was the only player there which turned out great for me as he's my favorite. Dell Curry and Buzz Petersen were also there. It was a fun event. I got to play basketball on the pop shot game against Adam which, of course, I lost. He felt sorry for me and shot the ball into my basket a couple of times. I got some great pictures, had some stuff signed, and got a t-shirt, pennant, and poster. I had a lot of fun and am really glad I went.

It seems that there is just going to be one player at each stop. Ryan Hollins was yesterday and Adam was today, so I guess JRich, Ray, and Carroll will be at the remaining stops. I hope some of you are able to go.

Great that you got to play on the pop shot game against the guy you like the most! Pity you lost. You should have had Ammo defend you - because ANYONE can score on Ammo!!

So if you got to meet your hero and all is fair in the world, Spectre will get to meet Jrich when he sees the boys play the preseason game and EO50 will drink beers with me after the Raps game in April!!

Bumpus: I agree that our mascot Rufus is styled to reflect the image of a pimp; I've always thought he was kind of an embarrassment to the team. I cringe whenever he comes near my area of the arena.

As for the logo; I guess I'm gonna be contrary here. I don't care for it. 1. the colors are washed out, 2. its a DIRECT rip-off of the T-Wolves logo.

But I don't care, its just a mascot and a logo. I like what the team is doing with the caravan and lov'im anyways.

Couldn't imagine being a Knicks fan and saying that.

There were only a handful of people there at 3:00 when it started. Sad! From looking at the pictures on the Bobcats website, it looks like a lot more people showed up later. Maybe when people got off work or kids got out of school.

I'm glad you guys have enjoyed seeing the pics. I had a great time.

The new logo must be what they're going to use because they were giving out t-shirts and that was the logo on the front.

Big Slam - really funny comment about having Adam defend me so I could score! I should have tried that because I was doing really bad. I guess it doesn't matter because it's not every day you get to shoot against an NBA player, win or lose. :D

If anyone else goes to another stop on the Caravan, be sure to post and tell the rest of us all about it!!
