Their review of Eastern Conference bubble teams (http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_23320.shtml)

CHARLOTTE: The Charlotte Hornets get credit for pulling off the most unlikely trade of the summer. When they drafted Carolina's Brandan Wright with the eighth overall pick in the draft many pundits wondered aloud if Michael Jordan was going too far in trying to keep local products close to home. The craze surrounding college basketball in North Carolina is well-documented, as is the trouble the Bobcats have had filling their arena. Still, eight seemed a little high for Wright . . .at least until the Bobcats announced a trade. In sending Wright to the Golden State Warriors for Jason Richardson the Bobcats added exactly what they needed: a serious scoring threat on the break and in the half-court set, as well as a proven veteran with playoff experience. They also drafted Jared Dudley with pick #22 and he looked solid in Las Vegas, where he was working out with guys like Kevin Garnett, Baron Davis, Al Harrington, and Antoine Walker for a good piece of the summer. The team re-signed free agents Matt Carroll and Gerald Wallace, thus addressing all of their major needs. If Emeka Okafor can finally stay healthy the Bobcats might finally sniff the postseason. But that's a big "if." Bill Ingram

sigh...

What can you say . The whole damn league gives us no respect. I hope we become the Bobcats it we start winning.
I JUST CAN'T BELIVE HOW STUPID AND UNIMFORMED THEASE REPORTORS ARE..........

haha, thats kinda funny, i would think a casual sports fan would know when a new team was added to the league and they would know their name. no one calls the ravens the browns or anything, thats just retarded

That's pretty unacceptable. That's about all I can say I guess.

Just one of milion examples of that stupid situation. I really suspect that they are doing this delibaretely. Otherwise they're extremely.... Oh, well, I'd better stop here.

Why do we need to gain more respect before we can hear our name correctly? Is there any sensible explanation for that? Is this a vendetta? If it is, for what?

That artical gave me Deja Vu. Even people who dont follow the Bobcats prolly got Deja Vu from that too. Reading that took years off my life. Years I wont ever get back.

It'll end when we become the Warriors from last year.

But I am sick of how other people see our team. This year I plan on staying away from ESPN because they dont know anything. Plus it'll get me all worked up and I wont enjoy the season. Not only staying away from them but more threads like this. Nothing against who posted this, just warn me not to read it before hand to save me the trouble.

Bobcats in the playoffs - That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it :cheers1:

Here ya go Bumpus! I wrote to him and said...

In review of Eastern Conference bubble teams, please remember this, the New Orleans Bobcats are the best and they aren’t in Utah.

He wrote back and said.

You're the first one to catch that, believe it or not.
Yes, I still catch myself saying Charlotte Hornets from time to time.

Haha. I think we'll definitely be hounding any reporter that leaves us an e-mail addy to hound them about any future name mistakes ^-^

Something tells me that when the Lakers moved to LA, they didn't get called the "Minneapolis Lakers" any more. I can't think of a case quite like Charlotte's with the nba: lose a team, and get a new one. When Cleveland lost the Browns, they still called their new team the Browns. Not saying I like people getting it wrong, or think it should happen when someone is publishing an article, but it is an unusual circumstance.

I wonder how many times the reporters called the New Orleans Hornets the Charlotte Hornets or the New Orleans Jazz? Or; How many times they called the Utah Jazz the New Orleans Jazz. LOL I dont think grizzleys had this problem because "hell" I cant hardly remember where it was in Canada they started out. :g:
