Today was launch day. Is anybody rocking Halo 3 yet?
Damn, I want this game but I haven't unhinged my wallet to buy a 360 yet.

I have a 360 and a lot of people I know got the game, but I didn't. I don't have 60$ for the game. Although I want it. I play a lot of Gears of War and everyone on there says that the Campaign for Halo 3 is awesome but they say that the online is nothing special.
I'll probably get the game for Christmas or whenever I get the money.

Ziggy,
Just do yourself a favor and get the system and the game bro.
If you like sci-fi as much as I think you do, you owe it to yourself to purchase. Now I'm not saying go out and get it if it would be financially irresponsible of you, but you if you can afford it, DO IT!.
The campaign itself is completely stunning. Not to mention the fact that you can have a four player co-op campaign (Which is perfect for me, because I hate playing video games on single player).
The multiplayer mode is obviously going to be a tad bit less aesthetically pleasing than the regular campaign. However, it's still better than Halo 2.
This is a game that you will honestly have a hard time putting down. Sports games are really my cup of tea, but Halo is one of the few that everybody must stop to enjoy. It's just that good man.
It really is the Star Wars of the gaming generation.
If you guys ever do get it, my g/t is edrow2000. I usually play the Team Slayer games.
Oh, and one more thing. Perhaps the best part about playing Halo 3 is the lack of lag. There is absolutely no lag in any part of the multiplayer game. You don't have to worry about Bungie's servers being overloaded or anything. They've got their shit together with this one. Good good stuff!

Edrow,
You talked me into it. Unless I have a burst of semi-responsibility in the next day or 2, then I'm picking it up on Friday

Ziggy,
You will not be disappointed. This is the one title that I think everybody can enjoy. Halo is perfect for casual gamers because the controls are so user friendly. More importantly, It's just so damn easy to go online and play. Microsoft and Bungie did a great job with preparing the servers. I can't stress how awesome and easy it is to just pick up the sticks and play.
Bumpus,
Not to be nosy, but do you work for the Microsoft office here in Charlotte? That's awesome that you get to play this game at work.
Sorry for the long rave about Halo. But hey, I'm just trying to spread the love for this game.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the obsession with this game? ???
I've played the Halo series a lot but I don't find anything about it that is anything special... I think it's good, I just don't understand all the hype the games get.

Ha, no. I wish I did in fact. I've actually done intern work with Microsoft while I was doing summer courses for Devry in Columbus, OH (same building). I did some beta testing and quality assurance work and that was sweet. I also am a Best Buy Services Manager and have a few resources at work - I was able to play the final edition a while back at work before it was released. Now that it's released, when I'm not barking orders I get to stand on the sales floor and play it
Gotta say, I love my jobs

Well guys....say goodbye to Ziggy.
LOL, I'd never bail on BCP, as weird as it sounds this site is my baby :rkiss0:
Let me just say however that its game is damned impressive. I'm trying to make it through the game on heroic and I'm getting demolished.
If you have a XBox gamertag post it here (http://www.bobcatsplanet.com/joomla/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,70/topic,4943), I'd love to add some of you guys to my list

i brought it the 2nd day it was out in Australia. I think the obsession with the game is that the multiplayer kicks arse, There is also a lack of quality games on the Xbox and PS I yearn for the days of supernintendo and the 64! Iv beaten it on heroic by myself just now and mw and my bro are doing heroic together. i think the campaign is a little dissapointing because of the lack of levels, Being the nerd I am I expect very shooter game to be the next goldeneye

Check out Gilbert Arenas' halo profile (http://www.bungie.net/stats/PlayerStatsHalo3.aspx?player=Agent%20Arenas)
and accusations that he has been cheating to get a high ranking (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2007/10/is_gilbert_cheating_at_halo.html#more)

Oh wow this is a great find! I didn't know he was in to Halo. I knew he liked video games though.
Good for him!

I just read the article. That is classic!
He does have a point though. It would be lots different if it were ranked games.
On a side note, I'm not a fan of accusing people of cheating on this game. Someone accused me of doing that lag trick and gave me unsportsmanlike bad feedback. That's pretty sad.

I love that feature in this version of Halo. You can find great screenshots in almost every match.

I've never seen one coordinated with the enemies (sp?) name over their head like that though. Pretty cool I must say.
I saw on the bungie website that they were expanding the Big Team Battle social mode to 16 players, and tuning down the Shotty Snipers mode on Team Slayer for ranked mode. They just keep making it better and better.
I wonder how long it will be before they release new maps? :g:

Hey Edrow,
Are you going to jump on these new Halo 3 maps on December 11th?

Yes sir,
I believe the Microsoft Points will equate to like 10 bucks? So I'm definitely going to.
Lately I've had a hard time playing b/c I keep getting teamed up with jerks on Team Slayer, which has caused my ranking to go down.
So I just discovered the great new world of Lone Wolves, where nobody is accountable for my actions but me. It's awesome!
Anyways, yeah I'm for sure getting the three new maps. It's a small price to pay for a game that is never going to get old (Although for X-mas I'm purchasing Guitar Hero III, so who knows where that will take me!)
