I realize that its early, we only have summer league, training camp and one preseason game to go by, but from everything that I've read Jermareo seems to be surprising a lot of people with his level of play so far.

Do you guys think that he may be the guy that steps up and grabs a big chunk of those post minutes instead of Ryan this season?

From what I saw from Davidson in summerleague he seems like the better prospect of the two and if I'm not mistaken he's a little bigger than Hollins it should be a interesting battle to say the least between those two at the 5 spot.

Well at the game last night i saw that Jamaero was a lot more relaxed last night than Ryan was. Hollins would panic a lot and force a miss of a turnover.

Davidson was calm and shooting well. I called him baby Duncan last night.

Davidson 1
Hollins 0

so far.

I think we should start Davidson for at least 1 pre-season game instead of Hollins and see how he plays with our starters. In my opioin I think he would do quite well with Felton, Crash, Jrich, and EO50 along side him.

I really don't think either is ready to start at five. Ok50 should start thair. But let both compeat for key back up mins. I would give the edge to Davidson now because he's a little bigger. And seems to be a little better on offence.

Lot of Hollins hate on here today. its only been one game.

I agree that it's only one game, and ORL was probably the worst first test we could have had for Hollins.

That being said, I had doubts before and they're just as strong as ever.

I hope that Hollins or Davidson works out but I think we're crazy not starting Okafor at C. We did great with him there and Herrmann at PF, why just stop all of a sudden?

My guess is: We need him to last longer than 15 games...What were we talking about again, oh Twiggy and JD2. Someone has to step up.
either one is fine with me.

Hollins is ok for me right now, I'm not ready to kick him off the "island" yet...Jermareo Davidson, I've been a fan of, and think he should get a start or so in the preseason so we can compare. Jermareo has his on and off games, not too sure on his defense, as I'd love to see him become a blocker, and I think he could easily start over Davidson, but I'm with Mustachio, I think we have to give Hollins some time...

maybe too was expected of hollins that why he's getting the heat while jermareo was on the other end. we'll see how they progress this season. we've got nice big projects you know...

I think you've really hit on it, tadsz. We are probably expecting a little too much from Hollins right now and it's still the preseason. So long as the main four guys are on during the regular season, then we'll be alright. If Morrison continues what he's been doing lately, then all the better. I think one of these guys will come along and Coach V will recognize it. This is the time where they are allowed to gain experience and it won't hurt anything record-wise.

^^yeah, it's all about gaining experience and adjust to the system in the pre-season. nothing really worrisome about the present results i think.

Hollins is never going to be a super star - but neither was Luc Longley with the Bulls or Oberto with the Spurs etc. We just need him to play smart, accountable ball and be a 2nd shot blocker/changer and he'll be ok IMO.

Well said...totally agree.

And to get that from a 50th pick is just gravy.

davidson has impressed me a lot so far...did great in summer league and hasn't really had an off game yet in the preseason as well. could be a great steal for us considering he was packaged in with our go to scorer jrich

As much as I want to give Hollins the chance to be our center, IMO I think Jermareo Davidson has to start day 1 there, he has done fantastic so far through the preaseason, and is a very good defender (3 steals & a block tonight). Hollins hasn't been as impressive IMO...

Agreed gents; I have been pushing that in the chat room during the games. Jermareo plays the brds better, gets steals, and shoots a higher % from FG and FT. He is only a Rookie, but he may be more special than any of us imagined. He earned the chance to play

Gonna have to agree with you tadsz. We can't expect a double double from em, but just let them have their own competition for minutes. Right now, I'd pick Davidson.

I went to the game tonight and I was surprised at how tall JD was. he was agressive enough for my taste and had a nose for the goal. Should be interesting.

davidson will be starting by mid season... a great compliment to okafor and would have been a higher pick if he hadn't had personal troubles last year... and he could probably average double figures in points if we are gonna run... good post moves and a nice jumper... but hollins will still be a factor with primoz at the 5

yeah, he's producing consistently this pre-season. but twiggy shws a lot of promise as the games progresses.

and davidson looks much much better now than our team's actual 8th pick this draft.

wright who?

LOL; everybody now knows we took advantage of Golden State in that trade for J-Rich and The Davidson pick. Davidson is going to be a monster and I agree that if he keeps up his progress he will be a starter sooner than anyone ever expected.... :g:

In summer league and in the game I saw last night Davidson looks better no doubt. Neither one is even an average rebounder or defender imo but at least Davidson has an offensive game. On defense neither one of them have differentiated themselves from one another, they haven't even proved to be better rebounders or defenders than Fabio at this point. However if Vincent wants to play a big Davidson would be my choice. I'll give Hollins his chance to improve because his athleticism is very intriguing but we can't experiment with him too long and keep better players on the bench.

Im on the Davidson bandwagon right now too. The kid is much better than i ever thought. With this devolopment where does that leave Dudley . With Morrison and Davidson playing so well? If we had any idea Morrison was coming out so strong we may have never got J-Rich.

BTW Im happy for Mustashio for sticking by Morrison during all the hard times . Congrats to him for never giving in .Mustachio he's just becoming better trade bait ever game now. LOL

I see everybodies points about who starts and who dont, who to trade and who not to, so on and so on; I now think we should keep what we got this year or at least close to the trade deadline. The more I watch Morrison or hear about Morrison this season, the more I want to keep him. Now if we are struggeling at the 5 maybe then do a trade. Right now Im more worried with the 1 spot, Felts really needs to get it into gear. Micinnis isnt doing any better really; our UNC boys need to step it up and get busy.... :g:

I compleatly agree with you . I kid Mustashio a lot about Morrison and Mustachio has been by his side through thick and thin. Feltons timing is off or somthing . But hes got what he wanted the team now he has to deliver . So far he hasen't. I am a die hard Carolina fan but Felts is not producing so far.
