What do we do with Premoz. So far hes just pissing me off. Is it not a way to cut his ass because of him not showing up and use that money for another player. The NBA should do somthing thet don't penalize when that team loses players due to season long injery. Or because a player chooses not to play. Your thoughts on Premoz

I just think that he should get his ass back to the team. We're thin with bigs and at least with Primoz we have a big that has an offensive game. Although, I'd still like to see Hollins start the next couple pre-season games and see if he can improve.

I'm pasting a Primoz post I made on realgm earlier. Also forgot to mention that this is a contract year for him so he has every incentive to perform big for us......
I love Hollins and am really pulling for him but he is simply not a starting caliber center. His 37 minute performance last night reaffirmed this. Ironically enough, although most people view Primoz’ absence as an after thought, I think he will end up making or breaking our season.
Look, the guy is not flashy and will never be mistaken as an upper echelon five. But, we need a legit, serviceable big to plug the hole in the middle and a healthy Brezec fits that bill far better than Hollins or anyone we can pick up in free agency/off waivers.
People forget that he was a 13 pt 7.5 reb and 1block player for us in 04-05 while shooting over 50%. He saw his minutes and production fall slightly the following year and last season he barely played.
He’s hardly what you’d consider a great post defender but at 7’1 and 250, he does a competent enough job that he’s not consistently embarrassed or pushed around. With May out for the season and probably forever, Brezec is the best (and arguably only) low post scorer at center we have on the roster. Plus, he hits 15 foot jumper at an almost automatic clip.
So, if the Primoz from the first two seasons reports healthy and ready to log 30-35 minutes a night, I think we’ll be in pretty good shape. However, if the Brezec from last year shows up unfit to play due to “exhaustion” or family distractions, I think we could be in for some real trouble with Hollins or a free agent journeyman having to play big minutes at the 5.

What would you guys think about trying to trade Premoz and Harringtons contract and a 1st top 5 protected for say a J .Oneal or a Willcox, sombody like that. To some team who want's to rebuild. Don't know who the Timberwolfs have but mabe some one on thair team. Portland , or the knicks, Ideas......................
BTW , 123 I compleatly agree with your post . And welcome to the messege board.

I fell into the same trap of assuming that because Primoz posted decent numbers, it was good to have him on the floor. I was wrong - http://www.queencityhoops.com/NotSoPrimoz.php - even in his first couple of seasons with the team, the Bobcats were a far better club with him off the floor.

Also wanted to add - I don't know what Primoz's family situation is that he is out dealing with, but I (and I am sure, all of you) am wishing the best for him in that situation.

The sad thing...since Coach V is so adamant at playing Mek at the 4 Primoz is still the best option over everyone else.
That's depressing.

I pretty much agree with what spectre had to say; The numbers with Primoz on the floor speak for themselves but if Coach V insists on playing Okafor at the 4, the statistics with Hollins on the floor will likely be even uglier

Not that I dont agree with alot of whats being said on this thread; but it was just the first pre season game; dont go into panic mode yet....Primoz will be back and Hollins will get better. Davidson looks good so far and I cant wait to see Dudley play. Coach V coached his first game last night which like I said in another post its like playing a video game for the first time, getting used to the controlls and see what all does what.... :g:

Has there been any word yet if Primoz' family issues could last into the regular season?

Yeah, I wish Bonnell would give us some blog updates on his status.
