I like the center Watkins myself, he's not the great of a scorer from last night, but he had 2 blocked shots and 8 rebounds in 19 minutes last night..could be a nice 3rd stringer at center behind Premoz and Hollins...Watson didn't do too bad either..

I like both "W's" Watkins and Watson they both rebounded good but between them they had 6 TO's and only 9 Pts, they did good at the free throw line but FG % they both need work there. I think if all the guys keep progressing, keep what we got for now and if its just awful then do a trade before the deadline if we can find someone we like at the 4-5 spot for one of the wings. Although Carroll had alot of pts last night in 24 minutes, he didnt have any rebounds or assists, whats up with that? He did have 1 steal but where is his defence? ::)

Carroll with a six year gig would not that easy to trade.
Hes a cpeap long term beanch player . I don't ever see him as consistant starter. It will be hard for either to make the roster. Watson rebounds well and seems to be able to get assist. As i don't like Torchs game at all . I wish we would have signed Dee Brown instead of Torch. Guess thats why im so interested WATSON because my dislike for Torch.

Blazer's Notebook (http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/sports/1192328717111530.xml&coll=7&thispage=2)
Blazers gain an exception: The Blazers applied, and were rewarded with, an injury disabled exception by the NBA in lieu of center Greg Oden's season-ending knee surgery. If the team wishes, it has until Oct. 31 to sign a player who makes no more than half of Oden's $4.6 million salary.
However, if the Blazers do sign a player for $2.3 million or less, they must release one on their current roster because the team is already at the NBA maximum of 15 players under contract.
"If you see me use this exception, it means I really feel great about who we are bringing in, because that means we have to give up on somebody to bring somebody in," Pritchard said. "We applied and got the exception just in case there is an opportunity, but at this time it's unlikely that it will be used."
I must have misread that in the rules. If that's the case I do not see us adding anyone even if we do get an exception unless we can talk Harrington into retiring...which dosn't appear likely.

Well I think they had 16 people on their roster, and since Oden is cut off it goes to 15, not allowing them to sign anyone...I still want to sign the Center Watkins...

Walkins is playing solid so far. I could see us keeping him . He hits the boards good and fills need. After the first three games he's been more solid than Hollins. I think he has a chance. Forget Watson it's no way after last game.

As I mentioned in the chatroom last night:
The Bobcats trimmed the preseason roster by three, cutting undrafted rookies Deji Akindele, Marcus Campbell and Gabe Muoneke.
-Charlotte Observer (At Bottom) (http://www.charlotte.com/bobcats/story/317080.html)
Deji played 4 minutes in the second preseason game, only stat on the whole board...was FOUR personal fouls...so I'm glad he was cut...

Watkins might make it if we get a roster exception for May..but how come we havnt seen Derek Anderson play at all in preseason?? i thot Vincent would want to look at him since he's our potential 3rd string PG
Don't need to see what a guy like DA can do. We already know. He's a proven commodity. Best to try keep his old legs fresh for the season.
