I hated everything about this preview, from his initial complaining about having to write about the Bobcats to his general lack of knowledge about the team.

Yeah, here's another one:

Makes me so mad... If they think we're so not worth it, then why waste their time?

A quote from the above link....

Vincent used words like "disappointed... discouraged" in describing how he would feel if the Bobcats, who averaged 25.7 victories their first three seasons, do not play in the postseason. After reading his expectations, I was leaning more toward the word "delusional," but that's just me.

Did you get a load of this? Why does every reporter have to make a cut at our team. Every last one of them do it. They can all go to hell.... :g:

Yes, these fellows are one of the reasons I stayed away from sports journalism, despite my interest in the subject. The arrogance, which is used as a mask for their ignorance; their "holier-than-thou" approach to "analyzing" sports, in this case, pro basketball. They lose sight of the fact, that their opinions are only that, and not fact. Maybe seeing their feeble-minded words and syntax in print gives them something akin to a god-complex, or maybe they read too much Rick Reilly and forget that sports journalism doesn't always equate to sports editorialism; Ricky Reilly is generally funny and self-effacing; most of these incompetents we've come across here have no concept of craft and subtlety, and just put their fingers to keys and hack-out a thousand or so monosyllabic words indicating how clever they are. I actually thought about writing a reply to the individual from the Star-Telegram, but then he may get the idea someone actually cares about his articles. Let's just be content in the fact that we're more adept to do his job than he is, and in that way, we should pity him

Same thought crossed my mind. I mean, I know that they're just being dicks about it for the purpose of selling papers or magazines, and I should just ignore them. BUT, they're being so douchey about it...

Hey, I'll tell you what we do. Hold onto the e-mail site for Jan. Let's watch as the season progresses. Then, when the time is right, we can all individually e-mai Jan and make him eat his words till he vomits! Nohing better than shoving their own words right back in their face.

That idea's not half bad...

My thoughts exactly.

man oh man, you guys have fight. I'll give you that! but seriously, you keep talkin about how this season is going to be a HUGE difference, and what i wanna know is what exact defining moment will you consider your season to be a sucess? is it just making it to the post season? is it winning the division? or is it beating my suns? (http://www.bobcatsplanet.com/joomla/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,70/topic,4860.45)

just curious.

Just because Amare takes an ignorant jab at us does NOT make the Suns relevant in regards to our success.

Obviously our first goal will be to make the playoffs, and as the Suns are in the West they mean no more than the other 15 in that conference.

Hey, I'll grant you that the Suns may have more talent at this time. They are a legitimate top 3 team. But I am willing to bet our guys would be smart enough to know when to stay on the sidelines and not get kicked out of a Playoff game and possibly cost us a title! Talented hot headed morons who will not win a title - Phoenix Suns.

One thing they need to remember in Phoenix, we have just as many championships as they do.... :g:

Joeeeee, I'll bite. My idea of a success this season begins with the Bobcats showing the Charlotte community that they are the same classy team who doesn't give up a game without a fight that I've come to know over the past few seasons. Beyond that, I expect a continuation of the increased wins that we've seen every year.

NOW, what I want to happen, (and also don't see too far outside the realm of possibility), is making the playoffs.

As for us aiming for being on top of the division... how does that saying go, "Shoot for the moon, and you'll land among the stars." Maybe we will, maybe we won't, but if we go into it thinking we can't, then we definitely won't.

Go Bobcats.

Well said Muttley, well said! That pretty much sums it up for me.

Wow, I missed this thread while on my bobcatsplanet sabbatical. I thought the guy had more class than that. Oh well, it looks like most of you took the high road on this, as opposed to some of those Suns fans who gave "asinine" unsolicited posts, proving that we are the best fans out there!!
