Wow, Wallace had a great game (34pts, 10rebs, 2 stls, and 2 blocks), but my God...we got KILLED on the boards. Atl out-rebounded us 45-29. Somethings gotta be done about that. We won't win a lot of games getting beasted on the boards like that. Thank God we shot well in this game because if we hadn't then this game would have been over with early.

Dang we lost a 2nd time to Atlanta. Where is the rebounding. Morrison has cooled off. Felton did better 13 pts and out assisted his turn overs 5 to 3. Our rebounding isnt where it needs to be, Oka4 only had 2 rebounds in 45 minutes..... :g:

F', the poor kids! Wish the 'Cats coulda gotten a win today for the kids in attendance.

Anyways, looking at the stats, Wallace really played well. Unfortunately, some rookie punk named Al played well too. (Man, I wish we could have gotten even the 3rd pick in the draft. The benefits from drafting 8th are emense and well documented - JRich and beast-to-be Super Mario. But, Horford is gonna be big for Atlanta. Real Big.)

We can't afford to be out rebounded like this (no crap, right?). Looks like Hollins started again. 3 rebounds in 18 minutes. Mario only played 6 minutes and got 1 rebound. What happened to him? Why so few minutes? Last, Emeka played a whopping 45 minutes. He also got 2 rebounds in that time. That's absurd. We gotta do better than that.

I figure most of us were at work or school during the game, but does anyone have any further insight?

I went to the game this morning. I went through the season ticket holder entrance to avoid the MOB of kids and the ticket clerk gave me new seats for the game. Section 105 row A. That is center court 3rd row. It was awesome. I wish our normal crowd was as loud as the kids today. It was like Arco Arena in there!

Yeah, I saw that, and I'm still thinking that had to be a typo; seriously, I don't believe it. Plus, why the hell would he play all but 3 minutes of a preseason game. He only took like 4 or 5 shots?!?!?! There's a typo in there somewhere. Must've played 15 minutes; that makes more sense.

It can't be a typo unless there was a typo elsewhere in the box score as well. The total minutes on the box score is 241, which when you account for 5 players on the court at all time is 48.2/players on the court. There's rounding due to the fact that the box score pt column doesn't account for seconds and they probably round all the pt figures up.

Therefore, Emeka Okafor, the glue that keeps our team together on the court, the guy that we're looking to resign to a long term contract sometime in the next two weeks, the guy that IS our frontcourt... was playing 45 minutes in a Preseason game.

Was it because oka4 was the only answer we had for Hortford? I didnt see or hear the game I am only trying to figure out why they would play him 45 minutes in a 48 minute preseason game.... :-\

Hortford used him the whole game. OK 50 NEVER SHOWS UP MUCH IN THE PRESEASON, He played 45 mins and hardly got a pass on offence . And he got used on defence. Coach acted like he got pissed early in the first with Hollins and Davidson and the didnt play much the rest of the game. But he didn't give mins to Fabio . He stayed small playing mostly Carroll and Morrison the rest of the game . It was either getting killed on the boards or a fast break.

I really don't understand why Fabio has been getting so little playing time. The little bit he has played, he hasn't looked great, but he has looked above average.

Take this for what it's worth...but a poster on another forum said that he talked to a staff member and he said Fabio no longer has a translater and is having a hard time grasping our new system. He said the staff member reminded him that Fabio took half a season to learn Bernie's "system" (Bernie had a system???).

Personally I find it hard to believe that we'd let something so trivial stop us from utilizing one our best players to close out last season...but I guess anything's possible.

I think Vincent is getting a bit obsessive about Okafor being at PF and having other people at C. With Okafor on the court for like 35 minutes a game at almost solely PF and since we have Crash and Morrison alternating at SF, it leaves Herrmann few minutes.

Okafor had a severly swollen lip. It must have happened in practice. I noticed while at the game that he was not being agressive, I think he did not want to take another shot in the chops.
