Unlike a lot of people here, I think Mcinnis is a decent PG and can be a pretty good back up for us. Still, I do not understand AT ALL why he is going to get more playing time then DA. Mcinnis has strugled a good bit this preseason and at times last year. Last season, DA proved he can still start a game.
Maybe I'm missing something, but if Felton goes down, I'd have a whole lot more confidence in DA then Mcinnis.

I'll feel alot better with Jarett Jack, but Mcinnis is playing alot better in preseason.

I think that Jack is young enough, quick enough and talented enough to not only be a solid back up for Ray, but could push him hard for the start. After all, he is listed as the starter for Portland right now. That is why I am open to a trade for Jack and Frye. By the ESPN Trade Machine, we could do it for Othello and Herrmann, if Portland would do it.

I understand what you are purposing Ohara. I just don't think Frye makes this team any better than Davidson, or will he be any more help to Mek in the paint. New York fans don't call him Charmin for nothing.
Giving up Herrmann will leave a bigger hole at PF, with him we have an option. (small ball) :)

Good points Biz; but I do think Channing would improve us some since he has a few years in the league over Jermareo, and I do like Jack as a PG. Just one of those cases where some people see it one way, and others see it another way. No one has to be right on it, just our opinions.

No problem Ohara, just two different opinions, but experience or no experience, I'm guessing 6 or 7 games and Dividson will be just as good or better than Charmin :)
Good talking to ya!

How did we get on the topic of Jack? He's not coming over here guys.
DA is our 3rd string PG technically but I could see him getting 2nd string minutes consistantly because of his versatility and can get white hot at times. It'll probably be backup by who's playing better.

I love me some DA, and I trust him more than McInnis. I'd be fine with him starting in place of Felton in case Felts was out for a game or two.

It's just D Andersons age .He can do so much more than all most any body on the team . He's forgot more than most of our guys know. In the last game he played about six mins . Colck runing down had to shoot drains the three . He had like three assist that game allso just doing his job. PLAYING point . He can all so defend and play the two , three effenicily. Hes lost some hops and speed but can play the hell out of some angles. As the year goes on you will see more and more D.A.

correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the offense stall slightly last year when DA was leading at the point?

I went back and listened to the feed. The first thing DA did when he got in the game was draw a charge on some hawk. It was sweet.

Bumpus - the offense did stall slightly, if DA was running the point last year...but the defense was much better and made up for it.
Offensive efficiency with DA at the point - 89.8 points per 100 possessions
Defensive efficiency with DA at the point - 82.5 points
Overall for DA, the numbers were: 109.5 and 108.5 (compared to when he was off the court altogether, the team was at 103.1 and 109.0)
For McInnis -
Off eff at the point - 93.7
Def eff at the point - 98.9
Overall for McInnis, 103.5 and 111.1 on the court, but off the court - 105.2 and 108.4.
Got these numbers from 82games.com.
