Fabio fighting to get playing time so far all season playing behind Hollins. He seemed to have lost his starting job Hollins most of the preseason . He got his first start and probely got more boards in one game than Hollins in the whole preseason . Fabio can score and if coach keeps this line up toghter we might make some noize. Ever one played better and the team seened to have purpose. Fabio 14 boards nice job.

The 14 rebounds really stood out to me. Rebounding is the team's Achilles heel right now, and if Hermann can prove that he can consistently rebound (in addition to his already sharp offensive play), Vincent will be all but forced to start him.

Really wasn't expecting Hermann to rebound that well. When I was looking at the box score to the game I thought it had messed up, but it's good to see someone is starting to box out and get boards. Unless Coach V really thinks Hollins is ready to be a starting 5 in the NBA then I don't see how Fabio won't start now.

keep in mind its preseason. coach V is likely still figuring out what hes got. He may feel like Fabio is good to go and doesnt feel the need to push his place in the starting lineup...in turn giving Hollins the chance for some shine.
If the prime time argentine keeps the boards coming... he will definetly start. and to be honest with you... Hollins might be better suited coming off the bench, seeing as how its really gonna be his first full year in the NBA.

Yeah, you could tell even late in last nights game Coach was toying with the line-ups. I think he's not finished seeing how each set of five plays together.

I agree. I like Herrmann starting at the 4, even tho that means Oak has to play the 5. He's good at either, so he can handle it. I think Mustachio hit the nail on the head when he said Hollins might be better suited coming off the bench. I think when us and the competition start to bring in a second unit, going big with Hollins and Primoz might be a real curve ball for teams, if but for only a few minutes at a time. That would be a real change of pace from the smaller quicker line up. With Touch', Dudley and Carroll, that makes a reasonable 2nd 5. That still gives us some other guys on the bench to play when needed. I'm OK with that.

+1 Must and Ohara, agreed.
Hollins needs to prove himself more before being given some minutes. I'd rather have smaller and experienced than an unknown factor to Hollins' degree.

I totally agree and we do need to extend Herrmann's contract too.... :g:

Im not ready to extend his contract yet. But his game rotation should be set next game. Im not a coach but it should go like this in my openion.
1. Felton starts with D ANDERSON backing him up , Torch 3rd
2. J-Rich with Carroll backing him up D A 3RD STR
3. Wallace ,with Carroll backing Dudley 3rd for now
4. Fabio , with Davidson,Wallace 3rd
5. OK50, with Primoz, Hollins 3rd
This is who i would srart and whos first off the beanch.
Dudley i would work into the rotation as soon as possable.
Thats not really asmall line up starting . Fabio is 6.9 or 6 10 hes power foward size.

I agree dav7z, I think we have talked about that line up since I first joined BobcatsPlanet.... Herrmann is a good player and he should be used a heck of alot more than he has been playing so far....:g:

Bobcats turn to Brezec to start at center (http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/2007/10/bobcats-turn-to.html)
Does anyone else have this picture in their head of Bonnell huddled outside the Arena peering in thru the window?
According to Bonnell's blog Coach V is "penciling" in Brezec to start. Not surprised really; we've heard all thru training camp/preseason that he's loathe to start Mek at Center. Fabio will still get plenty of PT as well as Duds (who's due to play Friday).

With our lack of bigs why don't he just start Fabio . Hell 14 boards is not that bad. Hell it's not like Primoz is a defencive stoper far from it. And hes no more of a offencive player than Fabio . OK50 needs to just play averege mins this year . Can't afford him hurt to.
The only reason i can think of to start him is he sets a good pick. Felton might need that to get in the lane. He all so shoots good off the pick.
But i still think Fabio is the best choice.

Coach V may start Primoz; OK Im dealing with it. I think Primoz may start but before the first quarter is up I think Primoz will go sit and Herrmann will be in at 4 and Oka4 to the 5 unless he goes with Twiggy as Primoz's back up. I hope Davidson dont just sit there this season and I still want to see Dudley play. Dudley finally should play some against the Hornets. Our young guys should get some good experience this season since the injuries are what they are....

If this is true then coach V is starting the wrong foreign player. As much punishment as Mek would receive at the 5, we have a better lineup with him at C and Fabio as PF than with Primoz at C and Mek at PF. Fabio brings more offensive firepower, better defense (any defense), and if the 14 boards are any indication, better rebounding as well. I will say Primoz is a good option on nights when matched up with a superior shot blocker; as a pick and pop type player he takes them to the perimeter which opens up the lane, but overall I feel like Fabio is a better option.

If its true that Sam is starting Brezac and putting Okafor at PF, then I guess he's no better than Bernie. It's just a terrible terrible move. Anyways, Brezac won't last many minutes and will have to sit. I just hate to start games that way though. Like saying "Beat me Please." I'd put Primo 3rd behind Hollins; in a minute....Hermann DEFINITELY starting at PF with May out. ITS NOT FREAKING ROCKET SCIENCE.
Somebody, anybody PLEASE. TALK to these people before they screw it up!
There is hope though that Bonnell is once again making stuff up and otherwise has no clue what is going on. Makes me paranoid though to be under the shadow of Bernie.

Yeah Bonnell is Bonnell, I hope he is just writing his thoughts and not writing facts.... :g:

I'm not upset about starting Primoz for game 1; if he's the same version as last season, I imagine Vincent will make changes henceforth. It may not be a popular decision with most of y'all, but it is the safe move, for opening night at the very least. I'll give Vincent the benefit of the doubt with this move, and assume that if it doesn't work out, he'll continue to tweak the lineup. We've got 4 locks in the SL, just let Vincent work with that 5th spot, and we'll see what happens.
