1. With Morrison out for the year what is you expections for the rookie for J. Dudley. And how and what do you see his role being this year.
2. Things are dead today so another question. Do you think Dudley was a good pick at 22nd in the draft.

Besides hearing how well he was doing in training camp, I havent seen him play yet. I really want to see him come in and help out at the 3. I think he could be as good a player as Wallace but Im going on what Ive read about him because I havent seen him play as to date. I cant remember if I ever saw him play in college or not. Im not sure if he was a good pick yet or not because I just havent seen him play yet, so I cant say Yeah or Ney.... :g:

My openion either you will love him or hate him it's no in between. He reminds me of one of the old Piston Players . When thair team was nicknaned the bad boys.Probely befor most of you guys time. He for sure will get in your face comit the hard foul and get in your head. His skills are not the best but he more than makes up for in other ways. In other words this guy will take you out.

Dav, WoW this is a monumental occasion! WE AGREE!!!!! I saw him play plent in College and he was always the guy that got in your best big guy's grill and talked. He also had lots and lots of hussle. I really don't see him being that big of a factor on the boards or in pts. At least not right away, he'll contribute but he's not going to put up all star numbers or anything like that. He probably will not average 10 a game. more like 7 and 7. Which isn't that bad for a rook.
On the other side of if he was a good pick at 22nd. I'd have picked him sooner, I really like him and think that for the next couple of years he will be a key energy guy that comes off our bench. He's also the guy that will get hot heads like Rasheed ejected in the first half lol.

I saw Jared play a lot in college, and I did not care for him...but only because he was not on my team. He's that kind of player - that hustles and scraps and frustrates the opponent. But he also developed into a solid scorer, averaging close to 20 a game his senior year. He could hit from the perimeter, but he was also good at posting guys up and finding a way to score. He is not the most athletic player, but he does the little things that make a big difference. While he is not the defender Shane Battier is, when that comparison started to be made prior to the draft, I had to nod - the guy knows what he can do and knows how to help the team win.

Im hoping he will play Friday night. Hope he can show us something although he hasnt played a pre season game as of yet. Going by how you guys talk about him, he should be able to quickly gain more and more minutes. I hope he proves to be a very valuable asset to our team.

Just hope he's ready for the next level of trash talking. In other words I hope I was right and it's Rasheed getting his butt thrown out and not Dudley.

That would be a blessing in disquise.... Play like Rodman but keep an even keeled temper and intelligence....:g:

If you take away Rodmans "temper", he wasn't much. The reason he got those rebounds was that he was incredibily pissed the entire time he was on the court. Probably mad cause all the players wifes had prettier dresses!

for who was available, i'd say duds was a good pick. if daquan cook was available, i woulda rather had him, but he obviously wasn't there.
i expect about 6-8 ppg and 2-3 rpg in about 15-20 minutes a game. his role will expand as the season progresses most likely

My thoughts on Dudley have become the stuff of legend ( :P ) That said, I'm a little apprehensive because he has yet to play a game outside of the summer league.
1. Expect him to be a solid contributor on nearly every stat line except blocked shots and assists. If you want to continue to make comparisons, I think he's much more like an Artest than a Rodman; Rod had very limited offensive skills, Artest has a respectable outside game, much like Dudley. That said, he's just a redass, not unhinged a la Rodman and Artest.
2. A great selection that I was hoping for a couple weeks before the draft, which led to me attaining legendary status here at bobcatsplanet, if only in my own mind

Redass best describes Dudley . As he does have better offensive skills than Rodman, and less than Artest. But bet the house hes going to be in the middle of all the hell raising. IN YOUR GRILL

Dudley is going to be very good . He had a solid line across the board and is going to be a solid player. Playing Dudley and Herrmann is going to be key to making the play offs. Check out his line.

I'm super high on Duds right now! He comes in and rebounds like crazy, doesn't turn the ball over and shoots a great %! If he can keep this up that'll be huge for our playoff chances.

Was just reading where J. Howard was bought out of his contract by the wolves. This is the player that I think Dudley playes like.
No suprises here with the Dude. He can flat out play. I like him a lot on our team. He has a bit of "prick" in him and is effective in a lot of different ways.
And he's smart too - DA smart.
He really was a soild pick at #22 - it's just that the better he is the more Ammo's value drops!!

In time you get the feel Dudley is starter material. I just dont know where . To me hes a tweener . Hes more physical than most threes and a little slow to be a three. At the same time he's not big enough to play the four . So he don't really fit in either spot but i bet he does well in one or the other. Slam i do agree with you ,with Morrisons lack of playing time.
Does he play the two , three, or four.

Y'know, I never saw May as a starter (sure there's plenty of disagreement assuming health), mainly because the boy can't jump and he get's bullied by the bigger bigs.
Everyone is downgrading this season mainly because of May out (heh, Hollinger dropped us like 5 spots didn't he?).  Did anyone take the time to think that Dudley might actually be as good if not better than May?  Granted I only have that one preseason game, but it sounds like he has a nose for rebounds...and he can score.
It'll be interesting to see how playing Duds/Crash/Mek at the 3/4/5 will work.  If he does play as well as he did against NOK I'm going re-readjust my prediction back to 4th seed.

I agree and i see him stronger than may in many areas except mabe scoring. Rebounding about the same defence advantage Dudley. HUSTLE Dudley for sure. Scoring is not been proven but we might have a healthy, hussling, defencive stoping, rebounding , MAY. comparing the two both do a lot of the same things except Dudley does most better.
