I was on InsideHoops looking at what bigs were still left in free agency. http://www.insidehoops.com/free-agents.shtml. Here's a list of free agents updated on Oct.22nd. There's barely any bigs left to pick up. Varejao is still out there I assume. I haven't seen anything on him going to Europe to play yet, but I think he would be asking for too much. Others out there are PJ Brown, Mike Sweetney, Lawernce Roberts, and Danny Fortson.
I think getting Varejao would be great. Even though he's a flopper. I really wouldn't mind picking up any of those. We just gotta pick up a big body somewhere, and there's hardly anything left.
If there's anyone else left out there that I didn't mention or some trade ideas that yall might have that would land us a big then post them here.

Any trade ideas? Why certainly!
My latest idea is to target a big from Indiana. They are right on the cusp of the luxury tax (if not slightly over) and have a few big guys.
Figuring we have about 3.5 million under the cap:
Foster/2nd for Harrington…they save around 3.1 million. He is projected to be their starter though…so I doubt this one.
Buyout fatboy..hopefully for around 1.5 (which would give us approx. 5 million under the cap)
Harrison for a 2nd adds about 1.7…plus the buyout would equal 3.2…only 800k more than our current salary.
Diogu for a 2nd adds approx. 2.3 million plus 1.5 (Harrington buyout) equals 3.8…only 1.4 million more than our current salary.

Vareajo wants a contract starting at 9 milion per year . Its no way any one will pay that . Clevland offered him a long term starting at six million . I don't think hes worth that much.
I noticed Dale Davis still around . Ithink he could produce about 15 to 20 mins a game and would be great to help Davidson and Hollins.
But we need to have a spot for him or any one else . I wish HARINGTON would retire.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that if Vareajo wants to play in the league this year, it will be with Cleveland. He was a restricted free agent, but the time for other teams to sign him to a tender offer has passed, and now he either can take Cleveland's qualifying offer for the season or...cross the pond?

Oh, and of the players mentioned, PJ Brown would be my first choice (probably slightly biased from his time with the Hornets) and then it would be Mike Sweetney...if he lost 50 or 60 pounds. Hard to believe he was so good in college - guess it helps to not be obese.

POB
POB is still with the Worriers right . Do you have a idea how to get him Slam

POB doesn't seem to be in their plans. They have Biedrins, and traded J-rich and all his salary for Brandan Wright.
POB for a non top 20 1st round pick until 2010, unconditional after that?
I'd love to get him though....

"Aye, there's the rub." How 'bout a little Shakespeare to class this joint up, eh? 8)

Without swinging a trade I don't see us getting another big. We'll just wait for the lottery. Well hopefully we won't be in that but the draft anyways.

Can we just trade Harrington and a 2nd round pick for Voskul back?

I'd certainly be in favor of that, but I don't see Milwaukee having an interest in it. They're only paying Jake about 750K more, but he is actually a useful player at this point.

What about if we add a Sean May with that? <____<

J. Howard contract was bought out by the T-wolves, maybe we could convince him to sign a 1 year deal.

I know he's old but he could be just what we are looking for: a legit PF. I mean the potential of Hollins and the lackluster play of Primo will not win anything but proven vets who can go out there and score are great fill-in players and Juwan could come in and play the year with us, helping us reach the playoffs.

I would love to have him, but I imagine he'd rather go to a contender for the Championship. We won't fall into that catagory for about 3 more years. Still I'd love to have him, he'd help Oak's progression a lot. On a contender though he wouldn't get near the PT, does anyone know if he's ever been on a team that one it all?

I agree with this as well, but look at DA - I would have expected him to go to a contender as well. However, I don't consider Howard a coach and an overall good guy like I do DA.
DA has a ring so he didn't need to go to a contender.

It was also the reason why he was bought out in Minnesota: he didn't want to go through a youth movement.
It's rumored that he'll be going to the Cavs to compensate for the loss of Varajao and Pavlovich.

Juwan Howard is a Maverick (and not the cool, card-playing gunslinger kind).
