View Full Version : Charlotte Bobcats at Miami Heat 11/4

This evening at 6:00pm we face the Miami Heat.

Miami is still without Wade, so we'll be matching up against the less than fearsome lineup of:

Jason "White Chocolate" Williams
Ricky Davis
Dorrell Wrright
Udonis Haslem
and Shaquille Oneal who is getting older, slower and more irrelevant by the millisecond.

Without Wade, the Heat have nothing (and that includes Shaq) that should scare us. I don't see any reason that we shouldn't be 2-0 by the end of the night.

If you want to spy on the Heat's game thread, you can check it out here (http://heat.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5700037552/m/6010036915)

Truble in the Heat camp and they know it.
If we concead Shaq will play better than Ok. [I don't think he will] Davis and Williams,Wrright, Haslem CAN'T run with .
Felton , Rich, Wallace, all so Herrmann matches up well in this game. We just let the butter fly Hack on Shaq awhile to start the game. To keep OK out of foul truble.

Bobcats by 12 anyway we are for real.

I'm now having some off time with an internet connection, so I'd like to contribute to my beloved Bobcats site by creating a "hardwood" game thread just like I did at the later stages of the last season. You can use this pattern for the further games of this month. I don't know how long I'm inavailable, I'm afraid :(

Sidenote: I don't know why but the page cannot show all the pictures on my PC. Maybe the pictures took so much memory.

From what I hear Wade was activated on Friday but did not play so it's still up in the air whether he'll play tonight or not.

Hopefully we can somehow contain Shaq if he dominates our bigs we'll be in for a LONG day.

Player of the game = J-Rich

ohara831
11-04-2007, 09:15 AM
I read they plan to let Wade practice starting Monday. So, they should be without him tonight. Not that I fear him or anything (?) - OK, he's a great player - but I'd much rather play Miami without Wade.

Wallace15
11-04-2007, 09:19 AM
Even if Wade somehow plays tonight I still see us winning. If he plays it'll be his first game back. He'll have to get back in the swing of things. I just don't think he'll have a good game if he plays. If we contain Shaq and keep Okafor out of foul trouble I see us winning this 90-101 .

Player of the game-Gerald Wallace, 24pts, 11rbs, 3 blcoks, and 3 stls.

Even though with having GW, Felt, JRich, and Oak, I can see anyone one of them winning player of the game on any day, but G-Force is my pick tonight.

chabber
11-04-2007, 09:26 AM
Never underestimate the power of a flopping D Wade and his control over the officials.....

Nah, we should definitely win this one but that is why I'm kinda scared. I can see Haslem causing problems on the boards and Williams and Davis stepping up. If they don't however we'll win pretty easily.

Also like Dav said if we try we should be able to run this team out of the gym. They just don't have the guys to keep up.

ammofan

I think we have a better team right now! seriously.....the only thing they have on us right now is shaq(until wade is back) Were gonna win!

Don't forget Zo. Our guys who drive must be cognizant of who's in the paint for their side. Hopefully Felts will look to pull him away from Mek and we'll get a bunch of nasty dunks.

Alex
11-04-2007, 11:44 AM
We can win this game. The Heat are a slow team without Wade and even with him since only like two or three players can run on that team. With Felton, Wallace and Richardson we should be able to kill them on the fast break.

Shaq always has good games against Primoz though if I remember correctly so I'm not sure if he's gonna be the non-factor he's been the first two games.

GO BOBCATS!

spectre
11-04-2007, 12:40 PM
Odds are Charlotte +3 1/2 and Miami -3 1/2 assuming Wade doesn't play...which is sounds like he won't.

I saw us matched up against them in preseason and we dominated them with our starters. They've sinced added Davis, which I think JRich will cancel out, and Blount. If we can continue with the smart play, movement without the ball and just stay out of foul trouble we should be 2 - 0 after tonight.

Muttley
11-04-2007, 12:47 PM
Tamb, glad you got a chance to rejoin the party. I really dig the old-school pics and especially the "bench." I'm not worried about this game. I think we got it if we play focused. Biggest concern is the bigs, but if we can get Shaq in and keep Mek out of foul trouble, then we should be good. Ol' Zo is a guy to watch, what with the blocking, but hopefully Vincent's got a plan for putting up points in the paint. I can't decide whether it'll be JRich or Crash getting player of the game, but I'm thinking it'll be one of them.

DaFlameking
11-04-2007, 02:20 PM
yea. remember we upset them in the past so we're not scared in trying to defeat them. This should be a good game. As long as we play steady we should have no problems (i.e. make all free throws)

rallydurham
11-04-2007, 02:23 PM
For some reason I think the guy that will give us trouble is Mark Blount. Just a gut feeling.

I think we can handle Haslem/Wright fine.

We need this game, this is the type of game playoff teams win.

davcbow
11-04-2007, 02:42 PM
The way I see it if we hit our foul shots and play the way we played the game Friday night we should win it straight out. Shaq should be a little different tonight since he fouled out his last game after 28 minutes so he will be trying to avoid the fouls, if we are smart will will try to take advantage of that. Zo is the better of the old guys right now but he dont play very many minutes as of yet. So I see us winning 101-94 stemming from a 3rd quarter run.... :g:

Man we have gone below freezing cold in the 4th. This isn't looking too good unless Coach V motivates them somehow during this time out. We have to make it simple again like we were doing the first three quarters. There's no reason why we won't end up scoring 100 in this game.

I am happy with the win. We almost blew a 16 pt lead, but that is a game we would have lost last year. We have to play smarter against Phoenix tho if we want to be 3-0. We need help from Detroit tonight to beat Atlanta!

Alex
11-04-2007, 08:49 PM
Yeah I agree with dav7z, seeing as he's a rookie coach, coach V is depending on the guys who he knows will come through for him and who he trusts. I think slowly though as the season wears on he'll start trusting our bench more and give those guys some burn. Herrmann and Carroll definitely need more playing time because their offense could of helped us in that horrible 4th quarter tonight.

Muttley
11-04-2007, 09:02 PM
Yeah, it's kind of crazy that Carroll wouldn't be in at the end there. However, lots and lots of credit has gotta go out to McInnis. He's really impressed me in the two games we've had this season (not that hard to do considering how I regarded him before the season started).

Go Bobcats! Undefeated at 2-0! Bring on the Suns!

Those are two games that we would have lost in the previous years. As stated earlier ugly wins are still wins. Losing all those close games in the past two years looks like it might have given us some testicular fortitude. Agonizing finish but 2-0 is still 2-0.

Wasn't able to watch the game or follow a gamecast but I'm glad to see we won. It feels great that we've won our first 2 games. By reading what all of you've said we just about gave the game away in the 4th. I would have been pissed as hell if I would have came home and it said "Bobcats blow double-digit lead and LOSE." But tonight does sound like a game we would have lost last year, but we're 2-0, on top of the SE division and nobody can take that away from us.

Good to see JRich went off for 29pts. He had 6 3's. Nice 8).

Watched the 2nd half, and man, the 4th quarter was UGLY! 3rd quarter J-rich was on fire and the team looked awesome. That's a game we would have lost in past seasons, but we pulled it out. Awesome win guys!

Felton looked good most of the game, but the 4th was ugly.....

tamburello
11-05-2007, 03:25 AM
I watched the game. For the first 3 quarters, we were really shooting well. Also I like our flowing offense. But we were a little bit lucky, if Wade was there, we'd have probably lost, because he could have easily drawn silly fouls. But these two wins prove that we're no longer a rookie team, we can get the job done while the game is still not decided.

Vincent's system looked great to me. Whenever J-Rich shoots like that, we can hardly lose. But, Vincent has a mistake IMHO. Since we already lack May, Morrison and even Harrington, he should have used his bench much more than this. Look at those, J-Rich 44 mins, Felton 42 mins, "hyperextended" Wallace, 40 mins; while "4.5 million man" Carroll 7 mins, Herrmann 3 mins. This is ridiculous.

Vincent has to balance minutes, but I don't forget that he's a rookie coach, he'll learn it by seeing himself. Hopefully we won't lose too much games in this learning process.

Also we've made some meaningless turnovers, especially Richardson's dribbling skills are a little bit weak, and Felton also made some weird passes to 56th row, but I liked both of their shooting. That's certain that Felts will shoot better than 38%.

Despite all cons, I'm very very hopeful with this team's future. I mostly liked the style of playing :D

I disagree. Wade would not have made the difference, except maybe at the end.

The way I saw it, we kicked the shit out of those guys for 3 quarters. We should have won by 20. But as I've been saying, we're going to sputter as we get our rythm. This was a great win. Period.

+1!

Our bench just isn't stepping up very well except Touche' when they do get on the court.  I love the Hammer, but he's been struggling, and Touche' is getting the PT for defense.  We also don't see how the bench does play in practice; I imagine PT gets earned there as well.

BTW...like Crash said in the after game interview...last year we would have lost those 2 games. Now we're winning them.

As an aside...take the time to check our guys stats out on their NBA.com player pages.  Everyone has stellar numbers, and it's great to see!  All but Felts over 50%, and he's dragging us down with a palrty 48%.  He does make up for that in leading us in 3 pt @ 57%...barely squeeking by JRich at 56%.  Crash is also over 50% but is struggling from 3.

And that's not all; steals, rebounding...awesome all around efforts.
