It is not looking too good with our used Carr behind center. Ideally Vinnie would stay healthy and lead us to the playoffs, but we know he is certainly not the long term solution, and I don't think he could even last the entire season with our line.

I think it is time to let Moore show what he can do for the rest of the season. We already know what Carr brings to the table, if Moore stinks up the joint it wouldn't be a whole lot different than what 8 has been doing all season. Jake had major surgery on his throwing elbow, and who knows how he is going to respond (i've got my fingers crossed though). Even though Moore threw a pick in the last game, he showed more balls than Carr by attempting to go downfield. Worst case we are left with a good pick in the draft, best case we found our undrafted Tony Romo. I hope I am wrongly pessimistic, but I don't see us doing much the rest of this year with Carr.

Well said I was sitting there watching on Sunday wondering why Carr stayed in so long while sucking it up. Moore should have got the nod earlier IMO.

When does the Bill Cowher countdown start? :)

Carr's job should be simple. Heave it downfield and let Smith go get it. That's it.

Thats what made Jake a good QB. I can't count how many times he would throw a wounded duck up for grabs, I'd be screaming "WTF" and Smitty would come down with it. At least he knew to feed the stud. Carr seems too concerned about his passer rating and looking pretty (don't get me started on those gloves). He needs to trust 89 more and worry less about his rating.

what more can I say?

Why was Carr in the game as long as he was last Sunday?

it might be time to start matt more or drew olsen. with the enimic offense the past two weeks (7 points in each of the last 2 games) they might as well run the direct snap play to d. williams every time. as long as there is a qb on the planet that understands steve smith is a gamebreaker and gets him the ball, the panthers may have a chance to win 1-2 more games this year

Whenever I see Carr playing I think to myself...

"I miss Weinke"...

I really do miss winky. He would be a blessing right now. Who is he playing for? :g:

I don't think he's playing for anyone. He's a FA, I guess. It is pretty sad that M.M looked more comfortable in his 5 throws on Sunday then Carr has in his 3 starts. I think I read somewhere that Vinny practiced today so my guess is he'll start Sunday even if he's not 100%, but I think it'd be better just give M.M the start just to see what he can do in a full game.
From what I've read on different Panther forums, they say M.M is just like Jake(gun slinger, risk taker, firey type QB) which is a good thing.

I just hope they never threaten our team again with Carr starting a game. To me its like getting kicked in the balls to hear his name along with the word "Starter" and the word "Panthers QB". Gives me a nautious feeling..... :g:

Matt Moore is the man the former Beaver should be a solid player here in Charlotte and I wouldn't mind seeing him start. He played for the first time the last play against the Falcons and threw a hail mary that got picked off but man he has an arm and threw that ball a mile. I really wish we could get him some quaility pt.

Without Jake we're not a playoff team. Carr can't get the ball to Smitty and Vinny only got it to him the first game he started against the Cards. Let Moore start and see what he can do. I have yet to see him get scared in the pocket, run backwards, and take a 8 yard sack like Carr does.
From what I've seen from Moore he's not scared to take a chance down the field, unlike Carr. I'll bet that Moore can run the offense more efficiently than Carr can.

Obviously who's QB is our largest position of contention, and it should be. I like what Vinny does for this team, but I'd like to see Moore get the start too. We're not going to be able to survive on VT every week. We've got to give Matt Moore a shot.

However, if he's going to be able to get the ball to Steve Smith, then they're both gonna need help from the other receivers. They're improving, but I swear they've dropped more balls this season than I care to remember. Jarrett played some last game, so maybe he can step in and be that other guy. Colbert and Carter are great when they're catching the ball, but that's not often the case.

I thought Moore did pretty good in his first start yesterday. Nothing spectacular, but for a rookie making his first start I was VERY impressed. The best thing about having him behind center was the way the rest of the team seemed to respond. He wasn't like Carr, holding onto the ball too long and not going through his reads. He seemed to be decisive and confident where he needed to go with the football.

It would be great to have a good backup for jake for a change (assuming he makes it back sound from surgery) or maybe even the qb of the future. He is much better than Carr or stinky Weinke, and I like what I have seen so far from Moore.

I was fortunate to be at the game Seahawks' side, 40yd line, 10th row, butter. Moore looked like he had some poise. He scrambled well, and his throws were mostly on target. I might be at the Cowboy game on Saturday too, can't wait to see how he does.

Im glad Matt got his chance finally, he will be better than Jake someday but has plenty to learn. Good Job yesterday Matt! The defence deserves thumbs up too; you guys played a great game....:g:

I smell a QB controversy

I dont see it yet, it depends on how Jake does when he comes back. Say Jake comes back strong and playing good ball it would take hell freezing over to make Fox change his mind. Now if Jake comes back and struggles then he has a clear shot after Fox finally changes his mind.... :g:

I have a feeling Moore is gonna stick it to the cowgirls on Saturday.
