Alright guys lets get this game out of our mind and concentrate on the Pacers game on friday. go bobcats.

Ugh, the pacers. I hate what Granger did to Crash last year. Our team should dominate. J-rich should have a field day, as should Felton.

Any news on Felton, btw?

Alex

they have a whole day to prepare for this game. If we lose oh well, but if we lose in the same fashion that we have lost these past two games then something is horribly wrong here.

Not going to the game. Game not televised. A needed break from the guys after their uninspired play. I'd like to think we have a chance to win, but I honestly don't know :-\

For those of you going to the game, we've got to get loud tomorrow night! Let's show our support for our team!

Crunch thanks for starting the thread it looks good.+1
Felton should back and alot depends on whitch team comes out.
Bernies teams played a lot more inspired ball with less talent.[As seen as a lot closer games] And i loved that no quit attitude whitch i've not seen this year . Granted we have more talent . I would just like to see more hustle.

We relly hurting at the five as that problem has to be addressed. Dudley might be able to start at the four as hes been the brightest spot the last two games.
Hollins is not ready though he shows some flashes and Davidson is really a power foward. Whos playing well to be a freasman
We need to try to packege Premoz and Fabio and a 2nd round pick to pick up a big . If that can be done.
If we could go two for one we should try to get a point all so as Jeff can;t handle a team for extended mins.
As for tomorrow nights game . Felton shoud be back that will help. OK50 has to get out of the funk hes in. Rich don't have a goog handle so he should stick to the three and the turn around jumper hes got and only drive when the lane is clear . Hes having to many turnovers. Wallace needs to start his offence closer to the hoop to keep from geting so many dubles and chargeing calls.
On defence we look a lot better when we just man up hard . It looks to me we geting lost on so many switches . Switches might work better in the long run but that system might take a while to learn . Because you got to know exactly when to help.

Im staying positive Bobcats 96 Pacers88

I know it is only the 5th game. But I see it as a major point in our developement this year. A win puts us back over .500, and keeps us in 2nd in the Division. A loss makes 3 in a row and brings down the spirits from the first 2 wins. God forbid that we lose 3 in a row in major blowout fashion. I don't even want to think about that scenario. But rest assured, if that did happen, man o man will the BobcatPlanet Threads be screaming bloody murder for a trade - something to just shake up everything. Dav7z had a good trade idea, but if we make it a first rounder instead of a 2nd, we might coax Indy out of Jermaine O'Neal. If we plugged him in at the 4 and let Okafor play the 5, I'd love our lineup. It might take more than that tho.

After the past two 30pt blowout losses I'm really looking for a win here. We get Ray back tomorrow night so that automatically helps. JRich has to shoot better because he can't shoot much worse than he did last night. Wallace is settling for too many jumpshots. He needs to drive to the basket and at least try to draw some fouls. Okafor's really been struggling on offense. He does need to take more shots though, he only took 6 last night.

My prediction-We get back on track with a 97-92 win over Indy.

Dav7z I agree we need something in the middle more than what we have now. Right now we are getting bitch slapped in the middle. If we dont do some sort of trade its gonna be a looong season.... :g:

11-08-2007, 02:08 PM
Why can't we just plug up the middle with a hustle player like Dudley at the 4 and Mek at the 5, and run away with the division, other than Atlanta, I don't see our division hard to win.

Ray is set to play Friday. Atlanta is greatly improved, but I think Orlando is tougher than Atlanta.

If Felton does indeed play (and at anything like his normal abilities), Friday's game with the Pacers gives the team a good chance to add another check in the win column. The Pacers early record is deceiving (though that might be applicable to both teams in this game) - they've won 2 close games (one game by 2 and the other in overtime), won by 9, and lost by 15. And that was against the murderer's row of Washington, Miami, Memphis, and the Clippers. Put it all together, and they are actually a negative on adjusted +/- for the season, at 0.993 points per possession on offense and 0.995 ppp on defense. While that is a great number for a defense, it is just as bad for an offense - league average last year was around 1.06 ppp.

Of the teams they have played, only Miami is noted for their defense, so that bodes well for the Bobcats - they struggled defensively last year, and in the last two games, and this gives them a chance to bounce back on that end. Offensively, the team just needs to cut down on its turnovers and that will solve a lot of problems - easier said than done of course.

Indiana is forcing turnovers at a decent rate this year, on 18.7% of opponents possessions. Again, this is probably due in part to who they have played - Caron Butler and Agent Zero combined for 13 in their game against the Bullets (I prefer the old-school name - Wizards are for nerds) and Memphis coughed up the ball 27 times against them (Kyle Lowry managed 6 in just 25 minutes).

Jason Richardson and Gerald Wallace have been among the main culprits in the early going - Felton is right there with them in terms of numbers, but he has the ball in his hands far more often so it is more understandable. Both players have been forcing things a bit in the early going - Richardson in an attempt to show he was worth being traded for and Gerald attempting to justify his contract, perhaps? Whatever the case, both players need to go back to focusing on their strengths - Which doesn't really include creating for others on drives. Matt Carroll (or Walter) may be needed to play more minutes, so that teams can collapse on driving players with less impunity - currently if Jason or Raymond drives to the hoop, the other is the only reliable 3 point shooter on the floor and they are struggling to find that open man.

This has gone on far longer than I anticipated - but I'll finish up with a mention - I have the numbers on Indiana because I have added every game played so far to my database (unlike previously where I was only doing Bobcats games), so I will be able to provide better breakdowns of the opposition. Currently working on a way to make the data searchable by readers of my site - I'll let everyone know once that is up and running.

Go Cats.

I have never been one for stats, but your analyses have been pretty darn spot on IMO Brett. Maybe it's because you do it for "what it is" vs. trying to justify an opinion like many others do. I think you nailed it, and if they make just those few adjustments like you mentioned we have every chance to win this game; in fact SHOULD win this game.

Tonight against Indiania; we are 2-2 they are 3-1, in the Conf we are 2-1 they are 2-0, they are 1-0 on the road we are 1-1. We have to win our home games for us to be able to make the playoffs. We can still do this but its all depending on injuries. God I hope we can stay healthy.......

Emeka Okafor was an absolute beast tonight. Matt Carroll finally made it happen from three-point land. In the second half, I saw a team play that I recognize from last year. They played with heart and hustle. Great to see.

Oh, and Kareem Puff was absolutely killing us tonight, if he's not waived by the Pacers before the next time we play them, we should really think about putting somebody on that guy.

Didn't get to see the game, but by the stats wow...

Emeka Okafor 23 REBOUNDS?!? Holy Shit, and 25 points, makes up for the two previous terrible games, not sure what's up with J-Rich, but hopefully he can get it back going soon...Wallace had a good game too....Sad to see Davidson only play 2 minutes...

What's really impressive to me in regards to Mek is he was playing against very capably rebounders in JO & Foster, yet still beasted those boards.

Great win! Crash FINALLY woke up!

Just how bad did we miss Felts? We had NO outside game going except for him; without that the Pacers would have packed the paint like the Sixers did.

Hammer, Duds and Twigs all played solid off the pine...Primoz should never leave it.

Great win!!!!!

Wasn't able to watch the game but I was following it and very nice come from behind win. Okafor=A complete BEAST tonight, 25pts and 23RBS! G-Force with 28pts is a great site, but JRich, man he's gotta do something about this funk he's in. He's a combine 4-25 the past 2 games. I don't think I can stand to see 1 more horrible shooting night like that. Carroll stroking a couple 3's is a good thing to see.

Overall, great win. 3-2 and 2nd in the SE. I'm pretty happy with that.

Just got back from the game with 123together and captain crunch. Hell of a game. It seemed like the bobcats were getting fouled everytime they went inside with the ball but couldn't make a free throw, thankfully the pacers didn't have a good first half either. The fourth quarter was rocking at the arena. It surely wasn't the library this time like it was against the suns. The fans got into it and the team didn't dissapoint. A great effort by the bobcats, I don't know what Sam Vincent said at halftime but obviously it worked. If these guys keep playing the way they did tonight, they could hang with anyone in the league.

Keetch
11-09-2007, 11:56 PM
Was at the game tonite - OBSERVATIONS:

Gerald Wallace was on the court a long time pregame practicing jumpers and free throws....no sign of Okafor.

First half was complete frustration, we're clearly more talented than the Pacers, but JRich was off, Mek was missing too many inside shots; Pacers were fouling anybody that got the ball inside, and when the Cats couldn't make the free throws the pain-faces were showing again.

Dunleavy has filled out and put on some muscle this year. Much stronger player. Good flopper too, totally fooled the refs on one in the first half. SHHEESH you think the refs would FREAKING GET THAT BY NOW.

Very physical game. In the first half Foster was mauling Okafor and not getting caught much. Maybe it fired up Mek for the second half.

GForce streaking to the rim on Granger in the late first half brought back memories of opening day last year.."TAKE HIM!" I yelled and Wallace did. Granger backed off this time.

turnover .. Brezac .. walking with the ball ..

turnover .. Brezac .. walking with the ball ..

Wallace missed two free throws early and started to show frustration. During a timeout was arguing with Vincent and shaking his head...was kind of angry all night. He was fully fueled by the 4th Quarter.

3rd quarter with Dudley in game the frustration started to turn; you could see the fire light in the team; and then the 4th quarter .. oh my ..

Sam put Carroll, Felton and McInnis on the floor with Mek and Wallace against Dunleavy, Granger, O'Neal, Foster and Tinsley. I mean Carroll is guarding Granger wtf? and Felton is on Dunleavy crap what the hell is Vincent doing.... and then I see Felton absolutely go way in the air to block a Dunleavy shot IN HIS FREAKING FACE and start a Bobcat streak down court WOW as Wallace starts hitting jumpers from the corner, Carroll hits HIS FIRST THREE OF THE SEASON and then some; Carroll, McInnis and Felton are giving the bigger Pacers TOTAL FITS on defense, scrapping and taking steals...

Granger is pushing Carroll around like a TOY and the refs call Matt for a foul JESUS CHRIST I could of ran on the court I was so fricking pissed; but got totally over it later when Matt completely out-hustled Granger on D and drew a charge on him. DAMN

..and Okafor was a stud on both ends of the court in the 4th Quarter just RIPPING rebounds away from the Pacers and getting put backs with force .. ABOUT TIME

one final Observation... the Pacers were using the HACK-A-MEKA with positive results throughout the game, but in the end Okafor finally started to use that overpowering strength of his (he's MUCH stronger than O'Neal trust me) to put the DAMN BALL THRU THE NET..it was umm A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT TO FINALLY SEE.

FELTON is CONFIDENCE. FELTON is TOUGH. Felton is ...

I REALLY like Felton :) he will BE just fine...

so all in all a pretty good game .. ho hum ..
