Is it Hack-A-Meka or Hack-O-Meka? Either way; the Pacers were blatantly doing it to him tonight and it was working until the 4th quarter. Mek was 5 for 13 shooting free throws. Look for more of this in the future probably...

That's fine with me. He'll start hitting those shots and it'll force their players to sit on some pine via foul trouble.

Let'em, the more FT's he shoots, the more chances he has to improve his FT shooting.

The only thing that'll stop teams from doing that is for Emeka to start hitting his free throws.
He can't continue to be this bad from the line all season... I hope.
If he had knocked down a few more free throws last night, he would have been looking at a 30 point, 20+ rebound game.

Hack-A-Mek will work for other teams. but like last night it puts the other guys in foul trouble. JO was working with 3-4 fould about all night. Maybe limiting him in the second half as far as how aggressive he could be.

what im thinking is. we are clearly weak in the middle. If getting early fouls on their big men puts Mek on the line in the first half and limits their potential in the second half. It could work out in our favor.

ziggy is right. Mek has just got to get better at that period. What drives me crazy is. His FT stroke is nice. Its a good looking shot it just wont fall. ITs not like its Shaq or Marion out there just heaving balls up in the air. I gotta believe that with his stroke it can only get better. kind of like last year.

Marion's form is one of the ugliest I've ever seen, but if I remember correctly he's actually a pretty good FT shooter.

man, this shows he's getting noticed by the other team's coach as a threat, that's why he's fouled rather than letting him fool around the paint. good for him

Theyve also noticed that we arent a good free throwing team. We need a free throw coach..... :g:
