Miami has really been struggling, I think we can beat them. They are really lack luster and shaq is well, old now... I wish we wouldn't start primoz any more, i am sorry but he is terrible, I will be disappointed if we resign him this summer, its time to find a real center that ryan can effectively back up or see Ryan step up and get a backup for him (seems unlikely but hes a hard worker, already look how much better he is) unfortunately I wont be able to go, but I will try to catch some of the game on tv.

They said last night before the Houston tipoff that D Wade's return might be against us? Can anyone confirm this?

If he does come back against us, how well conditioned can he be? Surely not 100%.

I hate that we lost last night, but I loved the fact that they actually played with some heart. At least we know we have one team in Charlotte who tries.

I agree with you guys, we need to win again!

There was some talk last week about D-Wade coming back for the Bobcats game, but I don't think it is supposed to happen now. Even if he did have some minutes in the game, he is certainly not going to be 100% and will be very cautious.

davcbow
11-12-2007, 04:17 PM
Wade dont worry me even if he does come back. Like J above said he wont be 100% and wouldnt play very many minutes. Welcome to the bobcatsplanet J.... :g:

If D-Wade does play against us, I don't think he'll be in that good of condition to make a that much of a difference. If he plays I still think we win.

1.Okafor needs more touches.
2.Crash needs to drive more and stop shooting jumpers.
3.JRich needs to attack the basket more and for the love of God needs to get out of his slump.
4.Hollins should get more playing time than Primoz.

All these things happen we should win by 10.

Wallace, I think part of J-Rich's problems have been that he is being too aggressive - he is not a great ballhandler, and needs to get opportunities on the break. Other wise, he is basically just a really athletic jump shot. The team is starting to stem the flood of turnovers, which was a big part of the problem during the 2 game losing streak, and if they can continue that effort against Miami, we should really like their odds.
The Heat are strong rebounders, grabbing 27.5% of their own misses, and grabbing 75.1% of their opponents. They turn the ball over a little bit more than average, though, with turns on 16.4% of their possessions, while only forcing them on 14.8% of their opponents. That is particularly good news for the Cats, because one of their biggest advantages is usually in the turnover battle.
If you want to see some more numbers on the Heat, the Cats, or anyone else, check out my new stats page: http://www.queencityhoops.com/statSearch.php - I though the game thread is one of the better places to introduce, since this is one of the places I am most likely to throw numbers at everyone. Let me know what you all think.

I think that this game will set a tempo for the next 3-4 games. If we win this game then we go 2-0 in our division and the momentum swings with us. If we lose this game though then we go below 500 and it will take some good coaching and leadership to avoid this from happening.
One thought is that we need to drive the basket more with Jrich or Gerald. In doing this we create shots for people like caroll and there is always that option of dishing to Emeka or a big. We didnt do this so much last game, instead taking long shots with plenty of time left on the clock. Patience and driving at shaq to get him in foul trouble will help tremendously.

Thanks for the thread Crunch. And thanks for the stats Brett. It's time for Primoz to start hiting that jumper and this would be a good game for that . To pull Shaq out from the basket. I expect OK50 to have a better game than his first one against the Heat as hes hiting his stride now.
Rich needs to stop perssing and just have fun . Hes a much better player than we have seen sop far. Wallace should attack as thats his bread and butter. Not his jumper.
Hollins and Primoz and Davidson should play Shaq til the forth. Then a fresh OK50. We don't need him fouling out . I've all noticed he rebounds better at the 4 i think not sure
We should run they can't run with us . It's no way so we force the tempo.
Bobcats by 10. With Felton having a big game passing the thirty point mark . 10 assist

i thought d wade was coming back earlier? anyways we still have a shot in this game as we are learning more how to play as a team i guess since almost everyone has had some prior playing time. hopefully wallace and okafor are good on the FT line, Jrich becomes more of a vet and we can close this one out

I agree Flame (hope the refs dont lose this game for us with bad calls) but we do need to hit our field goals better than we have been which would have maybe won our last game if it would have been a better shooting night for us.
Go Bobcats!!!!

If Wade sits out the Bobcats win.
If Wade plays the Bobcats lose.

not because he makes his team that much better. but when it comes down to the end of the game. The refs will give him every damn call no matter what and we will lose. plain and simple.

Must, we can't let the results of the Rockets game affect us to that degree. It will without a doubt leave a bad taste in our mouth. The kind of taste that can only be described in onomonopoea. The kind of taste that is so bad, that it's beyond the point where after you taste it, you would say to a friend, "Oh my god, that tastes awful. Hey, you gotta try this, it's terrible."
With the way the Heat have been playing lately, with the way we should have beaten them by more than 2 points last time, and with the fact that if Wade is returning, he will be at less than 100%, then we should beat them by more points than bad officiating can surmount.
So, in summary, you gotta shake it off (god I hope the team has). But if it happens again, we should burn (in effigy of course) Forte and his Gang of All-Star reach-arounding liars...

Been waiting for this day ever since that horrible outcome we watched on Sunday but yea I'm thinking we'll use that L as momentum going into tonight. I'm not to worried about the Heat we just need to attack the rim and get fouls on Shaq and Zo with them sitting I feel more confident we can take this game. I haven't heard much about if Wade is playing or not I'm thinking he'll a sit.

Player of the game = Crash.

Agreed. We're actually looking pretty hot right now. Fire. Intensity. Skill. All those good things. GW for thrEEEEEEEeeeeee!

Primoz has shown that he is slightly familiar with the sport of basketball. Still, he doesn't go to the hole hard at all (feel bad for his wife... hey-o!). I cringe when he steps on the court. Davidson should get more PT.

Great game tonight guys although the bench looked bad the end of the 4th. 91-76 is a good win. Everybody looked good out the starting 5 except felts was a little quiet. Primoz had his best game yet tonight, keep it up big guy....Davidson looked good off the bench and Carroll had a good night. Herrmann came in in the 4th and the game ended as he was getting warmed up but he had 4 points 2/4 1 RB a a 1 BA whatever that is.....Great game guys, bench needs improvement still....

Primo didn't look that bad today. Improve a little more and he might earn that starting spot. In reality, next game he'll probably have 2 points and 1 rebound.

Hopefully Herrmann will start getting more playing time. He's too good of a player to only get garbage minutes.

yeah Felton was quiet in the points area but look at his other production, 9 assists and 6 rebounds, can't complain about that.

Very impressed tonight man, what a great performance in front of our home crowd. I'm feeling pretty good at 4-3 at this point in the season and we have four winnable games coming up at Atlanta, vs Seattle, vs Portland and vs Washington before our showdown with the Magic, who knows maybe that game could be for first place in the division. I can definitely see us putting together a nice 5 game winning streak before that game if we continue to play like we did tonight.

I agree, Felts wasn't hitting but this was one of the best passing games I've seen him play in a while going into last season. He made one assist falling out of bounds, an awesome alley oop to JRich, a couple of fast passes to a cutting Mek and another to a breaking Hammer.

Our starting 1 & 2 racked up 14 rebounds and 13 assists!

It was great seeing JRich and and that comfortable smile on his face talking to DA on the bench...hopefully he's out of that shooting slump.

Crash flat out came alive in the 2nd half...nasty block on Shaq, driving, hitting 3s! Getting primed for his favorite team to play against tomorrow night!

A great statement win. Our starters kicked their butt.

Happy with Ray tonight. Even tho only 6 pts, he had 9 assists and 6 brds and only 2 TO's. I'll take that and be happy.

***The Miami announcers were saying that Coach said he was sticking with Primoz at starting for up to 15 games to see if he gets his act together and starts playing like he did a couple years ago when he was avg 13+ per game. That means we only have to endure him another 7-8 games and maybe they bring him off the bench.

Good stuff ohara, I missed that. I know V is still experimenting, but I'd like to think Rose would "suggest" when players looked good initially and maybe they need more PT (Davidson). His first few was very impressive.

Can't fault him though; as bad as I hate Primoz it would be nice to get that 50%+ outside shot working to help spread the D.

Not all our guys can score all the time. I mean, there's only 48 minutes per game anyway. Somebody's gotta pull down 6 rebounds and 9 assists! I'll take that without a doubt.

Oh, and WvsMc, your avatar-thingy always freaks me out, even when it's not "big sweaty guy."

In regard to Primoz, 15 games is kinda long, in my opinion. In the meantime, both Hollins and Davidson are improving. He played okay tonight, but he's still our starting center, and he's putting up 6 pts, 3 rebounds (granted, in 15 minutes). Still, I hope he turns it around as it would really help the team.

Good win guys, Felton had a J-kidd game tonight with his production. I'm glad Crash played well, and J-rich should keep improving from his slump. I'd like to see more davidson and dudley.

Great game small croud and quite til the 3rd.
Primoz hit a jumper and raised his hands in the air like it was his best shot ever . He tryed on Shaq but couldn't guard him as i think Hollins did a good job frunting him.
Davidson looked real good in the 2nd coming off the beanch.
Ill take a consistant 10 assist from Felton ever game.
Mcinnis is playing way to much as those mins should go to Davidson , Hollins, Dudley,Herrmann. and Carroll.
His stats this game does nothing to satnd out . A little below average.
OK50 needed a few more touches in side. As his post game looked good to night.
Rich and wallace both helped thair feild goal percentages tonight.

I was in section 103 to night and Jordon was in 105 . Only saw him once for about 3 mins . We started to walk down two doors and just walk in but chickened out .

Wallace block should make sports center. I was reading reading some or the articals the sports wrighters was wrighting in frunt of me and the pissed me off . Most said Shaq could't do it by his self and if Wade was playing we could't win. How in the hell do they know that . Hell we 4 and 3 and no push over any more . And if we can trade for a goog big . We could win the east. I get sick of us getting disrespected . About our team.

Great wins Bobcats . Know we on a roll when Primoz hits a jumper.

Great win tonight. I'm really wanting to see what Davidson can do with starter minutes. I think he would really impress us if he got 20-25 minutes. NASTY block G-Force got on Shag. I've already seen it on SC and NBA fastbreak.

I really didn't think the crowd was that much smaller than the Phoenix game, but that said, those who showed up were rowdy (myself included obviously) and were into the game well after the game was decided.

This game was the blueprint for how we should play every night: Mek with double double; GW with 20 pts (19's close enough) plus his usual assortment of hustle stats; JRich with high teens in points with his usual high number of rebounds for a guard; Raymond running the team, and not being forced into being a scorer; really good bench production also; very good D.

This is really the 3rd straight game where this blueprint, by and large, has been executed, and I'm starting to really get a feeling that Sam and the guys are in total synch. Sam's evolution over the course of the early season has been fun to watch, though I am a little disappointed that Jermareo didn't get any more PT considering how well he was playing.

Even though we should be 5-2, 4-3 is pretty sweet, all things considered

PS. Did anybody else get stuck in that glorified parking lot known as 85 South at the Graham St. exit? Can't believe we only missed the first 3 minutes of the game.

I think it was great we got the win and did not have to play our starters most of the 4th. We will need the energy tonight vs. Atlanta.
This is huge tonight. We are within 1 and 1/2 of Orlando for 1st in the Division, and have a 1 and 1/2 lead over Atlanta for 2nd. We are tied for 4th in the East. This will be another statement game! We need to stay on Orlando's butt and widen the distance between ourselves and Atlanta, Miami and Washington.
Even without major help up front for Okafor, with Miami, Washington and hopefully Atlanta being weaker than everyone thought, we have a good chance at the playoffs. No other Division may have such weak Division foes. Atlanta can present match up problems for us, in my opinion. Especially on the front line. We will really need J-Rich and Wallace to be on fire tonight to ease the pressure on Okafor. If they are hot, that will open up Okafor some. We need moderate scoring from Ray, with high assist numbers and low TO's.
