View Full Version : How about this idea (to stir the pot)

The knicks have a bunch of trouble. Marbury being benched and causing a ruckus. Talk of benching Eddy Curry and his 18+ pts also. They have $40 mil tied in with Marbury over this yr and next.
OK, here is my idea. Trade them Ray Felton, Herrmann and next years 1st. We take Curry and Marbury. They agree to pay 1/2 of Marbury's salary this yr and next.
We get a true PG who can play for 2 yrs. We get a young stud to play up from with Okafor. And, in two years, we ahve $21 mil coming off the books when Marbury is done.
NY may do this. I think they are on the verge of imploding the team. Marbury talking junk about talking about Isiah and his issues, the Verdict against the team and MSG. They may blow the whole thing up, and if they do, there are some very nice pieces to pick up.
We get something for Herrmann rather then waste his talent on the bench (still dont understand that Coach), get a high quality Big to play with Okafor and have a dominating Front line, and we get rid of a pseudo PG in Ray, get a real PG at a reduced price and get huge money coming off the books.
I'd be all over that like flies over a dog turd. marbury, J-Rich, Crash, Okafor and Curry. That is a killer starting 5, and it cannot be argued.

Starbury's crazy. I'm not sure he's the kind of crazy I'd want on the Bobcats.

I don't know quite how to respond to this...
We get a true PG who can play for 2 yrs.

absolutely not.
Marbury is the last thing this team ever needs. hes always been overrated and always will be. hes questioning ISAIAH THOMAS! you dont think hes gonna be all over Sam vincent! he would implode this team in 3.5 weeks
Curry would be great, but how bout Hermann and Primoz for Curry instead of trading Ray for starbury.

Curry is the real prize in the deal for me. Marbury is good for 2 years as a PG, but the main thing I want is the $21 mil which would come off the books. That would be huge money to go after a FA PG in 2 years, and some of the young studs out there now would likely be FA in 2 yrs.
My whole thought on Marbury is that he is a head case, but a hell of a player. He would be starting, so there should not be a big issue there. And with him able to set up the other 4 starters, he would love the opportunity to shove it in Isiah's face, dont you think? I think he would be on his BEST behavior if traded just to show people.
My biggest concern is if the Trade would go through money wise. If need be, we could always throw in Primoz since he would be unnecessary as Hollins could be the back up.
Laugh now, but you know there is some talent there, and that team is blowing up, you can see it coming. I would just want to be there to be first in line to pick up the good pieces.

I wouldnt go messing with the core of our team, you bust up that chemestry and you wont have the same team. Hollins is starting to play good ball now, Primoz is a fair back up. I think we keep the core alone and work with the other guys through draft picks and free agency. We dont want to be a luxury tax team because then your hands are tied as far as the future of the team goes.... :g:

Marbury is less of a true pg than Felton. Marbury is the definition of the shoot first pg who doesn't make his teammates better. He's in obvious decline physically and mentally.
Felton is probably more productive than him now.
I think Curry is terribly overrated. He gives you scoring at the 5, but that's it. He does nothing else.

Curry maybe, but no way would I want Marbury on our team. Especially after the shit he's pulled in NY.

ohara i have to say you are a wee bit off your rocker here, no way marbury is a true point guard, and curry... ehh hes just really big but I dont even think the knicks would go with it, now that isiah and marbury are back to being friends so were told

curry yes starbury no way. everyone is jumping on felton, the guy gives you double digit pts and almost the same in assist every night. he's only been in the league 2yrs and we expect him to be in the same line as isiah, mr bigshot and others. it takes time for some let himbe for another year and see where he is. what's curry's contract look like. :afro:

Mmm Hmm. The most overrated player in the history of the league, and a guy who has a questionable heart (both literally and figuratively) aren't worth a trade for just Walter in my book!
