View Full Version : Why isn't Walter playing!?

I don't understand this. We are losing all these games by large margins lately, and Walter hasn't been seen at ALL. Did I just imagine all those clutch moments that Walter excelled at last year towards the end of the season? Didn't he drop 16 off the bench a couple weeks ago? It's amazing, we are getting destroyed and Vincent just doesn't seem to care at all. Put Walter in the game!

Is he sick? Anyone have any news as to why he isn't playing?!

I don't understand it either. He should be one of our top reserves. It's not like our defense could suck any more than it already does anyway so what is there to lose?

I dont think V likes Herrmann. He has done him this way since training camp. Herrrmann comes in and plays a good game but he still wont play him. I dont want to say this but I will, I think V stinks as a coach.... :g:

Can't we give him at least one season to prove himself? Like a buddy of mine said "The Milwaukee Bucks are considered a team with a low talent level in the NBA, and compared to the Bobcats they're like the San Antonio Spurs" and you know what guys he is right, we just don't have enough talent to compete, we just don't. Vincent is much better than BB was but it's still not showing, and lackluster play and just inconsistency are killing us. A few better substitutions here and there would not help the Bobcats get out of this 6 game losing streak right now, TRUST ME that is not the problem, our "star" players making some jumpers here and there would help that cause but they just don't seem to care or are just not good enough.

Not sure you can make that argument given the evidence. I'd take Bernie over Vincent; at least Bernie's teams played their asses of, generally, and they had less experience and talent than Vincent's group.

That said, I do have some empathy for Vincent: the guy needed a few more years riding shotgun before taking the next step. I say it's not his fault he was thrown to the wolves lacking in experience; it's management's fault for hiring him in the first place. I don't question his desire to succeed, but I do question his ability to translate this desire to his gameplan and his player's performance. I just hope this season, and it's inevitable disappointments, don't scar him for the rest of his career. :-\

If he gets discouraged after only one season then good luck to him for the rest of his life in whatever he does because he won't be coaching NBA ball that's for sure.

By the way guys, it seems grim as hell right now riding this ugly 6 game losing streak but we're still just 16 games into an 82 games season, things can turn again, let's not lose hope yet.

that man is a warrior. he'll get his due. he'll show them.

but for that to happen he should be given consistent playing time. *sighs*

Coach V picks his favorits , Walter so far has been the only player not to get a chance. Dudley last night , Davidson the game befor. Mcinnis seems to be in favor over Felton go figure . Mcinnis seems to be in favor over Matt, Felton, D.A Walter. Dudley . Davidson.
Just look at some of the crazy lineups Mcinnis has played in. For sure hes not a defenvive stoper, And hes not a major offencive presenance. He should only back Felton up. THATS IT. Agreed Fabio could have helped in a lot of games so far given the chance. How in the hell do you take 20pts per game and stick it at the very end of your beanch and forget about it.

Coach may feel that Fabio plays poor Defense and is a liability. Funny thing is, no one is playing good Defense on the team , so might as well play him. He does provide some solid offense. **I know people say he has to be open to hit his 3 pointers and cannot hit with a man in his face, but right now, they can say the same for J-Rich.

Yeah in this recap of last night's game, Coach is calling out his core players for not showing up basically to the game to perform. That's great but talk is cheap, let Walter and Davidson take up these minutes to really send a message to our starters, not just stirring stuff up in the press with meaningless words.

Walter isnt playing because he isnt as good as you guys think he is. At times last year he was more of a freelance player when he had success. when in a system (if you can call what we are doing now a system) i dont think he quite gets it.

I personally dont like seeing Walter scurry around the court like a chicken with his head cut off on defense... arms a flailing and then taking shots that only fall when hes wide open. Besides we got j-rich to do that for us now any way haha.

Mustachio is right.

Hermann isn't playing because he's shooting 34% from the floor this season.

If the man could play more than 2-3 minutes a game he would get a heck of alot better numbers. He hasnt had a chance to prove himself yet. If ever given that chance I bet coach would feel differently about him and his doubters would change their minds..... :g:

Hell it's damn hard to shoot over 34 percent playing just 15 mins all year so far . Damn are you guys trying to tell me Harrington is better than Herrmann. Both are around 6.9 and Harrington has got playing time the last three games. What has Harrington scored all year JUST 2pts. Hell hes so slow now my grandmal could drive by him .At least Herrmann moves his arms and feet . Face it this coach plays favorits and Herrmann is not one.
Why in the hell else is Mcinnis playing 30 mins a game .

I really hope he gets to start playing more! Walter was doing so good at the end of last year that it just doesn't make sense.

Walt got some pretty solid PT and looked pretty decent last night. I am also a huge Walt fan (How can you not like Walter) would love to see him improve into a very solid pro but he just looks so lost out there on the court especially on defense.

thank you. PT does not equal PT. you dont get playing time just because you have a pony tail. hes a cool guy, and i like him a lot. that doesnt mean he doesnt look like he needs a map and a compass on defense.

Mustashio hes better than Harrington, and Primoz and Hammer on the defencive side of the ball. Him and Hammer close both better than Mcinnis. So who do you propose we play.
We can't play Morrison not thet hes any better on defence any way he's hurt. So who do we play?????????????

Hammer is better than Fabio on both sides of the ball. Primoz and Harrington are Centers not Forwards.

I propose you play Okafor, Wallace, Dudley, Richardson then Hermann for 15 minutes tops. thats a good deal.

I still don't buy that Herrmann is bad defensively. I see people get by him just as much as anyone else. I think everyone just points it out more because when Herrmann does bad defensively, it isn't just bad...it's terrible and very humerous.

Question? If Dudley starts along with the other starters we have. Who is the first player you bring off the beanch to play the three and the four.
Herrmann is the only logical; choice. Hollins is still out and Davidson is not quite ready yet.
Yes Matt should be our sixth man . But Mcinnis is over played by the coach. His defence sucks and him and Felton toghter is just not working.[ The small line up ] Thease are mins Herrmann should be getting and he should be a rotation player even after Hollins comes back. His rotation mins should depend on how well hes playing . The same should hold true for all the back ups .
QUESTION? If Rich is stinking the place up and the Hammer can't miss who do you play more that night. I say Hammer because i don't give a damn what Rich makes of if hes a starter.
So should Herrmann be part of your rotation . If hes not i can't understand your reasoning. The only reason i can think of for your stance on this is Herrmann took a lot of Morrisons playing time last year.
