Hey everyone, I'm a Pistons fan just coming over to give you guys some insight on Nazr Mohamed. This is clearly just my opinion and you may have the right to disagree.

Let me start off by saying, Nazr no better than Primoz, so don't get your hopes up. Back in 2006, after Big Ben left us for the Bulls, Joe Dumars sought out a big man capable of filling in his shoes. Nazr was the man he picked for the Job. Of course er were never expecting him to be Ben Wallace, we were just hoping for a solid center, that could give us 12-13 points per game, at least 8 rebounds, and just mesh with our starters. Nazr had his moments, but in the end he was so erratic and inconsistent.

- He has "Stone hands", often is known to drop easy passes under the basket.

- His post moves are overrated, and he has a tendency to post up good defenders that almost always easily frustrate him.

-Bad decision making, this guy is a 7 footer is sometimes afraid to dunk the ball. Instead he often tries to make driving layups and comes up short.

-He is FOUL PRONE. In the ECF vs the Cavs, we put him in and he picked up 3 fouls in under 1 min of playing time once. Including fouling damon jones on a 3 point shot, pretty much costing us 6 points putting the cavs up by 10, ruining our momemtum.

- And did I mention this guys contract is BIG, and its for 3 YEARS.

The bobcats effectively traded away 2 expiring contacts, one of them with alot of potential (Hermann) for a guy who is no better than Primoz and has a 3 year contract. Expiring contacts are the essential building blocks for trades, now with 2 more, it is rumored that Detroit will make a move for All-Star Marcus Camby.

as a denver fan and a bobcats fan... you wont get camby

but hopefully Nazr can do better then primoz, trust me, he has to be better... but either way, were not expecting a savior nor a lot of low post scoring, but what we do want is rebounding, a few points here and there, and some containment on other teams bigmen while being able to cycle ours... it will be interesting to see how it works out

I've had my eye on Nazr for a couple years now knowing he was available...and NO WAY is he as bad as Primoz.

We did add salary, but we also could afford it. Going forward over the next couple years all we would really have is the MLE to play with in free agency after re-upping Mek, so this isn't a cap killer by any means.

If what I read is correct, I don't see Detroit adding anyone; supposedly this put them 700k under the luxury tax and adding Webber would put the 3 or 4 back over. Camby? No way.

After Delfino and Darko, sadly I don't see Fabio or Primoz getting any burn in Detroit, as both as a lesser version of the two they gave away. They weren't getting any burn here, but Nazr on the other hand will get plenty...he'll start. By "need" we won this trade easily...talent usage we did as well, because Fabio won't get utilized there no more than he did here. The financials for Detroit is what made it fair to slightly favoring them.

Nazr with pants around his ankles and both hands tied behind his back... is better than primoz brezec. The fact that anyone thinks that primoz or hermann would get any playing time at Detroit is ridiculous. If you think hermann is gonna get some burn behind Prince your dreaming. In fact ill go so far as to say... that if we really wanted to... we will be able to pick up Hermann at the end of the season as Detroit will have no use for him.

Meh, At least we have a center that can grab rebounds and block shots unlike Mr.Softy(Primoz). But still, i'm going to miss Primoz. I grew liking him ever since his first year as a Bobcat. Back then, he was putting up some good stats. Gonna miss him. Oh yeah, this is off topic but, does anyone know whatever happened to Nelly? Is he still part owner of the Bobcats??? ???

I know there is alot of talk about Nazr's contract, but if you think about it we were offering Varejo around the same money (3 yrs 17 mil). They have very similar stat lines as well, and I will certainly not miss Primoz on the court. I did think Hermann had potential, but Vincent sees him every day and probably knows better than we do his limitations. If he wasn't going to play for coach V we might as well trade him while last seasons memories are still fresh. I say give Nazr a chance, if he gets some boards in traffic and an occasional putback then he is already much more useful than Primoz. We have more than enough jump shooters, we need someone to do the dirty work.

Yeah, he still has a stake in them. Not sure the % though.

Ok, so I have to ask. Why didn't we just offer Varajao more money, so Cleveland wouldn't match? My thought is that would've been less expensive in the long run?

We didn't have it to offer. The most we could give him was the MLE due to our being over the cap. I know the sites were showing approx. 52 million, but the MLE...until renounced...is included in the calculation.

the foul-prone thing is right, but i am impressed with his performance as of late. ^-^
