Do you think his playmaking abilities will offset his defensive liabilities?
I think so. But i also think Boykins wants starters PT, and I don't know if I'm ready for that.

I say bring on boykins, and make Felts the SG, since Vincent does'nt think he's capable of running the point. I'll take anything to get McInnis off the court.
Now that I have that off my chest.
I have to rant about the NBA Access and the Orlando game.
When Vincent was running the hack-a -Howard. Did anyone but me notice the look Crash gave him after about the third time he fouled Howard. The look on Crash face was saying if you ask me to do that again I'm going to go balistic.
I'm afraid these guys have a problem with the coach and it started after the Boston game.
They have lost confidence in him. The players are like little rebellious children. The things he told them not to do, they were doing. like win the third quarter by at least 1 point. BTW they were winning going into the half. They lose the third quarter and the game which was very winnable for the cats.
I just had to get that out there. Crash had the face of many words, and they were not kind.
As for Boykins I don't think he would be happy here unless Coach V gets some kind of game plan, and stop pulling names out of a hat for his rotations.

I want him
WvsMc wants him.
And I want WvsMc to have him.
Bumpus, if Earl takes Jeff's minutes, that'd kinda be like having starters minutes right?

Most of us see the problems on the court why can't coach V, It would be interesting to see Boinkins and Felton on the court toghter. If we did sign Boinkins . Felton would make some nice trade bait . Im a Felton fan but wander what kind of player he might bring. Felton for who ? Would be a fair trade?

I agree that bringing in Boykins would make Felton good trade bait, but I'm still not willing to do that. Felton still has the potential to become a top 10 PG and that's not something I want to just trade away. I do want us to sign Boykins, but for him to be Ray's back-up, and maybe for 5-8 minutes a game have Boykins at 1 and Felton at the 2.

I'd just prefer signing someone else cheaper instead of putting money and years on a vet. With the Nazr signing I'm not big on dropping other contracts of size until we sign Okafor or someone that's worth the dough.
Hell, I'll take a NBDL player for the empty spot and give him minutes instead of Touche.

Heh, no WAY does bringing in Boykins make Felton available! Everything people complain about Felton (vision, setting up mates) Boykins is worse. He always looks to score.
If we do bring him in I'd imagine it'd only be on a one year contract.

Agreed , I just wander what Feltons value is around the league. I think it's much higher than most people think.

I found a link on NBA.com that has the next 5 players most likely to make the jump to the NBA from the NBDL, and C.J Watson is on the list. I'm pretty sure you all remember he played for us in the SL and the preseason. We should give him a call.

I was trying to work a deal around Felton with Chris Wilcox and Delonte West coming back, but it's just really hard to make the salaries work. I'm not really sure who you guys would consider 'throw ins' to make the salaries match up..
Walter Hermann, Othella Harrington, Raymond Felton for Delonte West, Chris Wilcox, Johan Petro and the sonics adding there 2nd rounder or possibly the phx 1st.
That's about the best I could do, but I'm sure you guys have better options out there. Good luck the rest of the season!
That was a trade offer from a Sonics fan on RealGM.  I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago on this site because it's pretty good value for us IMO.  I don't think I'd do it...but at the least I think it shows Felts' value is pretty darn good.

I'd let CJ take the ball out of McInnis' hands. We could get him cheap, obviously. The thing about Earl is that he would score. I don't know what kind of a scorer CJ is. Also, due to his rookie-ness, I'm not sure he would be good enough to break the emotional bond shared between Sam and Jeff. Earl might be able to do that. Let's be clear though, Okafor is of more importance than Boykins or any other backup PG. No way we should sign any FA to more than a 1-year deal. Just recall the lesson taught by Aesop's great fable, "Othella and the Two-Year Contract."

I'd do that West, Wilcox, and Petro deal in a heartbeat. ESPECIALLY if they threw in their 1st rounder. I think I might actually shed tears of joy. A top 10 pick? I'd even be happy with a protected 1st, or even a 2nd.

I'd be more inclined to do it if West wasn't on his last year. If we had done this we wouldn't have ANY PG under contract the next season. You have to think before getting into that position.

Add Boykins after that trade. Felton is the only real value in the trade, and we get tons in return. No way that Seattle would ever do that trade, however.
Boykins is the greediest player out there. He was taking more shots than Redd when he was with the Bucks for crying out loud. I don't see how he would help us to be honest.
I saw screw the Boykins idea. Keep Felton, move Jeff to the 3rd string PG and bring in Beno Udrih in free agency over the summer to back up Ray.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! From what you say, Jeff will be on the roster next year.

I like the Udrih idea. Next years list of players not on the team:
Mcinnis
D. Anderson
Othella
Hollins (possibly)
I'd like to add:
Tyronn Lue, Chris Duhon, or Jose Juan Barea to backup Felton
Ronald Murray
Patrick O'Bryant
Others definitely but those are a few of the players that I saw to fill those roster spots...

Meh, if Boykins can score, I have no problem with him taking shots.
