View Full Version : New Rotation
So there's all this talk now with the changes we've made about what our new rotation will look like. Here's what I envision:
Poing Guard
1st string - Raymond Felton
2nd string - Jeff McGinnis
Shooting Guard
1st string - Jason Richardson
2nd string - Matt Carroll
3rd string - Derek Anderson
Small Forward
1st string - Gerald Wallace
2nd string - Jared Dudley
Power Forward
1st string - Emeka Okafor
2nd string - Jermareo Davidson
3rd string - Othella Harrington
Center
1st string - Narz Mohammed
2nd string - Ryan Hollins
Since Davidson was sent to the D-League this means that we still pretty much have no depth at the big guy positions and we basically have to pray that Emeka and Nazr stay out of foul trouble every game (not very likely).
Furthermore, I, like almost everybody else here am sick and tired of seeing McGinnis getting all those minutes. We're basically seeing Bernie+BK love story part deux. All this talk from Vincent about "how can I keep Jeff out when he's playing so well" playing so well??? We've gone 2-10 since that 6-4 start, how well can he be playing!!!???
As far as I'm concerned Derek Anderson should not be seeing any minutes what so ever. He's so far past his playing days it's hard not to feel for him every time he runs the floor or attempts a shot in traffic. J-Rich and Matt should be the only guys getting PT at SG period!
I wish Dudley would see more playing time, he's so effective in my opinion when he gets to play at least 20 minutes.
With Davidson gone we're gonna be forced to rotate our three big guys at both C and PF and we'll be seeing a lot of small line-ups that's for sure. I'm scared of what will continue to happen when Okafor goes on the bench for a rest or in foul trouble. What about when both Okafor and Nazr will be sitting? Gulp....

Wasn't that rescinded the same day because of the trade? Or did we decide to send him again?

Well, it's scary sure, but it's nothing we haven't seen already.

I agree with this more or less.....
But you confuse me here.... ???

Did he go to the D league? he is listed at the top on the line ups, I thought they called him back since the trade....

Me too Im tired of McInnis but coach uses him for his experience since he still dont think Felts can do it, Felts still plays because he is good and can play well but struggles at the point.

DA still has things to contribute, but that said I would only use him in emergencies....
I wish Dudley would see more playing time, he's so effective in my opinion when he gets to play at least 20 minutes.
He deserves alot more minutes, coach has a tendency to "freak" and start changing rotations and gets everybody off key, then once they are hitting the bricks he dont play them no more... :g:

Is Davidson leaving or is he staying? :g:

I'm pretty sure they called Davidson back up the same time we made the Narz trade, but I could be wrong. To honest with you guys, I'd rather see DA getting minutes rather than McInnis, and I'd also want to see a Felton, DA backcourt before the Felton, McInnis backcourt.
We still don't have that much depth at C and PF, but when we have Hollins or Davidson in then I'd rather see Okafor or Narz out there with one of them. Like Okafor and Hollins, Narz and Davidson because having Davidson and Hollins out there at the same time wouldn't go too smoothly.

Davidson is still with the club. DA started last year slow and caught fire. He's best served in the position you have him in.
My bad guys, I didn't know we called Davidson back.

It's confirmed that Nazr will be the starting center tonight versus Utah.

Good. Why else did we acquire him?

To sit on the bench behind Hollins, just kidding. I'm excited to see what he can do for us in the starting role. Somewhere between 25-35 minutes.

Guys Im starting to like that lineup of felts-jrich-wallace-dudley-okafor. Sure it doesnt let Okafor play his natural pos, but against Atlanta i remember it being pretty effective. I mean Dudley scored 7 pts or so in 5 mins. The one problem with this lineup and the lineup of felts-carroll-jrich-wallace-okafor is that Okafor picks up fouls fast. I still think that the lineup is up in the air until we get a legit go to guy and maybe an upgrade at the 5 and 2.

One thing I don't understand is how does Nazr keep Oak any more out of foul trouble then Herrmann or Dudley. I understand the trade (A little) but not out of a "lets keep Oak out of foul trouble" kind of way.

Because Nazrs a big that will more likely be under the basket to draw fouls instead of dudley or wallace who wont be there when someone drives. Okafor will though, more likely picking up the foul

Just like tonights game is how, they found out tonight that we have a double threat in bigs now because Nazr can play..... :g:

I am very impressed with the team tonight. Mostly, that they were down by double digits and did not just mail it in in the 4th. They fought and overcame! Very pleased with Nazr tonight. If he gives us this nightly as an avg, I will declare this trade a manor success.
I did not like Okafor taking only 8 shots. Nazr is there to play with Okafor, to supplement hiim, not to relace him. Okafor needs to take charge and yell for the ball more! Still that is all I can honestly complain about tonight. Great win!

You're right, OHara. I've said before, Oak's gotta play pissed and want the ball. Really, he didn't have the night he usually does. But, there will be nights when Nazr isn't playing like tonight, and I have faith that Oak will be there on those nights and others. This is still part of adjustment, but I'll take this type of team play any day of the week.
