Tonight we'll see if the Bobcats were motivated by Michael Jordan's presence at practice yesterday.
So what do you guys think? Are we going to see some solid effort tonight and get a win, or are we going to have more of the usual???

Hopefully MJ's talk will be enough of a spark because we are really overmatched. I see a good battle between Boozer and Okafor , but hopefully Okafor and Nazr wont pick up too many fouls. Im also looking for a big game from Jrich. Step up and show us something, the Jazz are weak at the 2!

Boozer vs Okafor and Ray vs Deron are the match ups I'm most looking forward to watching tonight. Like Zig said I'm hoping the players will be motivated by MJ's comments and we can finally improve our record tonight with a W.

This probably isn't the best game to follow up MJ's team-wide backhand slap to the face. The Jazz are a good team and Boozer's putting up career numbers. I think the match-up that we'll need to work is Wallace against AK47. They're defense has been subpar lately, and if we up ours (a lot), then we can win it. I hope the guys took MJ's message to heart.
Go Bobcats!

In 7 minutes....4 points 1 rebound 1 block and 1 assist....not bad so far I'm liking him...
Cats up 14-10 with 5:52 to go in first...

Well I just stared at a blacked out TV Channel 14 for about five minutes until I realized that tonight is the night that "MIConnection" (aka hostile local town government co-op) takes over Time Warner in my area.
Awesome.

I wish the refs would let them play and not call so many fouls, Raymond needs to start shooting a bit better 1-6, with only 2 points...Nazr has 6 points 4 rebounds 1 block & 1 assist in 13 minutes of play, only thing I don't like is the 4 turnovers...Also the bench needs to shoot a bit better...If Mek, Ray and one or two of our players off the bench could do decent scoring in the 2nd half and Crash and Jrich keep it up, we could easily win this game...it's tied up at 43 at the half and hasn't been that great of a game...very slow paced with all the subs, timeouts, turnovers & fouls...
ON THE LINK: It's from channelsurfing.net and doesn't work every game, but nonetheless it's working tonight...

Scared!
Felton and Mek look off...Felts was afraid to shoot the 1st quarter and Mek can't seem to catch a pass or hit a layup. Boozer is giving him fits too.
Nazr is looking pretty decent!
The bench isn't helping out much, and Touche' looks TERRIBLE. The pace slowed to a crawl when they subbed him in and it seems hard for us to get back out of it.
Crash is being an all star tonight. He even passed on the drive!

We never have a good 3rd quarter, and the Jazz usually don't have that good of a 4th quarter, so I'm a bit nervous and scared...We really need a win, Ray and Mek are scaring me though, they do seem off tonight, and the bench isn't helping much either..Their bench is outscoring our bench 11-3

I love Mek a lot...but if you notice Nazr makes himself available for the pass, and he'll quickly move it out...he LOOKS to pass. It wouldn't shock me at all if he continues to get at least as many looks as Mek does.
And major props to Jason Richardson. He went 8 of 14 for 24 points, had 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocked shots...as well as hitting 2 FTs at the end.
Stellar game.

I am impressed tonight. The team could have mailed it in in the 4th when down by double digits, but they did not. They fought tonight like I really have not seen them in the past.
Also, I will happily say that the trade will have been a success if Nazr can give us this kind of output on a nightly basis. I will be very happy indeed!
One question. Why was Okafor so ineffective on the offensive end tongiht? Only took 8 shots. Nazr is here to supplement you Okafor, not to replace you, damnit. Score some for us, please.

HE CALLED US THE HORNETS AGAIN!
reckon he knows our name now...
Guys, the only thing better than watching that beautiful basketball (props to Nazr!) was reading the play-by-play here! I got to relive it all again. Sweet!
This morning the folks on "1st and 10" said that it was an awful move by Jordan to practice with the team. Well, I expect it from these talking heads, but let the record show that it probably was behind the kind of play we had tonight. Beautiful basketball, what more can I say. Passing. It got scary at times (McInnis), but we came back from DOWN BY 12 to win by 6!
Note: We were down by 12 and Sammy pulls Okafor (not 5-foul-Felton) for Matt Carroll. I got nervous and questioned the decision. I was thinking, "So, I guess it's prayer time already." Now, did Matt start raining 3's? No. Instead, the court gets spread and we find Nazr. 2pts, 2 fts, JRich outside for 3. Bam! Guess who's back in the game? Guess who's got the momentum? Guess who won?
I'm not gonna get ahead of myself, though. I'm real pumped from this game (IT'S A BLOCK PARTY!), but we've got many more to go. Let's run through the hapless knickerbockers on Friday.
GO BOBCATS!

That would of been game over usually but I couldn't believe my eyes when the shots kept falling and the stops kept coming and we went on that amazing run! UNBELIEVABLE! I just hope they continue to play with that kind of fire for the rest of the season. We can still make some noise! COME ON BOBCATS!!
Poor game by Okafor but Nazr picked up the slack. He's gonna help us a ton, that was a great acquisition for us.

Were you able to catch the game Ohara? Mek and Felts both looked tentative as everything thru most of the game...Felts wasn't shooting in the 1st, then did a flurry to start the 2nd (like someone mentioned it). Mek was back to missing point blank shots, and that 10 ft bank shot wasn't even close...once he hit the side of the backboard.

Good catch Alex! I didn't notice that at all, but it's great. That's one of those stats where if it goes unnoticed, then that means you did your job.
Overall, what was the team count on dribbling-ball-off-of-feet-and/or-out-of-bounds? 2 maybe? Good to see that we're keeping that stat down. (It's ridiculous to be saying something negative about this game. Let's ride this wave of confidence and positivity into Friday - channeling my inner Bill Walton.)
On another note...

No, Spectre, I did not get the game on TV or on-line last night. My folks flew up from FL so we were spending the evening talking and such. Have them up here for 2 weeks for the Holidays.
By what I can tell, a very solid game for Nazr. If he can do this every game, he will be well worth $6 mil/yr for the next 3. That would alleviate the pressing need for someone to play with Okafor which has killed us so far.
What was the deal with Okafor? 6 pts and 9 rebs? I thought having Nazr was suppose to help Okafor, not hold him back? LOL. He needs to dominate the 4 position now if Nazr can hold down the 5 spot. Happy for a good game from J-Rich too.
Finally, I was keeping up on-line periodically catching the score. When we were down 12 half way thru the 4th, I was stunned that they dug deep and fought their way to victory. In the past, they would have mailed in the loss in that situation.
**Is this the start of a mental and attitude change in our Bobcats? I hope so. That kind of never say die, never quit attitude has been missing so far this year. It could mean a major change in the way this team plays for the rest of the year if it is so. We will have to wait till the next couple games and see.

Our next 9 of 10 games are very winnable, Orlando is the toughest team and they've been struggling...If we could keep an attitude like we had last night, and OK could get his scoring up while Nazr continues to do well... A long winning streak would be real nice...
