First of all, I enjoy this site but cant post as much as I would like due to work. I love the Bobcats and want them to succeed as much as everyone on this board. With that being said...

What is our facination with trades? I have read many threads about trading our players. I will be the first to admit that I never thought we were going to make even one trade. In my opinion trades are very tricky. Short term, yes they could solve a problem and heck we could get knocked out of the playoffs in the first round if we are lucky.

We all need to realize that we are still in the building process. We have a bunch of young guys with potential but we are going to need some patience or we will be that team that can never make it past the first or second round.

The second is the overreacting. After once game Nazr is God and Okafor just isnt worth the money. Felton is clutch. J-Rich is finally showing why we got him. Next game...Okafor deserves the max, trade felton, Nazr is a wasted roster spot, etc...

Im not calling out anybody here because I enjoy reading all of your posts. Lets just call a spade a spade... The Bobcats are not playoff caliber playing like they are. They have the potential so we will see what happens.

As far as what I would like to see.
1. Felton: Keep playing aggressive. Good things happen(usually)
2. J-Rich: Take over like you should. He is really deferring to others.
3. Okafor: Get pissed
4. Wallace:

Now, my question to you all. Last year, Hermann exploded in the second half of the season. Who will do it this year?

I pretty much agree with everything you said.

I was very positive about the Nazr trade, but I'm not expecting him to score much more than 12-14 points most nights, if that.

That said, I think his presence as a legitimate big will make us much better as a whole. He's certainly no magic pill, but he'll be a big help for us.

The roller-coaster ride that is some people's assessment of which players are valuable and who aren't does get kinda laughable at times.

Also, people get really excited about the opportunity to play GM, coach, etc. It's like when you're a little kid and you put on your Dad's clothes and play "grown-up." Anyone who expects Nazr to be a 20 and 10 guys every night is a few slices short of a loaf, but I gotta echo what dnb's saying. Not gonna lie, I was happy we brought him in.

It's all in fun, though, right? People will and should "enjoy" their fanhood of the Bobcats in whatever way maximizes their happiness. Dare I say, after all is said and done, it's just a ballgame...

Anyone who doesn't think Okafor is worth keep are idiots, it is one game, but I've like the Nazr trade since the beginning and I am glad to have him, he's done real well so far, I dont expect 17 ppg a night, but I expect at least 11-12...

What I like is that we now have a double threat with bigs, a double threat with wings, and then point. I'll say this about Mek, let him get hurt and sit out a few games and people will see what all he does for this team by what its lacking without him,

He is 2nd only to Primoz as a defender; :hysterical: NOT.... :g:

Nazr is just a quility proven veteran, Agreeded hes not going to score 17 points and pull down 8 boards. I don't how ever think 17 and eight will be his seasons high. And i don't think he averages that much either. I would be happy with 10 and 6 and the defencive presence of two bigs in the game at the same time. That being said i will say i loved our rotation last night . It was the best rotation coach V has had all year . Thats the kind of rotation i envisioned from day one.
Hollins coming in backing up OK50 and Nazr
Dudley giving quility mins for Wallace
Carroll geting quility mins at the two behind Rich [Carroll didn't produce much but still good rotation]
Mcinnis giving Felton quility mins as a back up.
Great rotation , best all year

Yeah last nights rotation seemed smooth and fell right into place at the right time. I hope V sticks with this lineup and stops his experiments because this is the one that worked. I think this was a good trade not only because of his abilities but also his experience. He can teach the young guys alot of things. :g:

"Hey Hollins! get out your notebook and take alot of notes and learn from Nazr so you can take over someday."

with my topic i posted, i didn't mean to say nazr was god or jrich was finally earning his cash...i was just happy that nazr could fit right in and hoped that nazr and jrich could keep up the good work

Who will break out in the second half of the season.

I say Felts, I saw something last night that I never seen in him before

He's want to "GET IT"

I think a light blub came on last night, when he begged Coach V to not take him out of the game, and he played with 4 fouls, and didnot get another one.

I agree that there is some overreacting. I think everyone here is pretty passionate about wanting the team to succeed. I think the tricky part is the balance between short term and long term success. I don't think the Bobcats can afford to rebuild for 3 or 4 more years and so the need to pull the trigger on a couple of trades (and have this year) to move us closer to that 8th spot. I think we'll fall just short and with some health, a good draft, and the re-signing of 'mek ($13M/yr was more than fair, IMO) we should be able to get there next year.

Nazr should be an 8/8 guy for us. That's my expectation. He should free up Okafor to score more but, more importantly, allow us to tighten up defensively in the paint.

well if this is aimed partially at my thread about emeka, I still hold to it, its what I believe, Emeka is not consistent enough, but in these crazy trade times, people are quick to jump to conclusions and want to call all the shots, but its natural as a fan and one who is happy for their team when they do well to get excited

heres my thought, one game is not an excuse for constant inconsistency, there are 82 1 games before playoffs and all of them make a difference about how the bobcats do this season

Welcome to a message board. thats what happens in these places. Thats why they are here. Its an instant sounding board. You see something that excites you and you wanna share. Theres gonna be knee jerking and fantasy trades galore. But thats what this place is for. Its for fans who want to think about their team and can come here and do so with the advice of others. Its a fan community.

If I think the team needs to bring in a certain player... you bring it up here and see how it is received. will it ever happen... more than likely no. But its a chance to see what others think about your opinion. and sure it might not mean anything at all in the long run, but it is nice to be on the same page as the majority of your fan base.

Look if we all agreed on everything, if we all hated trades, if we all wanted the same players to get minutes... this site wouldnt exist. i know the knee jerking gets old sometimes... but it is what it is, and it makes messages boards great in a weird way.

Also, my break out player is Felton. Thanks for all the great posts!!
