The New York Knicks coming to town creates an outstanding opportunity for us to win our second straight game.
The 8-17 Knicks are disaster.
Bad Coach + Bad front office + Lazy players = Good news for the Bobcats

Good game, as a Knick fan I am goin go for my team. But good luck to yall anyway.

People to watch out for...

Jamal Crawford, David Lee... Watch out for EC too... even though he is having a bad start to the season... I predict a 104-93 win for the Knicks.

Bobcats have the advantage over the Knicks in there 3 years in the NBA. They out performed the Knicks.. But the .01 tip in was beautiful..

Go Knicks. and Good luck to you guys too.

This game is very hard to predict; on one night they lose terribly to the Pacers then they beat up on the Cavs.

We've NEVER had any luck stopping Zach Randolph when he was on the Blazers, and Curry usually get's his on offense. Marbury being out probably helps them more than hurts them.

I'm worried about this game...before Nazr I was REALLY worried about matching up to the Knicks. It's just going to depend on which team shows up (for both side).

Have a great time WvsMc!!!

Agreed Spectre for some reason Zach always seems to go off on us offensively but I'm hoping we'll see the same Bobcat team that I saw against the Jazz show up tonight. To be honest I know a win is a win but if we don't win in convincing fashion tonight I'll be dissapointed.

I see Crash continuing where he left off the other night by being player of the game once again.

I have to say, this is a crucial game in my opinion. The Utah game was great for our confidence. To match up inside with the Knicks will tell us if Nazr and Okafor can be the defensive presence we need inside. Tonight will tell us a lot about the rest of the season. Mark my works my friends - tonight will tell us a lot about our Bobcats. And strangely enough, I have a good feeling about the game tonight!

I agree with your assessment, tonight will show us what side of the bubble we lay "at this point in time", I mean this will only be Nazr's 2nd game starting and Im sure he will continue to get tighter with the team as time goes on.
I have high hopes and feel we can win this game if we play with the same intensity we did the other night against the Jazz.... :g:

A big reason on why Randolph always has stellar games against us is his outside shooting. Mek is very squeemish playing those perimeter big guys and I doubt Nazr is any better.

Agreed tho; if we just play our game and not get into foul trouble (Nazr/Mek) then we should take the win.

dav7z
12-21-2007, 04:30 PM
This is a winable game . But we got to hold our own at the four and the five position. That is key . All so was our game intensty a one game thing or are we ready to inprove. I think we better at the Point two and small foward positions. Even though Crawford will be hard to handle.
Prediction our bigs come through Naz and OK . And our intensity is going to be good . Home game close win BOBCATS.

How is that? We had our best defender Primoz Brezec on him :funkybanana:

Seriously though If we lose this game I'll truly be upset, the Knicks are coming off their best game, but I don't believe it'll happen again, they are 1-9 on the road, and I don't think they'll beat us at home, definitely if we show the heart we had against the Jazz...

Preview: The New York Knicks (8-17) travel south to Charlotte, NC to face the Charlotte Bobcats (9-14). New York had their most impressive out their last game and look to carry the momentum in and out of Charlotte, but it’ll be rough as their momentum will clash with the momentum of the Bobcats as well. The Bobcats who were down 12 with less than 6 minutes to go in the game, fought back against the Jazz Wenesday night, and ended up winning by 6. Nazr Muhammad made his first start and scored 17 points last night, the Cats would love to see him hit the level or even surpass that tonight. Charlotte would probably also like to see Emeka Okafor see the ball a bit more and get a few more shots in, while the Knicks look to shut down the Cats and win their third game of their last four. Can the Knicks show the rest of the NBA that they are folding over quite yet, or will the Bobcats scratch their way to another victory? Find out tonight, live in Charlotte, NC!

Two game winning streak is a good look for us I just wish we could have continue to build on the lead more right after the half so we could have sat our starters in the 4th to rest them for the game against the Bucks.

Yea I'm a bit worried about tomorrows game, but a win tonight is good, and gets us back-to-back for the first time in a while.

Nazr's stats: 19 pts 13 rbs 3 stls 1 assist 4 blocks

I know when we made the trade money was the reason some people didn't like it, but if Nazr can do anything close to what he is doing night in and night out, he's definitely worth the money...Him and Okafor are sick together...4 BLOCKS! Last night as a team we had 9 blocks, tonight we have 8 blocks...great defense...

ohara831
12-21-2007, 09:45 PM
OK. That is back to back great games for Nazr. 20 pts, 14 reb and 4 blks is more than I was hoping for. I hope I am not getting my hopes up too high, but he is turning into a great acquisition! And just think, we got rid of Primoz for him! I liked Herrmann, but he was not going to be an inside presence for us. I wonder if Detroit fans are keeping tabs on the last couple games to see how he performs? If so, they are probably not too thrilled at this point.

I thought this was a big game for us. Now, we just have to stay focused on the court and not let the game start to get away in the 4th. The Knicks made a hard run at us in the 4th. A much better team may have made the comback complete. We have to be tougher and more focused.

But, I am proud of them tonight!

Damn Tupac...talk about seeing the future!

What a frigging 1st half that was!!!!! We moved...we moved the ball...we fed the post...we hit shots!!!! THAT'S the way Bobcats play basketball!

That bench of theirs has done this before; they come in working hard and hungry playing some tight D and eat into a big lead while the other team gets lazy. Main thing is we held them off. A very nice win!!!

And like you guys are saying...Nazr is DA MAN!!!!! Who says we lost that trade now?

Edrow
12-21-2007, 09:49 PM
Good game tonight by our guys. A couple of quick thoughts:

Nazr Kamikaze is the man! As long as he stays within five feet of the basket.

I really enjoyed the inside feeds and looks our team was utilizing this game. I saw a lot of *Think about dishing it inside before shooting* decisions tonight, and I think it paid off. Although we weren't too bad from the perimeter tonight either, but you guys get the idea. Unselfish play leads to better looks at the basket.

The hustle that the team had tonight was admirable to say the least. The defining example of that is Matt Carroll's skeleton luge like lunge for the ball with less than a second left in the quarter (Half? I can't remember). Effort like that means the boys are playing their butts off. That's a good sign.

All in all I thought it was an awesome game, and i'm not just saying that b/c I got to boo Isiah Thomas for the first time =).

Have a safe and happy holiday season guys and gals, it looks like Santa gave us an early Christmas present!

Spectre: I had mentioned that I would be very happy with this trade and admit that I was wrong if Nazr could prove to be a double double guy. Well, he is doing his best to make me eat my words, and I will be very happy to do so if he continues this pace! I am more than pleasantly surprised!

Ohara, no need to admit anything...Nazr was a gamble, not for what we gave up (even tho giving up Fabio wasn't great) but the salary we took on. It's still early, but I think we're all surprised how well we play when we have an experienced big in there. No faults on Mek (I blame his coaching under John Blair), but Nazr does everything we were trying to get Mek to do.

I had no idea he'd work this well.

ohara831
12-21-2007, 10:21 PM
As big as the Utah win was, and as big as the Knicks win was tonight, now we have another big game. Tomorrow we play the Bucks, who are going to be rested. We will be coming to play on a back to back. We have not done well with the back end of the back to backs this season. The Bucks are 10-15, a 1/2 game worse than our record. We are more than capable of winning now, so this is not the most important game of the season coming up. (and yes, if we win it, then the next one will be the most important game coming up)

We are slowly getting ourselves back into the playoff hunt and tomorrow night will be crucial. We have to make us ground when playing bad teams because the last of the season will be a grueling road challenge for us. We have to get back into contention now, get established, and then hang on during the last month of the regular season. Right now, we are 1 and 1/2 games out of the 8th spot.

ohara831
12-21-2007, 11:26 PM
Oh yeah, and the Bucks lost their starting SF Mason for a couple months with Thumb surgery. Mason was Ok on both offense and defense, so Crash should have a big edge against whomever they put on him tomorrow night.

Right on, man! Like ohara, the only reason I wasn't thrilled with the trade was only because of the contract commitment, obviously not losing Primoz, though more reluctantly, Walter. But Nazr has been an absolute beast, and a legit post scoring threat. Also, where are those "stone hands" I remember some Pistons fan talking about Nazr having? Nice touch from 8 and within, and hasn't fumbled any balls that I can remember. What's so remarkable is how it seems the team is gelling like never before since he came on board: GW and JR are getting a noticeable "feel" for each other, and giving each other nice passes when they're in scoring position; also, the ball movement looks better than ever at times, which could never happen with Primoz, whose basketball IQ is lightyears behind Nazr's.

Very nice win, and depending on tomorrow night's game, we could be in the midst of a Bobcats culture paradigm shift!! Exciting stuff, but I'm not going to get too carried away, let's just bask in this victory and hope we can put ourselves in position to pull out a roadie tommorow night!!!

Damn, it would have been awesome if I could seen the game tonight. Narz with 20/14/4 was him going into BEAST mode. We all thought he'd come in here and be a 8/8 guy but he's definitely surpassing our expectations and I don't think anyone is sad about that.

Anybody noticed Felton took only 5 shots tonight but still had double digits pts and 9 assists. I like seeing that. Anyway we probably played our best and most complete game of the season tonight. Let's keep this going heading into MIL tomorrow.

12-22-2007, 12:55 AM
Nazr probably has learned a lot of things playing in San Antonio with Tim Duncan, as well as in Detroit with Rasheed. Then while I may not be able to tell you who played on his previous teams (Philadelphia, NY and Atlanta), but he had to pick something up there too...

Muttley
12-22-2007, 02:14 AM
It may be that the "Bobcat's Motto" needs to be updated...

Gotta say though, as happy I am about tonight (and boy... am I..), I've said that tomorrow will be Nazr's true test. He's 30 (not that that's old... just older after 9 seasons in the NBA). He's played only 2 full games all season. It's gonna be tough to produce these kinds of numbers on the back-to-back with travel to Milwaukee. (Which is Algonquin for "the good land.")

BUT, he's a veteran. I think he'll be fine. He's shown no sign thusfar of slowing. Gotta love it!

Oh, and while I'm here, Emeka had a solid 17-8 performance tonight. Not shabby at all.

Like Ive said the last 2 games we have double threat bigs now along with double threat wings and Felts too. I hope we dont go into this next game tired and maybe a little over confident from the 2 wins. Remember Milwaukee at home isnt NY on the road. We need to play with the same intensity we had against Utah and the first half of last nights game against NY.

The last 2 games:

Wallace 53 PTS 7 RB 6 AST
J-Rich 41 PTS 10 RB 9 AST
Mohammed 37 PTS 22 RB 2 AST
Felton 27 PTS 9 RB 16 AST
MEK 23 PTS 17 RB 2 AST

Not too bad at all.... :g:

NYK's a disaster. I almost feel bad for them. The team needs a complete overhaul. The NYKnickerbockers are the newest expansion team.

I doubt that there will not be a mass exodus of fan abandonment, though. Maybe I could see a lot of people start pulling for the Nets if they had already moved to Brooklyn, but that's still not for a few years.
