I'll admit that this topic isn't deserving of its own thread, but due to my scathing criticism of JR, it is my duty to have a thread where I can post my apologies throughout the season.
First and foremost, I've always said I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong, and in the case of JR the verdict is still open, but damn if he didn't have a brilliant game against the Jazz. Slashing to the hoop, drilling 3s, hitting FTs, and playing very solid D!!!! This is the JRich I was expecting in the trade, and this has not been the JRich we've seen so far this season. I really enjoyed how he and GW played off each other so well also, with GW giving great backdoor passes to a cutting JRich on at least 2 occassions.
Awesome game, Jason. Looks like you might've finally found your comfort zone with the Cats, and that is nothing but good for us!!!! Keep playing to your strengths, keep excelling, and keep making me look like a moron....I wouldn't have it any other way!!!!
He really did have an excellent game. Who knows maybe Mike really got to him. Like I said in another thread, he just seems lost out there and uncomfortable but he looked like he had been around the guys since the start last night.

Beagle i like you have wandered about J Rich and his game. I kinda think we had four players thinking im the man . All trying to do it by them self .
In all reality Wallace, Rich, Felton , and OK50 all look better playing team ball.

I think we had a team of players all trying to find "themselves" = "individual" so to speak and Jordan went to the practice and made sure they found "each other" = "team".... :g:

Solid game for JR tonight. Not spectacular (excepting the incredible first half!!!), but very solid. The FGs and FTs weren't there in the 2nd half, but he kept his head in the game, got us some boards, and blocked the hell out of an unsuspecting David Lee!!!
Would have liked to have seen more driving to the hoop, but in the 2nd half the Knicks did a pretty good job of not giving any player a true iso, outiside of Raymond, or our big boys down low.
Overall, it looks like Jason's finding his way!!!!!

yep, keep it going... he thrives at an offense like golden state were there is constant motion and a fast tempo, a quick open three or only two men back and he can drive against them, slowing the game down and having him slash doesnt work as well as we expected, though he did show his ups with that block... the ft's though, o man

I am not yet prepared to say I was wrong on my assessment of his game. I think he is still way too limited for the money. My biggest criticism has been that if he is so limited, then at least let his scoring be somewhat consistant. He will have a great game, then an avg game, then he will stink it up for a 2-3 game stretch. Then, it repeats itself. That has been my biggest concern since scoring from the outside seems to be his only real skill I've seen so far. I would think he is worth a little more than Carroll, and a tad under what we pay Crash. That would be fair.

He's coming alone I'm just happy to see him attacking the basket more.

I tkink hes starting to settle in . Im just guessing but think hes going to average about 18 ppg at years end and become more and more consistant.
Any one noticed his defence the last two games it's much better. Him and Wallace have finaly decided to play toghter.
This team is better than any of us think now thet we have a big. You will be surpiized at how much differance it makes.

Missed out on giving any love to Jason for the Wiz game, but another very good game from our man tonight!!! The 3s were there, and I loved the jumpfake 3 at the top of the key, and then the blowby, with a sweet acrobatic layin to finish the play!! That was every bit as gorgeous, to me, as the sweet slam at the start of the game. Unfortunately, he followed up that moved with a fadeaway jumper over a shorter, smaller Pargo, when he could have easily muscled his way to the basket. Also, the D was lacking, but it was for the entire team, outside of a few inspired efforts from GW and Nazr.
Even though, his much improved play hasn't resulted in any wins of late, I'm still glad to see him perform like the JRich that was advertised during the summer!! Keep making me look like a moron for giving up on you, JR!!!!!!!

Jason appears to be the only Bobcat that truly took Jordan's 2 day visit to heart. Jordan told him to drive more...he's driving more. He's working hard on defense (that doesn't mean he'll ever be a stellar man defender) and we're seeing a few results...like the 4 steals vs. WAS the other night.
In the last couple of games he's the only player to actually show his heart for most of the game.

Best game yet!!! Defense on Turkoglu in the 4th was not there, but in his defense, that's a matchup he should have no part of; still I don't know why he couldn't keep him in front of him because he's not that fast that he should be able to continually blow by JR.
The synergy between GW and JR keeps growing, even though the wins still aren't coming, but 2 guys can't do it by themselves.
Major kudos on the FTs!!! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come and not just an aberation.
Finally, Jason, you do get it, unfortunately I don't know if your coach does :-\

Holy cow, Jason!!! What a damn good pickup he's been. I'm an ass. An idiot. A moron. I gave up on him just before he found his groove, and I apologize for that, and am thankful for it to boot!! This thread has served it's purpose and I don't anticipate ever having to use it again. JR is turning out to be better than expected with his ridiculous 3pt shooting. Long live JR's reign!!!!

This is a different sort of apology to JRich. This is a more general apology coming from empathy and pity towards JRich. I feel bad for the guy. Really. (Well, aside from the fact he's earning mutli-millions this year and the next, and so on and so on.... ) He left an energetic, happy go lucky team, with a veteran coach who has a defined system that is a blast to play in; a team coming of an historic run in the playoffs, with the potential for future playoff berths for years to come; a team that he suffered with, taking out a full page ad in the local paper apologizing for not making the playoffs, and vowing to make them the next year (which they did). Instead of being able to continue to take part in the success and comraderie of Golden State, he is mired in hell here in Charlotte. He deserves better than to be a part of this trainwreck that is the Bobcats.
From a fan that appreciates the good guy that you are, the effort you give, and the plight you now find yourself in, I'm truly sorry. Maybe MJ will be a man and do what needs to be done, and we can start to turn this thing around before it's too late to turn around (and I'm talking about the future of the franchise, not, obviously, this season, which is lost).

I generally agree with your apology. At the moment, he should be dreaming of not having been traded in June 2007, still playing for the "really runnin" and "competitive in every aspect" Warriors. This is understandable.
But he has to behave professional, which exactly he does. He's being paid 10+ millions to go and do his best. Bobcats are now really like a trainwreck. But this is not fans fault. This is the fault of either the coach, the management or the other players etc. Not ours.
The only thing I can say him is: "I really really definitely appreciate your professionalism and work ethic. I'm proud as a fan that you've been a part of our club. Hopefully we'll see better days before your contract expire."

Good call, tamb. I was too busy focusing on the negative aspects of Jason's plight, I never mentioned the positives for the fans. So, while I do feel sorry for JRich coming into a situation like we have here in Charlotte, as a fan, I am very happy to have him on the team and really couldn't ask for anything more!!

When you sit back and look at it, we are very spoiled to have both JRich and Crash on our team, no matter our record. They're both great ballplayers and, from what I heard, great gentlemen. They give it their all and if need be, they'll put the team on their backs and try to carry them to victory. It's a special tandem we have, and if we can build smart around them, we'll be set

Couldn't have said it better myself. If we can build around those 2, we can be something special.

this thread repeats what ive been saying. I feel for the guy, im disgusted with how sorry a situation he had to come into. Weve got two great pieces with Gerald and Jrich, but everyone else needs to step up. When one of them is out we canot go into meltdown mode like we are in now.
