The last time that we faced the Bucks, Yi Jianlian ripped us to shreds. We made him look like the Chinese Larry Bird. :-\

This time around lets hope that the Bobcats have something better in mind for him defensively so that he doesn't run wild on us. If they can do that then I think that this is a good opportunity for us to sneak out a win.

Thoughts?

Yeah I have a thought. How about we inscribe a giant Red Star on all game balls. That way, whenever Big Trouble in Little China gets the rock, he panics and throws the ball away.

Sounds like an idea to me.

On a serious note, I'd love to see defense for four actual quarters. That's right, 48:00 minutes. In fact, If Coach V has to get the guys to go out there and block those little kids in wheelchairs from scoring at half time, then so be it.

should be a good game... i will be there in the cheap seats... if they don't have redd we should have a good shot barring an incredible effort from Yi

This is a game that we could have used Herrmann...but even if we did have him, he'd be lucky to get 3 minutes.

We can win this as long as no one gets too tired through crazy line ups. :g:

HA! The Bucks are pulling a "Vincent" and starting Royal Ivey and moving Mo to the 2 guard in place of Redd.

... except that Ivey's averaging 0.6 more ppg than Jeff with about 10 min less pt per game.

(To Jeff's credit, he is averaging 2.5 more assists, but that still doesn't make it seem worth it to start Jeff McInnis and play him 38 minutes.)

Good comeback guys, up by one at the half. Now if we arent tired maybe we can win this one.
The real McInnis has shown up 0pts 2TO's 1RB 0/3 shooting in 15 wasted minutes...

Go Bobcats!!!!!!

Well, since we took the 1st quarter off this game and played the 2nd better, and since we usually take the second half off, maybe we'll just keep playing hard all game. I don't see Gerald or Jason giving up.

Jeff's been putting up solid numbers so far (snicker...)

Wallace, who'd been playing well all game, dribbled it off his foot towards the end when we had a chance to tie it up again. Can't really just put it on that though, since we led with only a few minutes left on the clock and then the Bucks score 11 in a row to put us down.

Not happy. Not happy at all.

listened on the radio, up by 7 with like 3 minutes, then Bucks went on a 10-0 run, bobcats never recovered. Gerald Wallace had the ball stolen from him with 13 seconds left when bobs were down by 2... o well

Our rotations cost us that game. I blame the coaching staff. Why would we go small with McInnis (who sucks balls) and stick Wallace on Yi? Why? Why not put Mek at the 4 at put Nazr at C and thus answering our bigs with their bigs and take advantage of the matchups at the other positions. Plus Felton, J-Rich, and Crash play their natural positions. Look how well we did when Hollins came in and we got atheletic and Felton ran the point.

I don't understand. I think our coach is functionaly retarded.

I bought a 12 game pack so I'm still going to 5 or 6 more games (i can't remember). It's amazing the apprehension I feel every time I get in the car to head to the arena.

And to think my next game is the pistons (ouch).

On a positive note at least Jeff saw his minutes cut down quite a bit. That and these bajillion games we've been losing have been kind of close. Better than losing to philly by 33 (i think?)

Thank heaven for my Tarheels! Don't get me wrong I'm still  and ??? about the Bobcats loss tonight, but beating Clemson the way we did with Wayne going off for 36 pts and the last second 3 definitely takes quite an edge off, so that I can go to bed, at least for tonight with a

Still though, why the hell are we getting no Jared? This is incomprehensible and there's no reason for it. Enough is enough, Vincent! Your latest lineup gimmick isn't working out at all! It's time to try again, or are you not learning from your mistakes...oh that's right, you don't make any; it's the players. What was I thinking?

there isnt a shred of doubt in my mind... Sam Vincent is the worst coach in the NBA. thats right... ill trade right now with the NY Knicks for Zeke.

not to mention after the game on the radio... sam blamed Gerald for the loss.

Gerald played an incredible game but had 8 turnovers... which is a lot (but at least 3 of them were blatant uncalled fouls.)

Point is.. our coach is blaming Gerald... when the team had a 9 point lead and lost because Vincent decides to play Jeff friggin McInnis for the last 5 minutes. and benched Nazr when he was clearly handling Bogut better than Okafor. In comes okafor and McInnis... there goes the lead.

This team doesnt blow... theres talent there. Sam Vincent blowsucks. i pretty much hate him at this point and dont even feel like im being over the top. hes killing something i love.

01-07-2008, 01:33 AM
PS. My boy Ryan Hollins had his best game so far. not a lot of stats really... but definetly played a key role and played effective basketball... enroute to gaining a 9 point lead.

not to mention.. the sickest putback jam youll ever see a 7 footer do. crazy awesome.

just watched it on DVR. un f'n believable - yet somehow i was expecting exactly this kind of loss the whole way through.

yes - Hollins played well. I miss the energy he and Dude brought. vincent ruined that pretty effectively, didn't he?

Crash was great, despite the turnover(s). i hope he doesn't quit to escape the hell-hole that has become charlotte basketball.

sorry folks, but i gotta be honest here. i truly appreciate those of you willing to give vincent a chance, but he has taken a promising, tallented team of young players, and made them both individualy and collectively worse. no doubt about it, and think about the long-term consequences here. our players are individualy and collectively worse now than we were a year ago. it's unlike anything i've ever seen.

now - to the real point here. anyone who seriously thinks this guy should last through the rest of the year (the way things are going now) needs to look closely at this game. can anyone honestly suggest we have less talent than the Bucks? Redd was out for god's sake! NO WAY we should have lost to these guys - even without having to blow a lead like that.

sam may be the nicest, hardest working man on earth. but he is a BUST. total, unquestionable BUST. how much damage are we gonna do to our team, our limited fan base, etc. before this mistake is corrected?

god that was ridiculous. glad most of you in charlotte didn't have to see the game. you'd seriously consider ever watching another.

and yes - i'm a bobcats fan.

ctash/jrich - please dont give up on us, if you havn't already.

Guys, Sam did not blow this game for us. The players had TO's, took some back shots and just fell apart on Defense. Sam did not do anything much different than he had during the entire game when we were leading the second half.

Is he a great Coach? Not so far, I agree. But, we cannot pin every loss on him like that and ignore the fault of those out on the Court actually losing the games.

Mustachio
01-07-2008, 11:41 AM
you can pin the loss on him too.
Gerald had turnovers... but he was getting banged on pretty hard. a good coach would have been all over the refs. not sam. Sam instead waits till the presser and throws Gerald under the bus. great coaching. not to mention his "big plan" as the clock ticked off... was to put Crash in an iso. which is fine if he hadnt run the same thing 100 times in the game. i agree that a coach can only set a plan and the players have to execute. its Sams overall plan that is terrible. and not to beat a dead horse. but playing 4 on 5... you will never win.

i like what fromage says. sums it up nicely.

If you look at the team and the individuals. they have all taken a step back. that is a coaching problem.

If your an NBA coach... and you have a 9 point lead on the Bucks without their top player and lose. you are without a doubt the worst coach ive ever seen.

Where V went wrong; he waited until the game was tied before he ever called a timeout, by then they had the momentum and then the TO's and that was it....
Poor coaching plain and simple..... :g:

I gotta disagree, man. The problem was the bad rotations. We needed the big lineup with OK and Nazr to combat two 7footers. Instead, we went small which left 6'7 crash on 7ft+ Yi. And McInnis sucks balls. When we went to our big lineup with Hollins we opened the game up because we could get more physical around the basket and utilize our better guard and forward players. Coach screwed up, especially in the 4th, when he kept trying to go back to our starting lineup with touche and OK in the middle (who got ate up by Bogut all night, BTW). Coach blew it.
