Tonight we have the triumphant return of PRIMOZ BREZEC!!!!!

 I'm sure that he'll only get 4 minutes of court time but I pray that Crash or J-Rich posterizes him tonight.

On another note Ray is out, but thankfully it doesn't appear to be long term. Will Jeff McInnis' quad be healthy enough to start for us tonight?

I'd feel better making Gerald play PG (Assuming we would want Jason to focus solely on scoring and defending Rip or Tayshaun.)

PG - Gerald
SG - Matt
SF - JRich
PF - Jared
C - Okafor

Really, though, it's better than playing a McInnis who's left than 100%.

Most likely we'll see a starting line up of McInnis, J-Rich, Wallace, Emeka and Nazr. It would be great to see Nazr go off on his former team tonight.

PS - Has anyone heard if D.A. will make the trip tonight?

Well, game's in Charlotte so I assume he'll at least be on the bench. I hope he's in uniform, but I'm not sure. He's officially listed as questionable. Your line-up's probably right, I was just thinking of another "experimental" line-up that I might hope to see. Hope Nazr is up to playing serious minutes tonight.

hmm, do you think tiny boykins has gotten a phone call today? scary thoughts tonight, no idea what's going to happen but we always tend to play the pistons well. Does anyone remember last year when they came to town and the PA announcer would say "whose ball is it?" to which the fans would respond "ugh bobcats?" anyway, good luck getting out of this one with no injuries fellas, go bobcats.

DA or Matt would most likely handle point duties. I could also expect to see Dudley play point-forward.

Looks like Matt is taking the PG role, moving J-rich over to the 2 and Wallace to the 3. Dudley comes in and is playing PF, with Oak at the 5.

I hope Matt can distribute well, because he's never had more than 5 assists in his pro career.

P.S. Dudley, please just focus on rebounding and being our intangibles guy. Don't try to do too much man! We need you to play your strengths.

Absolutely...it's in the CYLINDER, not the rim to be goal tending. Amazing that we hit 2 games in 2 nights and get screwed 2 times in plays that would have decided the game.

Ugh. Really sucks...the guys deserved this win.

I don't care. This was a historic game for the Bobcats. Never have I seen this team play with so much movement and tenacity.

A landmark game for Gerald Wallace. How about Okafor and Mohammed? Think about the feats little Matt Carroll achieved.

What a great team.

It's funny but the injuries actually worked in the Cats favor; forcing our coach to play our best players and putting the ball in their hands at all times. Phenomenal game.

I've believed for a long time this season that we were actually a MUCH better team when we go big; contrary to all the smallness...I feel vindicated :P

I'm so proud of the team that I just really don't care. It's so exciting to see us COMPETE on this level; it's just so invigorating!

Really Crashes drive in the last minute when the ref called a foul on McDyess (which fouled him out) was a very clear charge. I was thinking WOW Wallace got a star call!

So it all goes around, and yup I do think the final call was bad; but whatever.

Still. The Bobcats are evolving into a monster. That is until Sam gets his little point guards back.

The game was pretty intense.

We definitely with amazing hard and intensity, though that's not to confuse intensity with focus. We made a lot of silly mistakes in the first half.

Our offense was sputtering all night. While we scored a fair amount, it was due more to sheer energy than any semblance of an offense. At times we looked completely clueless.

Our hustle and energy was great though, allowing us to keep the Pistons from getting into any kind of groove.

I think Felton would have gotten us the win if we would have played with this much heart and had a proper floor general.

We're definitely waking up from whatever funk we've been in. I just hope we don't fall back asleep.

I was there. It was great. The crowd was unbelievable. The final call was so bad that it has to rank in my top 3 "angry at the ref moments" ever. I would have assaulted him if I were face to face with him.

I want to write some tomorrow when I collect my thoughts. It was deflating to witness it in person. I'm glad Coach V spoke up against that BS call.

In the ref's shoes, you do not call a "grey area" violation when the game hangs in the balance. It has to be irrefutable. If the average person doesn't see it, then don't call it if the game hangs in the balance.

Go Bobcats, you had 8 players in uniform, played your hearts out, and got screwed by the refs. My hats off to the boys tonight.

BREAKING NEWS DUNADUNA Bobcats Coach Sammy "Radio" (He didnt do to bad tonight guys) Vincent, says,
"I'm sure we're going to contact the league... We'd like to do what Miami did and play the last minute over again, also. I believe it would be justified."

Unfortunatly I dont see that happening, as that was a scoring error rather then a ref error, its damn upsetting, to be killed by the refs two nights in a row... goddamnit! Good for Vincent, upon review everyone acknowledged it was legal... more reason for the NBA to use instant replay on game breakers like this...

Really, though, it's better than playing a McInnis who's left than 100%.

... just saying.

I was at the game last night. Unbelievable, as you all know. I didn't have a good line at all on that craptastic call at the end. I was on "Nazr's" side of the basket and thought they called it on him. At the time, I thought that was a terrible call. Now, I find out it was Okafor. I didn't get a good look at it from his side, but there are lots of folks on this board that know what they're talking about, and so I trust it was a ridiculous call. My point is to really echo CMc$.

I thought it was policy to not make "game deciding" calls unless they are crystal freaking clear. There's no way those refs should have called that. Real happy to see Radio step up for the team. He got a tech earlier in the game too. I love to see that. The players need to know that he's there to protect and support them when they're out there giving it their all.

Which brings me to another point. Watching the game last night, no more excuses for these guys. Playing the night after a double overtime loss, without a point guard (at least according to our depth chart), with only 8 available players (2 rookies and a second-year player included), playing against an excellent Pistons team (who I think will have a great shot at the championship this year), playing into overtime and we lose by 3 Freaking Points because of a bad call from the refs? They played with so much intensity last night. I was pleased. I don't really even care that we lost, kinda. From now on, win or lose, I expect them to play like a TEAM from here on out. These guys are phenomenal. I love the Bobcats. I can't wait to watch the Nuggets game. We play with as much intensity every night and good things will happen.

Keetch called this game historic. He's right on. I just get the feeling that the team became one cohesive unit over the last four games right in front of our eyes and even Sam Vincent (who is earning more than just a reprieve for standing up for his guys) is a part of it. I'm just really proud of the way they played. The scoring was well distributed (without a PG). Jason Richardson with 8 assists? Awesome.

Keep it up.

I'd say half of the really hardcore basketball fans in the arena were Pistons fans. I've been to Pistons/Bobcats game before but the Detroit fans really turned out for this one. They were everywhere. I had no idea there were so many detroit fans in the carolinas.

There was this one tool who was giving everyone in pistons clothes and jerseys high fives after the game was over this was in the arena halls so he probably gave hundreds of high fives.

And I'm thinking to myself "is this really high five material?" I mean: you just beat a team with a losing record, who had no point guards, who only dressed 8 players, by 3 points, in overtime, and only because the ref screwed the Bobctats.

He should have been thankful, not boisterous.

I have to say that his coaching has improved, however, he is still coaching pretty poorly from a coaching standpoint. I think he is improving as a motivator.

I'm not sure if he was actually drawing up plays and the boys were not able to come through with them, but how many times did the shot clock expire, or almost expire with G-Force (I'm going with the fake nick thank you) airballing a three or getting his three blocked, or taking a really ugly looking 3 pointer. When you have that many shot clock violations/almost violations it's a good chance it's bad coaching.

Also, his starting lineup was pretty poor. It wasn't until later in the game, after Oak and Nazr got substantial playing time, sometimes together, that this game became winnable. At least in my opinion. At least he was good enough to switch up the lineup after we started getting clobbered.

Tamburello: That was my point earlier. I thought the call was correct. The ball was coming down and looked like it was going to barely reach the rim. That is correctly called. If it had NO chance of hitting the rim, then the call would have been incorrect. That is from my discussion with 2 ACC refs. As much as it hurts, the call was likely correct.

I was at work last night, so I only saw the score before I went to bed to wake back up at 4:30am to go back to work to get some things done. My thoughts were as follows:

Consecutive OT+ losses against playoff teams. Two chances to show that we have "it" and we blew it as always and seemingly forevermore. A playoff team wins these games, or at least one of them. Instead the other team has "it" and always wins against us in these situations. We have to be the most masochistic fan base this side of the Chicago Cubs for suffering for games like these over and over and over and over; predicting the outcome of the game before it happens, hoping you're wrong, but always proven correctly: we just can't win these games, and we can't put any kind of streak together.

After viewing the boxscore and reading a write-up of the game, I see that Matt Carroll killed us again from the FT line. 2-4 against the Cavs, with even 3-4 being enough to win the game for us. 2-5 against the Pistons?!??! WTF, Matt!!!! We should be going absolutely nuts talking about a 4 game win streak against 4 playoff teams, and putting ourselves in position to make a realistic playoff push, but god forbid our best FT shooter can't do any better than 50% from the line in 2 games. This, I'm sure, isn't the only reason for the loss, but it's inexcusable! We don't ask for much from Matt; make 88% or so from the line, shoot the 3s, play respectable D. It just seems pointless.

Despite what has been said, there are no moral victories in my book: a loss= a loss; it's very black and white. Until the league uses a point scale like NHL, and we get 2 pts for a win, and 1 pt for a moral victory, a 30pt loss is the same as a 1 pt last second shot loss (i.e. the Suns game was the same end result as the first Celtics game), only the close losses are more frustrating, and seem to further destroy the confidence of the team. My reasoning for this conclusion is that they never ever answer these losses with wins or even A win. It sort of starts them on a downward spiral, and I see it coming again, and I know it will come again, much as I hope it won't. Until we can learn to close out games, we have NO HOPE. NONE.

That said, given the rave reviews of y'all, I'll watch the game sometime and see if there were any visible signs that show that this is indeed a team that is learning and changing into something other that what we've always known. A win against the Nuggets would go a long way, so here's hoping....

I understand Beagle. At a certain point, losing just isn't fun to watch no matter how well we played. Really, I'm just trying to continue to see hope for the future (as we have been doing for years now - I realize). The Pistons game showed me that we still have the good pieces I thought we had back in November. Then December came and we sucked bad (on the golfball-through-a-garden hose scale). The last two games showed me we're still watchable and maybe we won't just bend over for teams when the going gets tough. I ultimately want to enjoy watching the Bobcats. That's why I follow them - it's entertaining. That said, no one will disagree that winning is a hell of a lot more fun than losing. Even if the losses are somewhat entertaining. But, I don't make personnel decisions and I sure don't play basketball, so I'm not sure what I can do about losses except try to see the brightside of a team that I'm not going to stop cheering for anytime soon. I saw a lot of bright side Saturday.

Now, let's beat the ever-lovin' $#!+ out of the Nuggets.
