View Full Version : First Time In Franchise History
It seems that in the 3 years existence of the bobcats they have never had a player who avg 20 pts per game in a season.. But in this season they've got TWO, in J-Rich and GW... :afro:
With this stagering stats and our lowly record, it got me thinking that, Is having a great 1-2 punch still the answer to winning in the NBA like in the days of Magic&Kareem, Stockton&Malone, CB&KJ or MJ&Scottie???..
I mean if you look around the league the only other teams who has TWO 20ppg Guys are the NUGGETS, WARRIORS, ROCKETS, WIZ, NETS and MAVS.. All of these have have winning records EXCEPT the Bobcats.. Why? ??? ??? ???
Note: Aside from the CATS, the only 2 other teams in the EAST that has a 1-2 punch combo players are the NETS and WIZ. :g:
WHY WHY WHY all these losing??? :afro:

The nuggets, Warriors and Nets all have top 5 point guards in the league.
The Rockets have legit scoring and boarding big man, Mcgrady and depth.
The Wizards are getting stellar big man play from Jamison and Haywood, as well as Butler having a Lebron type year.
The Mavs have Dirk, 2 good point guards, depth, and Josh Howard.
We have a younger team with inconsistent big men, inconsistant PG play, and the weakest back court in the league when you peg in Mcinnis.
Inconsistency and youth is what dooms us currently.

i'd say we have a losing record with these 2 scorers because no one else on the team is a great scorer besides these 2. felton can put up 15-16 in a career year, same with okafor in a career year. however, we have a losing record because in crunch time, we turn it over when we need a basket instead of having one of these 2 scorers put one in the hole

yeah we need a point guard......I love raymond but he really should be gone! If he cant play the position we drafted him to play why even keep him around??
Also all of those teams have big man who scores.......maybe opkafor should be traded as well??
Despite having two 20 point scorers. The Cats are still 23rd in the league in offense. Second to last in free throws. 27th in rebounding differential.
We're also very young.
We've made progress in getting a lot more points in the paint from Nazr which has helped. By being able to play him and Mek we can hopefully improve in rebounding. I don't have an answer for free throws.
J-Rich and Crash can't do everything. They need help and I think it has to come under the basket.

Also all of those teams have big man who scores......
Nuggets: No legit big man scorer
Warriors: never have a productive big man
Nets: Some of the weakest front courts in recent years.
Hate to nitpick, but those teams are average at best in frontcourt offense.
