What is your view of the tip Nazr had at the end of the pistons game. Vincent say it was good [Artical]

I like that Vincent is backing the players. Personally, with the game being on the line in OT the refs should have let it go IMO. Slam brought up on RealGM that last year vs. the Nets Carter took one out of the air for a dunk to beat us, and it's typical that in the NBA they allow it all the time.

Legal or not...I feel we got rooked.

In the end though it's just one more loss. So long as they take the fact that they played together and almost won it with adversity and use it to improve what they're building on it'll all be good.

Beating the Nuggets tonight will make it a distant memory.

its just the way its always been for this franchise.

anytime something good happens... we inevitably have something bad happen.

we had a real shot at going 4-0 in one of the toughest stretches in recent memory. and wed have done it too, if it wasnt for those pesky referees.
they really hosed us and took the life out of a growing momentum. Its like the referees are saying, you know what its the bobcats no one cares if they lose.

I agree with all you say, except I place the blame on FT shooting instead of refs. Matt Carroll in the last two games, both of which were at least one OT: 4-9. No excuse for that from a career upper-80% shooter. NONE. That's a more valid reason for our losses, not the refs.

Okay. I've seen the game in its entirety and I still don't change my position on Matt's FTs being a signficant reason for our losses, but the Detroit call in OT was very bad.

Back to that one in a second, but there was another terrible call around the 4 or 5 minute mark in the 4th. GW was driving to the hoop, had Prince on his hip, went up for the layin, made the basket....but was called for an offensive foul?!?! Prince had no position at all on this play. First, he was not set; he was swaying as GW was taking off. Second, his arms were not vertical; they were bent down and went up as contact with GW was made. The only thing going in his favor was he was outside the circle, but that was made irrelevant by the fact that he was NOT SET. Inexlicably, Henry Williams agreed with the call, saying GW dip his shoulder into Prince and that he had established his position. After replaying it 6 times, all I can say is horseshit, Henry. Not a chance. Ironically in OT, GW charged into McDyess and made the basket, yet a blocking call was made when it was obvious McDyess was outside the circle AND had position. Two bad calls don't equal out, especially in this case, because the first correct call would've won us the game in regulation.

As for the tip in fiasco, Henry Williams actually had it right this time as he says Mek led the ball to the rim, as opposed to him making contact with the ball while on the rim. This was indeed as bad of a call as has been discussed here. I slo-mo replayed this thing on my crystal clear DVR 15 or so times, and it was clear that Mek touched the ball outside the rim and guided it to the rim. In fact, Prince got a piece of JRich's hand on the follow through, which altered the rotation on the ball, which made it an airball in the first place. If this was basket interference, then the league is going to have to outlaw alley-oops, because it's the same principal at work. Actually, a good comparison would be Nazr's tip in at the end of the 1st vs. the Cavs; this wasn't called basket interference, so why was this?

Basically, Vincent has a good argument on his hands and should file an appeal, even though it will fall on deaf ears in the league office.

Matt missing FTs is inexcusable. Didn't he shoot in the 90's last season?
Being in the nosebleeds for the game, I couldn't tell one way or another whether or not Prince's feet were set. However, it's not the first time I've seen us get burned on a manure-grade Offensive foul call. I don't know if it's something about the way that Gerald moves to the basket, but he's always getting questionable calls go against him. Shoulders get put into people all the time by superstars who don't get fouls called on them, and it's a load of crap. I thought this poor NBA reffing was all gonna be fixed after last year's debacle.

I mean, really, wtf?

There's almost no way that the league rules in favor of us (supposing Sam gets his wish for an appeal) after them already granting a do-over to Miami, but I'd really like to see the appeal happen and get attention from the media. (Hey Bonnell, I'm talking about YOU too, buddy.)
