Wednesday night, we have to deal with this dude :o
8o5_jGvyVvo

but right now we are playing some of our best basketball of the season. So I think that Dwight Howard is going home Wednesday night with a shiny new loss courtesy of the Bobcats.... Who's with me?

MattD

This is our game to win... In my opinion, we should be on a five game winning streak right now... Instead we are 3-2 over the last five games. Lets make it 4-2 by tomorrow night. Gerald, Jrich, Mek, Matt, Ray, and Nazr all played great games yesterday.

I am hoping that I will be able to go in my dream seats again  if I do, more photos and ingame updates will come!

This will be a fun one, whether in person or on the tv.

Keep turkoglu quiet and we should be alright... otherwise we will have to run small, and dwight is a handful. Rashard... 126? what a rip off. as a bobcats fan i am laughing my ass off, we got gerald for half, what a steal ahahah!

I truely think the Bobcats will win this game. We are playing the best basketball Ive seen in a very long time right now and we have won 3 out of our last 5 only losing to 2 playoff teams in a 2OT loss and a OT loss. ESPN has even taken notice of the great play as of recent...... :g:

Go Bobcats!!!!!!!

Matt, I was gonna ask you if you were a ladycat or something. Those pictures showed that you had some great seats!

I agree that we need to keep Hedo under wraps and play them the way we've been playing everyone lately and we've got a solid chance to come away with a win.

GO BOBCATS!

Okafor has to have a solid game like he's had the past 2 games for us to win. With Narz, it should be a little easier to play against Howard.

If Gerald continues to beast, Okafor plays solid, J-Rich shoots well, and Carroll doesn't fall back into his slump then we have a good chance at taking this game and improving to 4-2 over the last 6.

Mark it down. 93 - 88 Bobcats.

Howard has worst game of season as Okafor and Mohammad shut his ass down. (Very doubtful, but a nice thought :afro:)

This is our last game of the season against Orlando unless we meet them in the playoffs. We played them 3 times during our slump (learning session) (gelling) whatever you want to call it. We played them once (lost by 13 in orlando) when the slump first started, once (lost by 16 in charlotte) in the middle of the slump and once (lost by 9 in orlando) more just before we came out of it. During that span we were 4-13, we were calling for trades and calling for the coach to be fired. We arent in that slump no more folks its going to be a entirely different game this time and the way we are playing right now it's going to be a fun game to watch...... :g:

Go Bobcats!!!!!!

This should be a good game to watch tonight. If we play our two bigs at the same time its going to be a tough match up . Because its hard to stop two shooters out on the wings , Lewis and the TURK. Zone might be our best shot and give Howard a steady dose of OK50 and Nazr to start the game.Otherwize we get killed on the boards again,

The Bulls didn't help us out at all last night. ORL jumped out ahead and allowed Dwight to only log 28 minutes of playing time. They were also hitting their shots from deep (Lewis went 4 of 5, Bogans went 3 of 4, Cook 2 of 5 and Dooling went 1 for 1) which doesn't bode well for a zone defense.

I REALLY want to beat these suckers...last chance too. With our newfound energy hopefully we'll take the game.

Come on Bobcats! Let's take this one! We don't want to finish this season 0-4 against Orlando!

It's been nice seeing the Bobcats climbing in the rankings. Hollinger's got us at 20th now and with a 12% chance of making the playoffs. 12% is way the heck better than .3%!

So, come on Bobcats! Let's get that 15th win!

I always dread playing the Magic now a days basically because we just don't match up well with them. Obviously trying to stop Howard for going off for 30+ plus is the main issue for Emeka and Nazr, J-Swish (love this nickname)needs to bounce back and have a solid shooting night, Solid bench production from Matt Carroll again, Ray needs to continue to show he's a TRUE POINT and lead the team like he did on Monday night and last but not least Crash just needs to continue to play like he's been playing lately on both sides of the ball if all this happens a W is in our future more than likely.

01-16-2008, 02:17 PM
if we are going to win, we'll have to score at least 105 tonight. the thing is tho, that i see it happening because whoever they start at SG sucks, and richardson could go off for 30+ tonight. lewis only shoots 3s these days and hasn't been very productive lately. hopefully it will continue and howard struggles and isn't allowed in the lane (doubtful). howard will get his 25 and 15 but its everyone else that will bring down the magic.

TheBeagle

We should SHOULD eat them alive in the middle with Mek and Nazr. Outside of Dwight, they are as soft in the middle as an average middle-aged man
Dwight will probably stop Mek, but with Nazr coming over the weakside, he should feast on offensive boards and putbacks IF Sam plays these guys together any significant length of time.

Looking forward to going, and hoping traffic is good :g:

Also...when you have a player like Dwight Freakin' Howard why do you think it's a smart idea to start Mcinnis and not have Mohammad out there?

Mcinnis...does not need to be playing 16 minutes in the 1st half...

01-16-2008, 08:06 PM
Wow, we'll need a Beast 2nd half to even have a shot at winning this game. We're shooting 36% while they're shooting 53%, and can someone tell me why Mek only played 9 and a half minutes in the 1st half?

Wallace15
01-16-2008, 08:39 PM

J-Rich and Crash are really becoming the tandem we hoped. We came back and won behind those 2 men. I wont get onto Ray or Okafor for sub par games, but they have to play more like the previous night than tonight. They have to bring their A game if we are going to have a shot at the Playoffs!

HOLY CRAP! i can't watch these games cuz my college doesn't have the channel for it...but i checked the score in the middle of the 2nd quarter and we were down by 17...i was sad :( i know orlando always has our number (at least this year)...

J-Rich and Crash aren't shy about putting the ball up. 53 combined shots. Normally I'm on my feed the post bandwagon, but I'm just going to sit back and enjoy this win against the Magic.

Gentleman, with New Jersey losing and Charlotte winning tonight, we are a mere 3 games out of #8 spot in the east.

Ever since the MJ locker room chat as well as the MJ/Sam meeting....

Gerald and J-rich have also gelled and really been lights out lately. Okafor has had some semblance of being a player the last couple of games. Nazr has been more productive than we could have asked. The team really has shown some heart as of late too.

Damn fun game to be at tonight!! Went from moaning and groaning, to mosoleum-like silence after getting down by even more after the half. I was seriously contemplating my exit strategy after the 3rd.....BUT something happened; something I've never seen from a Bobcats team before (yes, we've played scrappy "Bernie Ball" before, but now we have confidence and TALENT.) They started to chip away at the lead slowly but surely, then as we got below the 'teens, we fans started to actually have some hope that we could win this game. GW attacking like mad, Matty drilling 3s, GW hounding the offensive boards, JRich hitting 3s, forcing turnovers, blocking shots, just pestering the everloving crud out of the Magic, and before you knew it we were in the lead, the crowd was rockin', we made our FTs.....WE CLOSED OUT A GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable!!!

Kudos to everybody on the 2nd level, where I sat tonight (and am really starting to love the guys up there!). They started an impromptu "DE-FENSE" chant without any cue from the loud-mouthed PA guy, it took hold and the majority of the arena was chanting it, and lo and behold if we didn't force a shot clock violation. It's like the players heard the gathering storm leading them on, and just stuck it to the Magic! I was giving 5 to people whom I had never seen before!

All that, and I got my GW authentic jersey, to boot!

Taking into account all these things, this was the best Bobcats game I've ever attended. (As if y'all couldn't tell!)

Bobcats F Othella Harrington, who has developed arthritis in his left knee, missed his 16th straight game.

Good lord isnt it time to step down and let the Bobcats collect some insurance money to pay your contract off Othella?

Now that's what I'm talking about!

Beagle, I was about to come on here and post my experience at the Arena last night, but you said it all to a T. I was in 218. High-5s abounded with people I didn't know. Loved the D-Fence chant that people got going (noticed the lady cats picked it up too!)

The first half was a struggle to watch, though. Waaayyy too much McInnis. Everytime I saw someone approach the scorer's table, I thought "okay, finally! Sam's gonna take Jeff out now." But he didn't. I was so frustrated that I waited for a moment of crowd silence (didn't have to wait long at this point) and yelled "Why is McInnis still playing?" as loud as I could. Jeff subsequently went down the court and shot a runner that hit the front/side of the rim and we did not get the rebound. Shortly thereafter, he was pulled. I'm telling myself I had a hand in reminding Sammy that Jeff was still on the floor! Makes me feel important.

Come the 3rd, though, something changed. On top of the lack of McInnis, we just looked smoother out there. It was beautiful. Went from one of the worst games I'd seen to one of the best.

Definitely made the drive down to Charlotte and back here to Raleighwood last night well worth it. "Winter Storm" be damned. I still managed to get back to my house by 12:15am!

For those that didn't get to witness the team's sudden "eruption" last night, then I feel for you, because it was sweet. Oh, and some extra thanks to Matty C for hitting some long 2s that put us back in the hunt. He is critical as our "unsung hero" in most games.

Let's see what we can do in NOLA.

Mustachio
01-17-2008, 12:59 PM
Beagle and Muttley, i felt the same way. To be honest the crowds are still small at the arena... but damn if it isnt starting to feel like the coliseum of old.

The fans were pissed at the beginning with good reason, but then even with just around 5-6 thousand people... they began to make some noise... I even saw Jrich and Felton swinging their arms to pump the crowd up.... I havent seen that in a long time. well done.

Just a side note for all who might be interested. My season tickets are in section 216. That is one of three sections under the rock the rooftop thing. If your going to a game one night and need to buy tickets, try 216, 217, or 218 out. Its as low as you can sit in the upper bowl, which means decent seats at a decent price. Best value in the arena i think.

The fans in that area usually get rowdy and its in a great location. The massive liquor/beer bar is directly behind us... you know if you need some social lubrication. I just think it would make for a good time if that section started becoming the "real fan" section. not the whine and cheese fans down low, but the fans who get wild and boo Sam for stupid decisions involving Jeff McInnis

Dunk
01-17-2008, 01:06 PM
We should find out where folks sit. I'm in 217 and Rock The Rooftop is a pretty cool spot. Hey, it's near the bar. :)

Things definitely seem to be turning around, fan-wise, as the they've tweaked the experience and the marketing and the team has played better.

Muttley
01-17-2008, 02:56 PM
I think that's a great idea Must and Dunk. My parents got me two tickets for the Holiday 6-pack in 218 and they're great. Definitely the best value in the arena.

TheBeagle
01-18-2008, 01:09 AM
I was in 229 (which are my "official" seats, unless my handicapped cousin comes with me), and we were jamming pretty good. The only thing about those "rock the rooftop" sections is that it's behind the basket. 229 is at a slight angle, but across from the 'Cats bench (yes, Keetch, I saw you in your orange T shirt  ) Are there enough empty seats in those "rooftop" sections that I could come over next time I come solo? I'd be glad to get something started over there.

Yeah Beagle you're making me wish I was up there in the upper deck with you. Except for a few guys behind me; most of the folks around me are corporate wine and cheesers; (is that rude?) Anyways, I really don't feel like I fit in :P

I posted sometime ago that a lot of them go to the bar in the tunnel before halftime and don't wander back out until almost the 4th quarter; which is just fricking amazing to me. The seats are mostly corporate gift tickets I suppose and a lot of good people for sure. I see a lot of young families with small children too. But not too many hardcore fans like us.

Keep rocking up there bro; we're feelin' you.

Dunk
01-18-2008, 06:12 PM
It's Charlotte, there's a ton of corporate douches because of the banks (and I work at one of them). I sit with some other season ticket holders that are just regular guys that are super hard core. A father/son duo hat seem to stand and yell at the refs for 48 straight minutes. It's hilarious.
