I too like TT, but i dont think we have the peices to acquire him.
I think people will offer up Okafor, but the last thing they want is another defensive big man down low with limited offensive abilities.
The only trade that makes sense is TT for Pau Gasol. however... that would be terrible if that happened. Putting Gasol on that bulls team would make them instant contenders. If all they had to do is lose TT for Gasol... Wow. they would have a great lineup and front court of Gasol, Wallace.

Give me Thomas for....
Expiring Contracts and conditional 1st rounder?
I'd love to nab Sefolosha and and Duhon in a larger deal but I'd be unwilling to give Okafor away as that seems the only piece they'd really be after other than what I stated above with salary cap relief and picks. They'd probably want Crash but no way in hell is that happening.
I just don't see us having the right pieces. BUT, I have no idea what Thomas' value really is. I know that I'd love to nab him and put him as the PF next to Okafor/Nazr.
Just throwing this out there, but what about Thomas/1st rounder/Duhon for Okafor, Harrington and a 2nd?

That is a pretty interesting proposition. I am a little wary of trading Okafor during the time we seem to be geling as a team. But, if we have TT to play with Nazr, and we have Duhan and their 1st rounder (which will be a good Lottery pick) that is definitely worth considering. Hell, I might add McInnis in there to get rid of him.
Why is everybody so in love with Tyrus Thomas? What has he done so far in the league to deserve this respect?

I don't give him that much respect as to start breakinG up the core, I was thinking somthing like Dudley and next years 1st for T,T .
Or somthing like T.T Duhan and next years first for OK50

An 3 way offer on the Trades & Transactions section of RealGM:
Charlotte (cut Jeff McInnis)
out: Emeka Okafor, Othella Harrington
in: Joakim Noah, Tyrus Thomas, Chris Duhon, David Noel, future CHI 1st
IMO that's pretty good return.
dav7z
01-17-2008, 03:41 PM
I would jump on that in a second . That would be great return.
I would more than likely do it with out the fucture 1st.
Nazr fills right in at the starting five.
TT gives us that atlathic starting four and rebounds .
Duhon gives a very silid back up point who could push Felton
Noah play coming off th beanch
All of a sudden we become very competive and very deep.
Just think add in Morrison and MAY tO that and we got 10 solid players easy. A great surporting cast for Wallace and J RICH
Is it a chance in hell this could work?
I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to move Joakim right now given how well he's fitting in over there.
If you get him and TT and a guard and I'd expect to at least have to give up Okafor and a pick and hopefully move some baggage (Harrington or McInnis). Maybe they wait a year and hope May gets healthy and does something for them.
Just throwing stuff out there to see how the money and players work.

who read Bill Simons besides me? Sometimes hes an ass, but hes right in writing about chemistry, and how that is defining what makes the best teams, portland a relatively untalented team, is playing great ball because of their rediculous chemistry, San Antonio has too..
Why, if we are just starting to get some chemistry would we want to pick up Noah (Got in a FIGHT with a COACH) Tyrus Thomas (says he plays for money and seems pretty lazy) for mek and bind ourselves to these players and their contracts... no no hell no.

You talking of giving up a 13pt and 10 board player. For two high drafted players both of whitch can put up those numbers.
You get a p/f who could guard inside and out side and can score you 10 pts and 10 boards a game.
Noah a great energy player off the beanch good on the boards. Shot blocker and could give you 10 garbage pts a game
Duhan a good point to push Felton
And a first round pick for just OK50 . We crazy if we turn that down, Just think no more MCINNIS no more small ball.
Just think how fast TT is and how he boards
We would be crazy not to jump on it.
OK50 is a restricted free agent at the end of the year so that plays a large part in thinking about this.
If he gets traded, does his restricted free agent status with a new team?
Can we offer him multiple years on like we did for Varejao? For example, if we valued him at 3/30 (or something) would that be sufficient to keep him or do we think there would be a lot of takers at that price?

If we geting offered that much just for Ok50 his value for a new contract must be at about six years and 65 million.
Personally i don't think hes worth no where near that.I just don't think hes worth 65 million period.
A first round pick and three solid players for a guy i value at no more than 8 milion a year. Does any one hear think hes worth more than Crash.
In OK50 i don't think we talking of giving up a ALLSTAR hear.

I agree with Dav...it's a helluva deal.
Would they do it? It looked lean to Memphis IMO; last I checked no Griz fan had weighed in. Maybe if the future CHI 1st was rerouted to Memphis instead?
Just a guess, but I think Noah's "issue" is that he's upset with the Chicago players' drive. We all know how much he wants to win, and the rest of the team is showing everything but that. Personally I'm with him if that's the case, and I'd hope that wouldn't be a problem with us.
TT is very young but VERY talented. I don't think he's really in it for the money so much as he lacks tact. He has agression (the knock on Mek) and he's started developing an outside shot. Again, coming to a team with a great desire to win could very well turn his game around.
Duhon is an expiring, but I'd guess his bird rights would transfer. Even if he walked though I think what's left is still decent for Mek.
Mek is restricted, but his bird rights would go to Memphis with him. Due to FAs that will be available and only around 2 teams with capspace they probably won't have too hard a time getting a new deal.

ugh, I don't like it at all. Ty Thomas is a nice ball player that better step it up in the next few years to match his athleticism. I don't know why the Bulls insist on floating out trade rumors. How do you think our guys would play if they kept hearing they were being shopped? We'd probably have about half the wins we do now. All that Kobe stuff over the summer, I guess they have some nice young players that people would like to go after....I say we stand pat and see where we fall with the players we have at the end of the year and get rid of the garbage, Jeff, Othella, re-evaluate on Mek and draft well. If we can trade in the off-season that'd be best for me I think. I guess the net net of it is, I'm loyal to Mek, our first draft pick, ROY, face of the franchise even this year....don't really want to see him go. That said, if he doesn't start producing, he's not getting a new contract or possibly getting traded, just to make the team better, because that's what matters most.

Biggie, I hear ya. I feel a loyalty towards Mek, and he's such a model guy. But this trade seems pretty good for us. I'd have to do it.
More importantly, though, does this affect having the hot Asian woman cheering for us? Her man's a UConn fan, right? Can we part with that?

isn't ty thomas just a less strong, but more athletic okafor? neither have great post up skills, which is what the bobcats really need. but if we could get him without giving up a starter, why not?

Looks aint got nothing to do with it. Look at Chris Kaman of the Clippers. How is he doing? Blowing Okafor's doors off with 17.6 pts and 13.8 reb. And he aint no Tom Brady like hunk either. It's all about the play.

Noah just recently had a run-in with Ben Wallace and an assistant coach on separate occasions in the past week.

We don't need that. I'm beginning to agree that ANY trade (perhaps even ones that include only losing Jeff McInthegamefortoomanyminutes) could hurt the chemistry the teams got going on right now.

Noah always struck me as a flapping douchebag. I still remember how he had a Curt Schilling sense of where the camera was at all times and doing his dumb gator chomp at florida. It is pretty obvious he still feels like he is the king shit of turd mountain in Chicago, but he has to earn his stripes. The word is that he has a beef with Ben Wallace in Chicago (and the coach and everyone else) Say what you will about Ben Wallace, but you have to give the man respect, after all he has won a championship, and been defensive player of the year twice I think. What's Noah done other than play for the cameras? If your whole TEAM votes to have you suspended for longer then you might be a douchebag. I would HATE to see him in a bobcats uni (unless it's him for Jeff McMinimus straight up)
As far as TT, i think we already have enough underacheiving big men with potential on this team as it sits (May, Okafor) unless the price was right and we only had to get rid of a marginal player (duds and hollins for example) I agree with the others, lets ride it out with who we've got and see where we end up. I would almost root for 9th seed in the east, barely missing the playoffs, and getting lucky in the draft.

The guys might not come out training camp so flat if they JUST missed the playoffs. Would be okay long term. Would suck in the short term.

Ouch. Spectre, I was about to say "as bad as the Bulls are, they may actually make wholesale changes." Then I realized, they are actually ahead of us in the standings. Reality check. I'd jump on that trade, with the kicker being their 1st rounder. We would likely have to add more to the package to get that pick tho.

How does David Noel figure into the trade? He's a IR member of the Bucks. ???
Speaking of Tarheel natives and the Chicago Bulls, did anybody catch the news about JamesOn Curry being arrested and jailed for pissing in public and resisting arrest? And people were getting mad at Roy for taking away his scholarship to UNC after the marijuana ring scandal! ::) Once a degenerate, always a degenerate :-\

You have to go to the link to see the entire trade which was a 3 way...I only posted our part in the deal.
Ohara I do think the Bulls are going to do something big because of their subpar record. They are slightly above us in the rankings but remember these guys thought they were contenders for the crown...MUCH higher expectations in Chicago vs. Charlotte.
Only they won't do this. Remember they didn't sign Deng or Gordon to an extension last offseason and are facing dealing with both this summer. I doubt seriously if they want another contract to deal with at the cost of guys on a rookie contract. From what I remember their owner is luxury averse.
Shame too, as this type of deal would make Jamison a Bobcat.

Good points Spectre. I see what you are saying and it makes good sense.
Beagle, I saw that news, too. Yeah, most of the time, a leopard cant change his spots. Most of the time, but once in a while someone can. But Jameson is proving to be the norm. Hell, if you're going to piss in public, and least do it in your back yard at night in the bushes so people wont call the cops. Some folks just aren't that bright.
