I know they have only been playing like this for a whole two weeks, but is this the team that we were expecting?

IMO there are many factors to the recent success of the team and basically my own assumptions.

These assumptions mainly revolve around one guy J-Rich. He looks like a different player than in the beginning of the season. He is differing as much to the other players and this has actually helped the team gel.

With J-Rich stepping up, it looks like that has helped Vincents' overall strategy that was put in place in the beginning of the season.

It also looks like Wallace has bought into Vincents' plan. He is playing lights out. Meka has been inconsistent but remains a key part of the Bobcats future as does Felton. I know that Felton receives and deserves a lot of flak but IMO he IS our only option at the point.

The question that I lay to all of you. Did we dig ourselves too big of a hole with the horrible schedule that we will have in the next months? Or can we continue to step it up and have our starters play at a high level every night 40 minutes a night?

No, I think they still can get much better, if we could develop a consistant low post game, then I think we'd be even better, I like the fact that we are not settling for jumpers as much anymore, but we got to get the ball to the big men down low more IMO...Once we develop a consistant low post game, if we can keep Wallace & JRich going, i think we'll have the team that most of us, or at least I expected...

It's the team I expected, as a matter of fact they are becoming very scarey, we don't have just one player that can go off on any given nitght but several. (Crash, JSwish, MC Hammer, Felts, Naz is even becoming a force down low. They are beginning to take the league by surprise. :) Just need to be consistant.

the way they've played in the past week and half is what i was expecting when we got richardson. im kinda disappointed with okafor's "development" or lack there of and the same can be said for felton. hopefully felton will not have to play SG with mcinnis anymore, so he can have his chance to run the team for a whole season. but i was thinking they could win about 40-45 games this year, and that is still not out of the realm of possibility

Consistant good post, Agreed on ever thing you saying.Im two am worried about Oakfor. He seems to have no fire or heart. True hes a good player , but competive hes not. Think he has had four subpar games anainst Howard the player he was most compared to. It doesn't seem to bother him . He still comes out with no fire. The Hornets Chandler killed him last game. I know Oakfor if he had to could use Chandler. I REALLY WISH we had a player ready to get even . But i think he will just go though the motions. Thats his problem hes not competive enough to go along with all that talent.
That being said they are meating most of my expections except Okafor. I still look to see us play 500 ball this year.

Now I'm not about to saying that Okafor hasn't been a bit of a disappointment this year, but you got to understand, we haven't been getting him the ball as much as we could be. Nights when he gets the ball more and has more shots we've done real well, but he's only averaging 9 shots a game, and recently he hasn't even gotten that many...If we could get him the ball a bit more, i think his numbers would go up...

This is what I hoped for, once I realized we'd be without Ammo and Fatty McGee. I think Okafor's play is directly related to what the team is doing at PG namely Ray. If Ray is driving and creating Okafor is going to play well. If we have Mcminis out there doing his "YMCA guy that has to bring the ball up" Mek isn't going to create for himself. He isn't that kind of low post guy. He does well on the offensive glass and when the ball is dumped off underneath(usually by a driving PG).

I call him "Krispy Kreme"

Yeah I kinda agree with that but maybe Mek's style of play is meant for a different style of team. What do you think? :g:

I was expecting a .500 team (given or take 3 games or so) this year. The last couple of weeks fwe have finally started to play like one. I think Crash and J-Rich have delivered by OK50 hasn't. The trade with Nazr has exceeded expectations although I though Primoz would have been a little better than he was which necessitated the trade.

Coach has been disappointing. Granted, I thought he would make some mistakes but the first 25 games or so were really bad. We probably should have 20 wins and I'd attribute 4 or 5 games to his rotations and decision making.

The good news is that if this turning of the corner is for real then we are well positioned to be very successful over the next few years. It's still way too early to tell, though.

I must say that with any coach there will be an adjustment period. My problem with Vincent is the lack of consistency with him as a coach. To be honest, how can we expect players like Carroll, Meka, Dudley and Felton to be playing at a consistent level when Carroll and Dudley do not get consistent minutes . Meka doesn't get any consistent shots and Felton doesn't even play the same position all of the time.

The way we've been playing the past 6 games is what I expected all year. Crash has been playing great all year, but J-rich is the reason for our recent success. He's finally starting to play like we all thought he would have at the beginning of the year.

Honestly though, without Crash or Richardson, we'd be screwed.
