Well after todays dandy poor coaching and lack of second half pizzaz, we get this from our head coach

"This is probably one game that I don't feel bad about losing," Bobcats coach Sam Vincent said. "We played pretty well. We lost to a championship team."

We played like crap because the rotation did not favor who was hot. We played like crap because radio here couldnt seem to motivate our team to do sh*t in the second half.

Seriously an NBA coach of a team that is crawling closer to a playoff spot for the first time is saying, eh I dont care about that loss theyre better then us. That is a load of bullshit and the worst attitude a coach could have. Yeah they may be good, but we beat them last year on the road, and since we are better this year, we should have put up a better second half fight.

every loss should hit hard, you are being paid to win, or to get your team to win
Its turning your back on your fans who pay to watch you

No excuses... just wins is what I as a fan want. Disappointing to say the least

I can only imagine what our 2 ultra competitive players are thinking about that quote. Do you seriously think they take this guy seriously? How the hell can he say that? I don't care if we play the West All Stars or the Harlem Globetrotters(plenty of tickets still available for next month at the arena or whatever) we play to win and my team better be damn disappointed if they don't win.

Gerald said something like, well we would have to play a perfect game to beat them... but he never said well I'm ok with the fact that we lost, theyre better then us!

I heard that in the post game show on the radio.
Being content with a loss isn't exactly the message that he should be sending to the team.

I agree that the statement sounds bad. I'd really like to know the context of the statement and what he was saying in the sentences before and after. If that is all he said, it is sending a very bad message. If he also said something along he lines of "you never like to lose, losing sucks, at least we played with hustle, there were several things out there I saw that I liked, etc..." then his message is not so bad. Sometimes quotes are taken out of context and sound bad. But like I said, if his only comment was about not feeling bad about the loss, then I don't like that attitude at all.

That's true O'Hara. I'm willing to bet that most of the crazy stuff we hear from Radio is taken out of context. (What kind of coach is OKAY with a loss??!?!?!???!?) He's new at this, but he needs to improve what he says to the media. Even if these are taken out of context, he should try to avoid saying things that can be isolated like this to make him sound absurd. If it hadn't been for hearing some of the ridiculous crap he's been spouting (or at least how he has been portrayed as spouting) then I wouldn't be as critical of him, just questioning his over-playing of McInthegametoomanyminutes.

I was walking through Freedom Park the other day and saw Radio riding by...I asked him about this quote and this is how he responded:

That is the lamest, stupidest comment a coach could ever make about his team. Unbelievable.

This ARTICAL makes me think Vincent has given up on the playoffs and leting his players do the same . Sorry guys but this just pisses me off beyond belief. I will still folow the Bobcats but im not going back to any more games til two things happen . 1st, We got to want to win and our coaches and players have got to belive we can.2nd ,Radio has got to take MCINNIS out of the starting line up.
I don't care if we win just win 20 games this year . Hell we can't just give up.

if you ask me, just one. "Ugh Sam, it's been real nice having you a coach but we're going to have to ask you to get out. Oh and some guys on a message board think you look like Radio. Just thought you should know"

Good call! Except that it would technically be his 2nd sit-down with Radio, the 1st one coming earlier this month and resulting in Sammy saying something along the lines of "All I can say is that we're on the same page."

Good for you Sam. Good for you.

MattD

Aparently, we are not on the same page as Popovich:

"Sam really has it going in the right direction," Popovich told the Bobcats' official Web site. "I can understand why they are winning."

To me, winning is having a winning record. Yeah weve won a few, not as many as you. Maybe we are all idiots and cannot see Vincent's brilliance... :g:

I wont believe it... sorry but after watching games, I thought the spurs game was ok coached, but could have been better especially the second half. Some games have been awful.

Actually, this was a damn good article! Everything in it rings true. I don't want to make excuses, but sometimes reality forces you to do such: it took those two months, in which we were supposed to pad our record to make up for potential losses in the last couple months, to acquire Nazr, for JRich to find his rhythm with a new team, and for all these pieces working together on the court. In that sense, the schedule is a signifcant reason we won't make the playoffs. If the schedule had been reversed, so that we started out with the brutal road stretch, and ended with a flurry of home games, I actually would like our chances. We may have started our 2-12 or something, but we would also have grown closer as a team, as road trips tend to force players to do, hastening the "gelling" of JRich.

Still, the coaching isn't doing us any favors, but I think the preseason expectations of us all didn't take into account the personnel adjustments and adjustments of the players.

I think what Avery Johnson said postgame was very accurate: basically, "(Bobcats) are a couple pieces away; a veteran or two and a draft pick, and they'll contend regularly." Jeez, what having Antawn on our team would do!!! :g:

I don't think the road games are going to be as bad as everyone thinks. The coaching maybe, if Radio doesn't learn how to make the appropriate in game adjustments. He allowed Devin Harris to kill us in the third quarter last night. What the hell does he be saying in timeouts. The plays after timeouts, leave you saying "what the hell was that, I could draw up one better.

"Radio will be our biggest problem on the road"
As for the artical Vincent doesnot have what it takes to lead this young team to the playoffs. I for one think they are better than his coaching.

Ive thought that all along, I was willing to give him a chance and the benefit of the doubt but come on this coach does crazy line ups, calls crazy plays, puts the wrong people in the game at the worst possible times. Having said that if our 2 wing men would shoot a better FG percentage and not shoot 30-35% we could win these close games. Some of these crazy lineups could be the main reason they are shooting so poor. I think they have done wrote off this season and maybe sand bagging for a higher lottery pick. RV has to have some potential or Jordan wouldnt have hired him.... :g:

Okay, Radio Vincent may have some potential, but he's killing me slowly with his coaching. If Crash an J-Rich are shooting 30% why not bring in MC, who btw spreads the floor very nicely. Why is he so in love with this 2 guard lineup.

Is it wrong to want some proper in game adjustments and a decent play every now and then. We didn't get beat by Dirk, Josh, Jerry, or Terry. We got beat by Devin Freakin Harris, and I'm still pissed. :-\

Its all part of what I call "Growing Pains" one night we're great, next game we stink it up. One night RV calls a good game next night he stinks it up. :g:

Well, he's smelling really bad right now. Other then the Boston game at the Garden, which I thought had more to do with players wanting to win than his coaching, what games did he do a good job of coaching?

BIGCatBobcat

I was listening to most of the game last night. Mugsy and whatever his name is were talking about how Sam came from the Mavs, blah blah, dude says "a lot of people were suprised when Sam was hired because he was the 3rd assistant last year for Dallas." He was the 3rd assistant! That means 4 people would have to get kicked out of the game for him to make a decision. Mugsy's response was "well sometimes in this business, it's all about who you know." Who the hell does he know?
