I'VE BEEN GONE FOR AWHILE BUT NOW I'M BACK, THERE ARE ALOT OF MAJOR TRADE TALK GOING ON WITH SOME BIG NAMES AND BIG CONTRACTS. THIS MEANS THERE IS GOING TO BE SOME MULTIPULE TEAM TRADES GOING ON. TEAMS SUCH AS DALLAS, MILWA, NETS, DENVER, PORTLAND, AND MAYBE EVEN MORE. EACH TEAM OUT THERE HAS A PIECE THAT WE COULD USE AND WE HAVE A PIECE THAT THEY COULD USE. WE HAVE EXPIRING CONTRACTS, MONEY AND A PLAYER THAT HIS CONTRACT COULD BE JUST BOUGHT OUT AND SEND HIM SHOPPING. HARRINGTON (EXPIRING CONTRACT) JEFF MCINNIS(SHOPPING) AND THE ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR. WE HAVE A ROSTER SPOT OPEN SO WHY NOT USE IT.
DALLAS(HOWARD OR BASS EITHER COULD BE USED TO HELP DOWN LOW, BASS IS PLAYING PRETTY GOOD AND YOUNG) PORT (JARRET JACK DESCENT POING GUARD OR EITHER STEVE BLAKE, PREFER BLAKE BECAUSE JACK WOULD WANT THE STARTING JOB) MILW (CHARLIE V, A HARD TO GUARD 4 BECAUSE HE HAS INSIDE AND OUT ABILITY BUT ENOUGH SPEED AND SIZE TO GUARD THE BIG BRUISIN 4) SOME OF THESE TRADES WOULDN'T SET US BACK TO FAR AND WOULD STILL ALLOW US TO KEEP OUR DRAFT PICKS. THOUGHTS :afro:

First off, what's with the capitals?
Second, milwaukee won't be trading charlie villanueva, they just recently traded for him. Third, we should NOT trade for a young PG because that would counteract Felton's development.
Fourth, who is Bass and why would Dallas trade him if he's good and young?
Fifth, you say that these trades "wouldn't set us back too far." Why would you make any trade that set you back at all? Seems contradictory to the point of trading to me.

If you watched the Sacremento game tonight, we need a big that can rebound his butt off worse than we need another point, but we still need another point too..... :g:

Sam came out last week and said we would not be making any trades. He likes us as we are right now. We might add someone to be our 15th player since we have a spot open, but nothing out there would be of much help.

Here's Rick Bonell's suggestion:

More rebounding would sure help. A Western Conference player-personnel executive I know saw the Bobcats live for the first time this season Wednesday. He was struck by how easily the Kings pushed around the Bobcats under the boards (a 16-rebound advantage), because Sacramento is the second-worst rebounding team in the league. The Bobcats are 27th among 30 teams.

I'm telling you, that "small ball" lineup is gonna kill us some nights. Hollins and Dudley logged a COMBINED 3 minutes in last night's game, a number almost doubled by Othella Harrington, who - let's face it - is barely mobile and useful. Dudley and Hollins present two players who have the ability to pull down boards, particularly Dudley, who is tough...exactly why he's in Radio's doghouse is unknown to me.

As we make this potential playoff run, games can be exciting, but let's look at the facts: our horses can't last forever at the rate they;'re going. Radio is having our starters log ridiculous minutes while letting his bench players rot. It's ridiculous! The concern for me is not so much whether or not we'll pick someone up at the deadline, but whether Radio will even let that player see a game!

Supposedly the Bucks' owner likes CV, but Charlie wrote on his blog the other day that he's ready to move on and supposedly he's requested a trade.

I have NO problem with getting another young PG.  I didn't want guys like Knight being put in front of Felton (nor do I like McInnis there either), but competition between guys from the same draft class I can certainly live with.  Personally I don't think Jack would start over Felton but you never know.  According to the Blazer fans he doesn't have very good court vision and sucks in an uptempo offense.  Eithe way, he or someone like him would strengthen the position.

The problem with facilitating a trade this year is we're right at the cap, and salary flexibility is usually what the other teams want to utilize.  Higgins I'm sure will be keeping his ear to the ground because this is a good time to pick up assets, but I doubt we do much of anything.

Figure we're still in it, got two guys coming back next year, Harrington and McInnis out the door (I think) and probably a high pick in a deep draft. We've got a lot of options if we can remain patient.

Higgins says there may be a trade of some kind before the deadline..... :g:

The Bobcats are working to stay in an Eastern Conference playoff race. General manager Rod Higgins told the Observer Wednesday night he was still actively searching to improve the roster and said it was possible the Bobcats could make another transaction before the Feb. 21 trade deadline.

How about Charlotte and Knicks trade off Coaches? Well, I am not sure who is getting the better of that deal. We may actually be getting rid of the better Coach - and that is really a condemnation of Thomas.

Well I really like the Boykins deal. That will help us alot.
As for a trade I have no clue what Higgins could be stirring up! Maybe he will bring another player in from Golden State. Since they just signed C-Webb maybe they would be willing to trade one of their other PF's. I am thinking maybe Al Harrington. He wont help that much with rebounding but he would be a pretty good fit with J-Rich and Gerald.

Not to be too terribly boring but, wouldn't it be nice to just wait? I want to win now too, I thought we were set up to do that in the pre-season, Ammo and Fats May going down hurt us, but I like the parts we have. I think if we had a deeper rotation with more time on the court for our guys would help a ton. We need a good draft pick and possibly a free agent pick up. I think our losing streaks early have painted us into a corner and it's not looking good for us this year, still quite possible and I really hope we do make it but realistically, we don't look like it right now. I do not want to mortage our future to win this year. You guys know the analogy GM's buy the groceries for the coach to cook dinner? I don't want to go out and buy filet and lobster on credit for some D-Bag to put in the microwave.

Muttley, thanks, really thank you. I am not known for my analogies, never throw them out but I felt good about that one. Rep it up because I want Othella away from my name as soon as possible. (still don't really know how this stuff works)

Sam=bad coach, stupid lineups.

"Othella" is based on post count, I believe, but it was definitely worth a +1 in my book.

Just came from sports illustated truth and rumors, rumor is that portland is trying to trade jack and frye. We no longer need jack but frye could help. Maybe we could swindle them into a deal like the memphis deal, harrington, mcinnis and a 2nd for outlaw and frye. :afro:

Just thought about this, gsw signed webber and heard somewhere that higgins was thinking about al harrington. They don't need him anymore with cwebb going to log min. at pf since they have beidrin at center. How does his salary look i'm sure it's high but he won't help on the boards just in points. :afro:

I think we need a rebounding monster if we go trading for someone..... :g:

another strong banger we could look to aquire is Troy Murphy from the Pacers. He's not flashy, but knows what to do with the ball and has put up a few seasons of 10+ rpg.

But then again, Hammy Ham won't play him
