Title explains it all, Caron, Antawn, and Paul Pierce made the forward reserve spots. Damn.

as much as we all love crash, its hard to argue him making the team over those 3 players.
blame wade.... even though he's a guard.

Cosign I'm just hoping Wallace uses not getting the All Star nod as motivation and show why he should have been picked.

im shaky on it but I think I agree. He does everything, whereas Antawn is great, but not universally great like gerald

While I am upset over Crash not getting a spot, it's hard to argue against the current selections, considering the limited amount of spots. Now if someone gets hurt and isn't able to play and Crash doesn't get some consideration, then it's ridiculous

its only a popularity contest... and since no one has ever heard of the bobcats... we get dicked for all star votes.
Not many people can fill up a stat line like Gerald Wallace can. hes an all around player. high averages in steals, blocks, rebounds, and now points.
Its absolutely a tragedy and its whats wrong with the NBA and its image right now.
All flash no substance. Gerald is lil flash, ALL substance. He should be treated like a star in the NBA... but instead his hard work and determination on the court gets over looked.. because he doesnt play in a major market on a well liked team.
Im not saying hes the best player in the league. But damn... If your gonna start an NBA team RIGHT NOW... who the hell are you gonna pick first. Caron Butler, Paul Peirce, Antwan Jamison, Rip Hamilton Gerald Wallace? looking at age and ability its gotta be Gerald. and yet hes not even on the all star team.
Caron, Rip, Peirce, Jamison and Wade... all all stars... all nothing but scoreres. your not gonna see Rip make a sick ass steal and throw down a dunk turning momentum. DEFINETLY NOT OLD ASS JAMISON!
The NBA is a Popularity contest in all facets these days. From the referee making bogus calls for Wade, to the all star ballot.

caron can and does, he plays an all around game, and antawn might, he is playing some of his best bball even though his "old ass" is 31

Until we get more national tv coverage and people actually see us play, Gerald or any other Bobcat will have a hard time making the All-star team.
He definitely deserved be an All-star this year though.

Even though he's a guard, no way should Joe Johnson make it over GW. That's criminal. Hell, Josh Smith should've made it over Johnson.
Maybe Butler will stay hurt and GW will make it as an alternate :-\

the most glaring mistake is Joe Johnson. he is terrible as far as i am concerned. Maybe it's just because the Bobcats have his number. Wasn't he the one who flipped us off on the way out of the arena last year?
Actually I'm thinking only of east players, the biggest mistake overall is leaving out Baron Davis.
In the first article espn posted Gerald wasn't even mentioned. He just isn't on the national radar. Until our team becomes a contender he won't get the attention he needs and really deserves unless, like I told someone earlier this year, he just goes off for a streak of 40 pt games. Scoring flash and popularity are what drive the NBA in so many ways just like El Stacherino said.

While everyone likes to toot Kevin Garnett's horn as being the MVP of the Celtics, I frequently point to Paul Pierce as keeping that team going, which has been the case since he was drafted. So I'm glad Pierce mad the all-star team as he should have. His selection, however, does make a great case for Gerald Wallace as an all-star simply by the numbers:
Pierce: 20.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 4.9 apg
Wallace: 21.4 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 3.7 apg
And remember, while Pierce is very, very good (remember the shootout Crash and Pierce had in Feb 2007's game at The Biscuit), this season Crash is shooting at a better percentage while playing more minutes. So while Pierce is a proper selection, Crash is definitely a huge snub, which sucks.
It sucks but the simple solution is to win more games and get one of our guys in. All the All Star games are popularity contests unless you start leaving it up to the players and coaches and not the fans. Baseball is even worse, IMO.

Its just a big popularity contest, GW isnt well known through out the league yet, his day is coming. :(

One thing that annoys me is that ESPN was saying that Hedo Turtkoglu got snubbed. They said he is a good player who..key word... ALMOST scores 20 points a game, and that the East should reconsider putting him in. Is it just me or are they forgetting someone?
It's terrible that Gerald Wallace, the guy who carries his team by scoring over 20 points a game and is a beast on defense, gets snubbed again.

KG probably wont play... there is a chance. Though I would expect it going to Ray Allen or someone like that possibly before it goes to Gerald and the Bobcats. We need exposure damnit!

just saw on the espn ticker, Wallace gets Nod to Replace Garnett. I was happy, I clicked the link. Rasheed Wallace. Seriously? Seriously? Thats crazy.
HES AVERAGING 12.9 POINTS PER GAME AND 7.3 REBOUNDS
GERALD AVERAGES 21.2 PPG 6.1 RPG 3.7 ASSISTS PER GAME... not to mention the fact that he carries our team night in and night out along with Jrich.
BS
glad I got that out of my system.

Actually in Turkey, we all had expected Hedo to be selected as replacement of Garnett. He has great averages, but also came up big in 4th quarters many times, which is surely a factor. In my opinion, Hedo deserves more than Gerald, but that's for sure that they both deserve much more than Rasheed.
This is a poor decision by David Stern.
