I have been following this board almost everyday to read everyones comments etc, but i now feel the strong desire to make a post. During tonights loss to the Lakers, i saw something that sums up why we need to make a change. Jeff McInnis was brought back in with 1:37 left in the 4th for Matt Carroll. Matt was so confused that he was being subbed out when we are down by 9. When Matt got to the bench, he looked at DA and said "What is going on, come on man". DA then gave gave him the "i dont know what coach is doing" response. I specifically watched Matt because you never seem him so confused when he was taken out. He made a great play a couple minutes prior to get the 3 point play and now he is getting subbed out for a non scoring threat.

I didnt know if Matt was confused or going to cry when he went to the bench. It was obvious when Matt came back to the bench the teammates had an unwritten language about how bad SV was. I know this is in other threads, but i wanted to post my personal observations about how bad it is becoming.

On a side note, i have appreciated reading everyones posts and insights. I think this is the right time for me to jump in and make some contributions.

Welcome to the board Bill and a very nice observation. We all do know how you feel, its getting ridiculous and the Bobcats have turned into a laughing stock. Is Sam Vincent (SV, radio, RV, ham biscuit; all his nic names) throwing the season on purpose? or is he just a terrible coach? Is MJ blind? or are things going to plan? Why in the heck would coach put McInnis in over Carroll in the last few minutes of the game? Why would coach put McInnis in at all? Its all a mess and it don't look very good.......... :g:

Sam had subbed in Jeff for Matt with about 3 1/2 minutes to go when we were down by 4 or 6, don't remember. It seemed to me Sam put in McInnis to be a stop defender against Kobe. Jeff did get in his face and tried to harass him. McInnis hurt his shoulder in a Kobe collision and had to sit a bit, but then Sam brought him back in again at a minute and a half.

But I don't think any one guy stops Kobe.

In doing that he took out one of our few effective scorers at a time that we needed points. I would have left Matt in, he was playing very well at the time.

Same old song.

Matt doesn't really get angry on the floor, but he was looking a little confused sitting there. A number of us were yelling his name out, trying to let him know we felt his confusion.

bill very nice post and welcome to Bobcatsplanet. No matter how bad this year gets we will still be hear . And be looking foward to reading your post. I felt for Carroll last night as well. I told a lot of people the only way coach could do that is ge was tanking on purpose. Or he's the worst coach ever.

Ditto what everyone else said Bill...welcome!!!

Another in a long string on "incidents". There will be a light at the end of the tunnel; I just hope no irreparable damage is done in the meantime.

Welcome Bill. Great insight.

We can tell Matt's discouraged by his play, but for V to take him out at that time (when he was just getting warm) is absurd. He and the rest of them just have to hang in there, and maybe they'll even grow from the experience of being a team mishandled.

Bill, you're right on. Keep posting, I only started a month ago and I love it, I need the outlet for my anger and happiness about this team.
Matt is having the same reaction we all have had when he changes a line-up or starts Jeff. You have to think, does he just not want to win?

Okay yeah, watching the game last night, when Carroll was subbed I freaked out, it didn't make any sense whatsoever, he was finding his groove and was actually playing pretty good D from what I could see, I know he made that strip on Kobe which led to the 3 point play and for Vincent to put McInnis in just made me shit my pants with a righteous fury. Anyways I know that paragraph contributed nothing to the conversation but its my birthday and all I wanted was for the Cats to beat the Lakers last night and I'm a little sad. LATERZ

Happy Birthday, Dude! While crapping your pants is never something that one wants to do, at least you do it with righteous fury. That's something to hang your hat on and be really proud of.

I think the organization as a whole has made a decision to throw the rest of the season down the drain and get the best possible draft pick available. I don't see any other explanation for the horrible play we have been forced to see. This team is pure garbage and a disgrace to the city of Charlotte.
