The 2008 All-Star weekend thread

Alright, we slide into the All-Star break on a mini-high from a W against the Hawks, on the heels of a 7 game losing streak. No Bobcats participating in anything this weekend. So my question is, what are we most looking forward to? The game itself? Slam-Dunk? 3 Pt Shootout? A Sam Vincent firing making news? Pacman Jones shooting up Bourbon St? I for one am just looking forward to TNT's coverage. There was nothing better last year than Sir Charles, the Jet and EJ chatting it up by the fountains at Caesars.

Its a damned shame that we are completely shutout for the whole weekend :-\ Not even a rookie game invite :mad:

Yea I'd be more pumped for this weekend if we had some Cats in New Orleans but reguardless the Dunk contest should live up to the hype and will probably be the best thing this weekend all four dunkers should put on a show.

Great All Star Saturday night this year D12, Kapono and Sir Charles (loved the verbal jabs at Terrell Owens and Daniel Gibson) I was LMAO at the "you shouldn't have a star cut in you're head if you don't start in this league" comment and them saying "Titty" over and over on live TV.

Who do you all have winning All Star game tonight? I'm going with the East with Howard being MVP.

First thing I said, I'm sad to say, after the Superman Dunk is, "Mek can't do that." But it wasnt really a dunk as he didn't get close to the rim.
Tonight the West will win but Kobe will play so limited it will be pointless. Carmello is the MVP.

I figure the fans would vote for him. No doubt he was the leader of the team from the start. Ray really kept the East in the game, but if he wasn't gonna a get it, then Lebron deserves the MVP. Exciting game.

Well, it could have been worse. You could've picked Kobe, but you apparently pay at least a little attention to the NBA. I thought Melo was a good pick at the time. He's the man in Team USA play.
