View Full Version : Wallace for Carter???
Apparently NJ is desperately shoping VC and his contract.. with his recent good play, anyone take interest on VC? With a much establish name compared to wallace, im sure he'll be drawing more fans as we are now w/o a doubt. And of course he is from unc like mj.. And also being familiar with the city of charlotte, it wouldn't be hard for him to swallow being traded here compare to other stars.. what do you guys think? :g:
ps: their both prone to injuries so that wouldn't be an issue. :afro:

Dear god, no. Please, no. We don't need to tank this season any more. Vince Carter would be out there in loafers and standing on the floor.
I'll give them J-rich for VC if I can also get Sean Williams, Josh Boone, and Marcus Williams. At least two of those 3 and their 1st rounder at the least. VC is not tradeable.

I say no on this trade for a number of reasons, but mainly because Gerald is a player on his way up and Vince is a player on his way down. That along with Gerald having a much better contract would make this a horrible deal for the 'Cats.

How many years does carter have left. I'd be against it unless we got more than just vince, like a 1st round pick. He would also have to not have long left on his contract. But all in all we should stand pat, and keep trying.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!
Vince Carter is mortified of performing under immense pressure, especially taking the last shot. I really don't want him on this team.
Yesterday while watching the recaps of the past Dunk Contests and seeing Gerald Wallace and JRich throw down, it made me glad to know they're both Bobcats now

Honest to God, there just aren't many players in the league I'd trade Wallace for. It's not because I'm some fanboy, either. He just does so much that it's really hard to quantify his value. The only two wing players I can think of that I'd definitely trade him for are Kobe and Lebron. When it comes to bigs, most of the truly great ones are getting up there in years and may or may not be relevant in a few years. Basically, that leaves Gasol, Howard, Bosh, Al Jefferson, and maybe a couple of other guys. But none of those are coming here for Wallace. As for point guards, again, the ones truly worth the trade are either getting older (Nash, Kidd) or are getting far too much money to make it worth it (Arenas, Baron, etc.). Obviously, Paul might be worth it, but even then I'd have to think.
Basically, I think Wallace is going to be undervalued by many GMs in the league. That and Wallace's reasonable contract make him a very difficult piece to trade in order to get much better.
Having said that, I'm more than happy to keep him for a long time and get a coach who make this work.
This would be an abortion. Hells no. Unless we got a metric assload of other players and picks like Bumpus said. Crash is a great deal at for what we got him at. Vinsanity blows.
This is a great idea!!
While we are at it we should trade EO50 for Haywood and Swish for Stackhouse.
I mean, if we are going to destroy the team, why not make us a complete laughing stock and uncompetative?

Even being a UNC fan, I hope this team puts no more Carolina guys on the roster/coaching staff. We have three now and that makes it out to a lot of fans like we're trying to build a whole team around unc grads, which I just don't see. I think that train of thought has failed with management.
5 to 7 years ago I would have taken carter and stack. all of the 90's unc greats are getting old. and the unc not so greats (mcInnis) are getting old as well, ha.
But yeah, to reiterate the dozen or so people before me. No to this trade decision. I love Crash because of his hustle and wouldn't want to trade him for any older players who are underachieving (VC).

There is very much doubt in that assumption, so much so that it's flat-out wrong! Don't underestimate GW's popularity with Bobcats fans. He is the fucking man, and I would (along with many others, I know) boycott this team if that trade were to happen. How cool of a guy is GW? He was out at a table signing autos before the Hawks game Wednesday, posing for pictures, chatting it up a bit, giving a hand pound to me, no less. Sorry, but I can't picture prima donna-Carter doing this while on the DL. While it might draw in a few curious bandwagon types, that trade would be the death knell of the Bobcats...count on that!!

Just to reiterate, if we trade Wallace unless if it's for a Chris Paul talent, it makes me want to punch babies in the face.
